Stayed 2 nights whilst we finalised a house move. I can see why it is a great wedding venue and it is steeped in history For me it is a hotel of "two halves".....the part the public see by way of grounds and restaurant etc...More
Had an overnight stay at Fanhams Hall Hotel with my partner. Overall, it has a lot to commend it but fundamentally it seems more geared to conference/wedding events than individual guests. I found the whole atmosphere a little bit 'cold' and this was possibly because...More
We booked for lunch as a club and were given a carvery in a nice function room. The bar where we met up was a bit small so not everyone could sit. Service a bit slow here and waited a long while for coffee
The rooms are a little small, no hot water is a recurring theme for a shower.
Breakfast is really good with a open buffet system with plenty of choice.
sitting in front of the fire is comfortable and cosy, good WiFi and beautiful grounds.

It's been a little while since we actually stayed at the hotel but I remember that there was plenty of choice for vegetarians. You could also preorder a special breakfast when you checked in. They couldn't have been more helpful. I'm sure the level of service is still the same. We had Sunday lunch at Fanhams again on 16th July and it was fantastic as always. So much choice on the starter tables for vegetarians and the dessert table is amazing. Plus, unusually for a carvery, fish was an option if you didn't want beef, pork or chicken. It's still one of our favourite places for Sunday lunch. We enjoy going there so much we have already booked a room for New Years Eve.
