Dad, my 2 brothers and myself were in Chester to celebrate the life of my Aunt Shirley. Dad had booked us this b&b. The location struck me first, sitting on a hill overlooking Mahone Bay, what a view! We were greeted at the door by the owner, Jacqui, who was very pleasant with a beautiful smile. She showed us around the place, very nice! We stayed in 2 of the 3 bedrooms which had their own bathrooms, showers and tv, shower pressure excellent by the way!😀 The complimentary breakfast is outstanding with 2 different options available daily. This place is only 6-10 mins max from Chester. Bottom-line, highly recommend this establishment. Jacqui & David are very gracious hosts who would go that extra mile for you! Sociable!!
Gray Gables is situated just a short drive away from the lovely village of Chester, and within easy walking distance of Graves Island Provincial Park. It is a fairly modern, purpose-built B and B, with three beautiful rooms, all with private baths. Our room was very clean and comfortable. There are two sitting areas for guests, equipped with books, games, and comfy furniture as well as a verandah and various outdoor amenities ( though we didn't use those this early in the season). We had a choice of two different breakfasts each day, and those we had were delicious, more than ample, and attractively presented. The water views from the property are endlessly fascinating. Our hosts, Jacqui and Dave, were very friendly and accommodating, and even went above and beyond expectations to recognize the special occasion we were celebrating. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Gray Gables, and hope we have the occasion to visit again!…
We had Spa passes at Sensea and chose this BnB to stay as it’s only two minutes away. We could not have been happier! There are three beautiful rooms, all with bathrooms in this cozy beach themed home. The shared spaces are very cozy and filled with books, magazines and games to play at your leisure. The view of Graves Island is spectacular and the property is huge. There’s a nice looking fire pit and a hot tub, although we had been in hot tubs all day so we opted out of that. The private rooms and very clean and comfortable with heat controls in the rooms. The beds and linens are nice and seem to be of great quality. Jacqui and Dave are incredible as hosts. They were both very easy to chat with and seemed genuinely interested in our visit to Chester. You get two breakfast options and both sounded great, ours was absolutely delicious. There was also 24 hour coffee/tea/hot chocolate station available in the kitchen area which was easy to use. The value for money here is unmatched. Jacqui is the perfect balance of welcoming, engaging and readily available at any time but also mindful of our privacy, there were no awkward moments at all. We will definitely book here again!…
I absolutely loved our stay. The b&b is even more beautiful in person. We stayed in the Bay Breeze room which was very nice , great view , extra blankets and robes and comfy bed. The house was very easy to find and breakfast was delicious! We will definitely be back. Jacqui was a great host.
We stayed in the Light house room during the winter season. We had a beautiful view of the ocean from our room and the common areas. Our room was very clean and cozy. Jacqui was a lovely, welcoming host and she provided us with a delicious French toast and sausage breakfast. I would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again. Thanks Jacqui!
Where do I begin? Everything about this place is incredible…Jackie and Dave are such gracious and welcoming hosts. Their B snd B was truly spectacular. The location was incredible and the morning view and sunrises were incredible. The best I’ve ever seen. The place was always so clean and neat. We spent the week with friends end it was one of the best holidays that we have ever had. This was our first time taking a vacation like this in Canada. We will definitely do it again… Better than a five star Caribbean resort. The breakfasts were incredible. The location was second to none. Beautiful walking trails and the town of Chester is a must see!! I even caught a glimpse of the Curse of Oak Island cast. We have been home now for or a few days and are already planing our next visit. The Cabot Trail in Cape Breton is a must do!!! Stunning scenery. We were able to sample the local flare and I have have a new appreciation for seafood…especially the seafood chowder. If you are looking for some time in one of the most beautiful places in Canada to visit, put this at the top of your list. We will definitely be back!…
Jacqui was very helpful when I decided I need a pcr covid test to return to the US. She and her husband Dave helped me decide where to bike before heading to Lunenburg. The meals were amazing. My room had an amazing king size bed. Please see pictures,
What a wonderfull B&B, from the time we arrived til the morning we left Jacqui made us feel very welcomed, she was a great hostess. We had a nice picnic on the front lawn overlooking the Bay, soaked in the hottub, sat out on the large deck watching the moon rise & in the morning watched the sun rise from our room. The breakfast was awesome, we will most definitely return. Terry & Jackie
