What a beautiful campground, with beautiful sites, clean property and a heated pool ! We left Half Moon Lake Resort due to Wal mart style type camping and horrible owners. You will not find that here. It was such a relief when we checked in here after Half Moon. And to top it all off the owner was a sweetheart! Can’t wait to go back :)

This campground is a great weekend get away from the busy day to day. It's close enough to nearby towns and an easy drive. The owners live right on site and do all of the care and operating. They have created a wonderful family environment. Making this a relaxing get away instead of a rowdy partying site. The pool and facilities are very clean and well maintained and the owners do their very best to help everyone. I wish people would see that this is not an 8-4 job but instead it is a 24/7 operation for what in Alberta is a short camping season. Respect is not given it is earned. The hospitality industry is hard enough without people expecting everything for nothing. This couple has put their hearts and souls in to this site allowing you to kick back and relax. Once you get to know them you will realize how friendly they really are. I know this personally as we held our wedding in their front yard and they were very gracious and giving hosts.

I've been to Lindbrook Stargazer a couple times, and I've always had a good experience. The staff members who helped me were always nice and polite, and they addressed any issues I had as quickly as possible. It's a popular place, so it does get busy, and sometimes you have to wait for someone to help you. But I never felt like anyone was ignoring me. I would definitely go back again.

Omg I can not believe how rude people can be...these owners run a very family camp ground and they are very nice and accomadating to all campers... We have been coming out here for over 8 years and continue to come because of the fun friendly atmosphere...if people tried to be friendly and happy that kind of behavior goes a long way.. I truly enjoy our camping out there and how close we are to home...👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

What a great place to take the family. Clean quiet campground with Saturday crafts for the kids and we got to experience a live concert from some local talent.
The owners are nice and accommodating.
Definitely book ahead to get the weekend you want.
The pool is nice and warm even on the cooler days.
Also on Canada day weekend there was a great fire work show and fun activities for the family.
Definitely will be returning

We stayed at this campground for country wedding as a large group of guests was also staying there and the reception site was 5 minutes away. We had heard positive things about the campground and for the $42/night we had high expectations. Our site (#10) was located right next to a stagnant pond with a lovely green film coating the top. We were swarmed by mosquitoes the moment the sun went down. The site only had power, although water was available but you had to walk to the office building to get it and truck it back to your site. The site was down a steeper slope and the level spot on the bottom was very small. We were at the end of a row of 3 sites and while the lane to the site was nicely treed the actual site was wide open. Had we not been camping next to friends, I would have been even more disappointed with the lack of privacy. In fairness, I did see some other nicely secluded spots.

The campground does have a sand beach volleyball area, small playground, horseshoe pit and a pool area. The grounds were well maintained but the pool itself looked very murky - this could be the result of the local water supply or a lack of cleaning/filtering but I was turned off by the appearance. There are shower facilities (one stall per gender), which are coin operated, and were quite clean. There are multiple outhouses throughout the grounds which were clean but lacked lighting for night trips and would benefit from some hand sanitizer dispensers seeing as the sites don't have water hook-ups.

Tip: Bring your own firewood or find it elsewhere before you arrive. For $10 you get a small rubbermaid bin of firewood. They are nice enough to deliver to your site but that rate is extortion.

My biggest turn-off from the stay was the owners. The night we arrived, our 15 amp service was not working. We notified the staff and they came over the fix the issue, but the owner complained that we should be running 30 amp power and implied we had blown the breaker. Odd, since we only run 2 lights and tiny fridge and didn't have any issues for the rest of the stay. We had some other interactions with the owners over at the group site which left a less than positive impression. There were some rowdy group members after the wedding festivities but I did not appreciate being painted with the same brush and treated like a troublemaker.

Overall, I think this campground is very over-priced. The pool and grounds are nothing special and certainly do not warrant the pricey fee. The campround itself is small and there is really no appeal to it's location - no lake, no hiking trails, no historic landmarks or attractions. The campground is located right next to a highway and you can hear cars accelerating on the road and there is a very busy railway crossing a 5 minute walk from the entrance at which the trains sound the horn with every crossing. I grew up next to train tracks so I slept through the 8 trains that passed during each night, but everyone else seemed very aware of them. Many of the people complained that it was difficult to get sleep. I think if this campground was more fairly priced I would have been more satisified with my stay.

You can tell the owners like their property and have put a lot into maintaining the grounds.

1. Pool - you’re asked to make an appointment for pool time (which is very sensible during Covid) but we went once and didn’t need it because it was quiet during the week. Great change rooms (clean) and the pool itself was great.

2. Sites - we were in 24 and loved it! Awesome privacy (lots of trees between the sites) but we also noticed a few group sites if you want to go with friends. Electric 30 amp but no water/sewer. We went out with a 2/3 full water tank for the week and were fine. Some noise from the close highway but not problematic.

3. Wi-Fi - none that we could find but still had cell reception.

4. Store - nicely set up and had a few basics. Slurpees and candy bags for the kids. Wood for $10 a package.

5. Playground - it had lots of room for bocce ball, a volleyball area, and a cute little playground with a train. Great place for kids.

We will definitely be back as it’s straight down Wye road from Sherwood Park :)

Lindbrook Stargazer - A little slice of heaven

If you are looking for a safe, relaxing well run and maintained, family oriented campsite to spend a day trip, weekend, week or more then Stargazers may well be your sanctuary too.
Close enough to Sherwood Park that many families spend the week here while the husband or wife make the short commute to the Park to work during the day and return after their day to have a campfire and distress from their hectic day.
The children and parents enjoy the immaculately clean swimming pool throughout the day, reveling in the warm clear water. Pool noodles and other water toys are available for use at no charge. When the kids tire of the pool, most weekends there are bingos, treasure hunts, and free entertainment provided by local musical talent under the gazebo.
Horseshoe pits, volleyball net and many trails entertain the older children and adults alike. I have never seen such a spectacular display of fireworks on Canada Day in a venue of this size. Amazing. A night filled with Oooos and Aaaahhs. Weekend craft activities are adored by children young and old. And did I mention the wonderful owner/operators. Tireless and committed to making your stay enjoyable.
The outhouses are cleaner than some gas station washrooms I have visited, eclectically lit with solar powered lights. But if prefer a more city like place to spend your throne time the indoor washrooms are extremely clean and even offer reasonably rated coin operated showers with plenty of hot water to wash off the campfire smoke.
Close to wilderness parks, bird sanctuarys and the Tofield golf course you will find it hard to run out of area activities. Tofield also owns bragging rights to a dollar store, reasonable family restaurant ( Tillys food is great and reasonably priced), video store and an ice cream stand that is too die for. Did I mention that Tofield Packers has the best pepperoni and beef jerky in the province, although some would argue their cuts of steak rule the bbq world. Tofields hardware, grocery stores and pharmacies are 10 minutes away.
Having bought firewood at the odd service station on occasion the large tubs of wood sold on site seem quite reasonable. But if you prefer to bring your own firewood, that is encouraged also.
Pets are welcome and an “on leash” rule is strictly enforced. It seems to me that the majority of campers bring their dogs, but all is quiet at night after ten. Sounds funny but even the children seem aware of the rules as I have observed them running around after quiet time, being quiet if you can believe it. Amazing.
One evening last summer I spent the better part of an evening watching and helping several of the “seasonal campers” help another camper repair his rv water line issues in the dark. Another night was spent helping another “seasonal” try and find a way to get a lady and her young daughter into her rv after she had locked her keys inside. Typical of the warm hearted, good-natured, pet loving people this campsite seems to attract.
A pond with a water fountain occupies the center of the main area and many people find it’s sound relaxing and soothing after a workday. It is on a timer and shuts off at night, leaving you to listen to the crackling sounds of numerous campfires and the laughter and conversations of children and adults alike.
After a peaceful nights sleep you awaken to the soothing sounds of chickadees welcoming the morning.
Did I mention the spectacular sunsets?
Would I recommend this campsite to friends and family?
I think you know the answer to that by now.

we have been coming to this campground for 8 years now and have seen the improvements that Deena and Dave have put into making your camping experience a memorable one. the outdoor heated pool is always in excellent condition with Dave making wooden lounge chairs to make you comfortable. Where else can you find the owners running a bingo game or crafts for the kids on a saturday afternoon. We celebrate canada day with fireworks, weddings and will even help you set up if you are a new camper. We highly reccommend star gazer and will not go anywhere else. cheers
