I recently stayed at Yabbiekayu Homestay Bungalows for two nights with my son and his wife. Staying at Yabbiekayu gave us a unique taste of old Javanese living. It is hidden away in a small village area on the edge of paddy fields, just 8km south of Yogjakarta. Each of the Javanese wooden houses (bungalows) had an old worldly feeling,...

We took time to visit yogyakarta and surroundings in 2 weeks with yabbiekayu as a home. From awesome beaches to sulfur Volcanic landscapes, going throught genuine javanese culture, tropical forest, experiences and of course highly recommended famous temples, each day was an adventure. Our trip wouldnt have been so immersive without yabbiekayu. The team was trully helpfull, discreet and aimed...

Thanks Yummimurdock for the wonderful review. We are so thankful that you chose to stay at Yabbiekayu for two weeks. So many travellers are here so briefly and don't get to see all the wonders the area has to offer. I'm so happy that you liked Yabbiekayu so much as to make it your base for the whole of your...

I can only recommend Yabbieykayu. It’s an extraordinary place with extraordinary people running it. Not sure where to start, the location, the accomodation, the food, the athmosphere or the soul the place has has. My friend who has been staying at Yabbiekayu multiple times took me there for a couple of days for work and I truly regretted not to...

As crew of a TV production from the Netherlands we've all stayed in Yabbiekaju for almost a month. I stayed in the Pondok Kayu. Although much simpler than the rest of the bungalows it really felt like a home away from home. The bed is good and the room and bathroom are always clean. The bed has a mosquito net....

What tempted me about the pictures of the property when I decided to book my stay at Yabbiekayu, was it's simple charm, traditional styled bungalows, the view of the paddy fields around. And when a friend also recommended the place, I was sold. Yabbiekayu exceeds expectations, and every good review here holds true. The staff (we interacted mostly with Babun,...

Thanks so much Patsavant for your lovely review. We don't tend to overly push our permaculture credentials, but permaculture thinking and sustainability form the basis of our edible landscaping and bungalow design. We try to incorporate these elements in ways that allow our guests to encounter our sustainability features as pleasant features and an extra added benefit rather than a...

Very romantic place in the outskirts of Yogyakarta. We stayed at an authentic Javanese cabin with an outdoor bathroom and private terrace. We absolutely loved it. Nothing beats sitting in the bath tub together underneath the stars! Super romantic! A delicious breakfast is included with the possibility to enjoy it at the private terrace at a small additional fee. Thank...

Everything was done to perfection, from the personal villas to the presentation of dishes, there's absolutely nothing I can complain about. The breathtaking scenery and village-type atmosphere really helped to shake off the stress of Jakarta that we'd experienced few days earlier. Couldn't help but feel like VIP while we were at Yabbiekayu.
