It was my first hostel in Brazil and it overcame expectations, I'd have stayed more if I could, the rooms are clean, breakfast is pretty good and the trees make it the perfect spot for chilling out after a long day enjoying this amazing island

This hostel is about a 15 minute walk from the pier at Abrao. Ilha Grande does not have roads, just sandy tracks so this in itself is a mission in the heat if you have a suitcase rather than a rucksack. You can pay men at the pier who have carts to transport bags. The surroundings of the hostel are...

I wanted to stay longer. The hostel is so nice, surrounded by trees and plants. It is not close to the centre, but I didn't mind. It is a place to relax. The rooms are spacious and clean. The bathroom is good. The breakfast is amazing! The best I had in Brazil. The people are nice and helpful. WiFi is...

A nice 'Eco' feel about it. It is under 10 minutes walk from Abrao centre, mostly uphill, set more in the forest. We stayed in a private double ensuite - they are mini cabins which are cute but a bit small. Air con was a nice surprise as this was not advertised. However, note that this hostel DOES NOT have...

Stayed in an 8 bed dorm (4 x 2 level bunks) which had its own ensuite, room was spacious and cleaned daily. Great breakfast every morning with plenty of fruits and cake along with the standard bread rolls. Has a really chilled vibe and feels really secluded however it is only a short 5min walk from the pier. Has decent...

We stayed in mixed 6bed dorm with ensuite bathroom which was cleaned daily. The hostel is so cool and relax, great area for hanging out in beautiful surroundings. We met other people staying in poussadas who came chilling with us at Holandes everyday. Breakfast is varied and extensive for a hostel also staff will help you with whatever you need....

Wasn't sure what to make of Holandes on first impressions. Ended up here because of lack of accommodation available, bit was really glad to stay here. It's nicely tucked away, but 5-7minute walk to the pier. Nice surroundings, really chilled and peaceful. The staff here work really hard and was seriously impressed with how much they do to keep the...

Me and my friend are backpacking and stayed in this hostel a few days ago. We came straight from Rio and it was like arriving in paradise! Bit confused to be walking far from the beach but when we arrived we were so happy! The rooms are very clean and spacious and you feel like you are right in the...

Relaxing. We were here four nights. The price is exactly worth it. Hammocks every corner, fantastic breakfast, private and clean showers and toilets for the big rooms. The location is slightly far but who cares? Beautiful, quiet, with an big kitchen for cooking. Oh, and it has a free water cooler!
