We travelled all around Malaysia and this last stop was just stunning! First the island, you're definitely in a luxury resort but wandering on the beach by canoe or walking makes you feel alone! If you want to meet people, go to the nice swimming pool otherwise you can be quiet wherever on the island! The location is amazing and...

I was lucky enough to spend two weeks on the incredible island of Batu Batu. Not only is this one of the most unspoilt nature experiences I can remember (pristine white sandy beaches, colourful coral reefs, thriving wildlife and lush rainforest) the staff could not have done more for us. Great food and super friendly service makes it feel like...

One of most luxury resort around Mersing, place in Tenga island. Accommodation, lunch and dinner have professional quality, pool is small but infinity style, you'll satisfy with all the services in the resort. The place is also famous as conservation of turtle, you can find series of turtle hatch at beach. White beach is quite nice and you can feel...

The island truly is a little bit of paradise. Clear and clean water. Turtles 30m from shore. Dolphins jumping in the distance. Coral and fish everywhere. Loads of beaches and a turtle sanctuary. The staff were lovely, especially in the restaurant. We would go back BUT there are some things to note. The resort plays on the rustic card which...

We went to Batu Batu from Singapore for our Spring Break 2017 Family Trip. The island is spectacular, truly beautiful from all angles. However we had a horrific experience that I would not want to happen to any other family. We were blessed that it didn't turn out worse. In the beach villa that we stayed in, my two boys...

The island is beautiful all around but I'd like to add a few comments to make it a true 5 star resort. 1. Long Beach needs a few shaded spots for travelers to seek refuge during a hot sunny day. A few chaises with colorful umbrellas out on the beach will do. 2. Provide to go boxes for those who...

Let's start with the positive - the island is very nice, several beaches, clear water and lush vegetation all around, hence well done nature for providing us with such great setting. Unfortunately human intervention let's the place down big time. The villa we stated in did not have proper maintenance or cleaning for very long time and was overall very...

Dear StefanoPizzuti, Thank you for your feedback after your stay with us. I am so pleased that you enjoyed the natural beauty of the island, however sad to read your comments about the human intervention on the resort. We have actually tried very hard to ensure that we keep human intervention to a minimum so that the island remains as...

My family (2 adults, 2 children aged 3 and 10 months) visited in March together with 3 other families. We travelled from Singapore to Mersing in our own car which was very straight forward and parking in Mersing was simple and cheap. The boat trip over was quick and issue-free. The island is beautiful, the sea was very calm and...

Let's start with the good stuff about the Batu Batu resort. The ocean is a spectacular aqua, the pool is small but really nicely done, the activities are run by a fun, friendly, committed and energetic team and the ambience is lovely. Throw in really helpful people at the Mersing Ferry port, a boat that makes short work of the...

Dear Steve W, Thank you for providing your feedback after your recent stay at our resort. We have been working on these issues and do appreciate that these defects should have been rectified. Our pricing is...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
BATU BATU is a rustic private island resort set amongst coconut groves, rocky outcrops and fine sand beaches on the tropical, uninhabited island of Pulau Tengah, Malaysia in the South China Sea. This simple resort is built from a variety of hard woods in the style of a Malay "kampung" or village. BATU BATU welcomes families with children. Whilst on Pulau Tengah, adults and children alike can enjoy the island's eight white sandy beaches, snorkel or dive amongst its colourful coral reefs and kayak or walk around its 3km perimeter. The open-sided pavilion restaurant and bar has 270-degree views across the sea and serves delicious European and Asian dishes. Guests can choose to relax with a cold drink at the Beach Bar, soak in the sea, play on the large white sand beaches or embark on an adventure through the island's dense forest. ... more   less
