After reading all the reviews over the past few years, there are some changes that should be noted. 1. Showers are all fresh water now. The resort is very well managed by Chris and one cannot be disappointed in dives, food or service. All the staff go above and beyond to make your stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible....

Sorido Bay came recommended from friends who have dived in Raja Ampat and didn't want to go the Live Aboard option and I have to say, I was not disappointed. There are very few land based resort options to dive this part of the world and having a place as amazing as Sorido Bay really makes the whole experience enjoyable...

I first visited here in 2006 and returned to stay on land as opposed to doing a live aboard charter. It took me three days and 3 long flights , plus layovers, to reach Kri Island from California. The Raja Ampat area in general has been "discovered", and the waters near Cape Kri were full of live aboards and groups...

The staff and accomodation are first rate. Lovely bungalows by the water. Great diving supported by friendly, knowledgeable guides. Food is very good and all round it's a treat. The house reef is huge and there are very good sites nearby. Special trips at longer distance included some extraordinary scenes. Wifi in the resort is limited to the main building...

We began our mornings by strolling out on the long wooden dock, surrounded by turquoise water lapping at the white beaches. The water was so clear that you could see every little fish playing hide and seek in the coral below you, and before you knew it you saw dozens of black tip reef sharks slowly patrolling under the piers....

We had an absolutely wonderful experience staying at Sorido Bay Resort in Raja Ampat and highly recommend it to anyone thinking of visiting this area of the world. Firstly, anyone considering visiting Raya Ampat should pick to stay in a resort rather than a liveaboard. There is no existing boat moorning system so liveaboards in the area destroy, on a...

I’m not a terribly experienced diver as I got my certification about 20 years ago, and have only 130 dives to my credit. But I make it a point to drag my gear on travels with my wife whenever we will be close to a good dive spot. As a result I have had the privilege of diving at many...

I set out on a two day journey from the States to dive Raja Ampat after roughly one year of planning. Travel from Oregon to Raja Ampat is not quick, giving me an opportunity to imagine what the impending experience might hold. Four flights, a boat ride and two days later, I stepped off the marine transport to something askew...

Max is the owner of this resort. We are divers and do not believe in live aboard dive boats. Max is totally dedicated to Papua. He is devoted to the people and the reefs. Any negative comments do not reflect on him or his genuine care. I am originally from Montana so I equated this to a "hunting trip." For...
