My wife and I had our wedding here on 14 April 2017 (in the superb Long Gallery and Great Hall), and we would both like to show our gratitude and deepest appreciation to the staff here, especially Nick and Jensen who were our event managers for our special day. Not forgetting Amelia and Ellie, who were always accessible (by email...

We arrived here and was given our room key feeling excited for a little break. Once we opened the room we were both very disappointed. We found the carpets dirty, paint on the wall not matching, tea, coffee and kettle in our wardrobe because the table is to small. And you're given sparking water it seams for tea as there...

This is described as Jacobean with plush rooms , it looks neither !!!! It has pebble dash walls and the rooms are shabby , small and basic . The service at reception was lovely and warm , I had a room opposite the karaoke bar . At night I could hear everyone coming back from the hotel bar and in...

We booked over the recent bank holiday weekend and reserved a superior room. From the previous reviews, we were glad that we had because although superior - and it was lovely - others had remarked on the carpets which really were so badly stained they let it down slightly. On the many positives - the building and gardens are just...

Wonderful country house located outside Ware, the garden and grounds are wonderful. The reception staff we welcoming, the standard of the property was not reflected in the Bedroom the furniture and carpets were stained and shabby, the wash hand basin plug was jammed shut and would not drain. The food in the bar was very average, but the staff were helpful....

A Mother's Day treat of an Alice in Wonderland afternoon tea. A beautiful Jacobean building with beautiful gardens. Very tranquil. But some modern glass extension and parts inside of the building around the bar is modernised and in my opinion spoil the place. Food was delicious, light and full of flavours. Waitress was very pleasant and attentive.

On the plus side the building and grounds are beautiful, the staff friendly and helpful and the food better than average. Unfortunately the rooms are tired and a bit tatty - chipped paintwork, heavy old fashioned furniture - and not suited to the business visitor the hotel aims at. Some rooms have no desk or table to sit and work...

We visited this hotel for the Alice in Wonderland afternoon tea yesterday for my mum's birthday and had a wonderful time. The inside of the hotel is immaculate and the grounds are stunning. The staff at the hotel were so helpful; nothing was too much trouble. The sandwiches were unusual and delicious. The scones were fresh and warm and the...
