Wow! How to start on this. What a great place. The staff were super helpful and friendly, the owner is just an amazing person, always up to help too.
The amenities were really nice, the bangalô were the icing on the cake… what a nice peaceful ambiance, plus the room was nice and spacious and the beds are really comfy!
Thank you for the great experience.

Ooohh we also loved the breakfast! So tasty!

We stayed here for 2 nights in a chalet. The gardens were beautiful and the chalet was comfortable. The breakfast was very good with lots of choice. The location was good, away from the hustle & bustle but only a few minutes walk away. The swimming pool area was very relaxing after a long hike and we spent a few hours lazing on a sunbed watching and listening to the wildlife. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. We would definitely stay here again!

We stayed here as part of gap adventures and what a dive!!!! There were some nice open fresh smelling rooms that we were not a part of, instead they accommodated us in a small urine smelling dive of a room up the back of the property. When we complained about it we were told that this was the smell of the island as there is no sewerage system!!! The beds were ridiculously hard. Be prepared to pay for everything!!! Air conditioning and safety box came with a price, wifi only worked in dining room and even then you couldn't get on it!!! Breakfast was average. You need to open the windows to try and get rid of the stench and there are no fly screens on any windows and doors so be prepared to get eaten alive. Watch out for the owner, she's the cranky one on the front desk!!!! Despite all of this the staff are friendly and were happy to teach some lingo and even learnt a few Aussie words!

This hotel is the worst hotel\hostel we have ever stayed in. I will be providing this information to G adventures as we stayed there with them. I contemplating leaving hotel and paying for my own accommodation the room was that bad.

Stayed here with G Adventures (which I also would not recommend at all) for 2 nights. Firstly the lady at reception was unbelievably rude! Really unhelpful when we asked about the rooms and breakfast, started off badly and didn't get much better. We had rooms on the top floor but there was no lift so had to drag heavy suitcases up a rickety flight of stairs. There was also no air-con in the room, they were trying to charge us to use it for 24 hours which was totally out of order considering how much we were already paying! Breakfast was very basic, and left in the open so flies were able to get in. Not really ideal, bathroom wasn't very clean either. Luckily Ihla Grande is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited, just a shame the accommodation was so rubbish.

Super friendly owner, speaks English well. Nice breakfast (lots of fresh exotic food!!). Pricey but so is all accomodation in Ilha Grande. Very clean, simple and neat rooms. We had a junior suite, next time we would go for one of the chalets (separate bungalows with a hammock in front). If you come to Ilha Grande - that's a great place to stay :). Oh yes and they offer coffee, tea and good cake for free during the day.

I'm a seasoned traveler having been to 70 countries and this is one of the worst places I've every stayed in. It was part of a G-Adventures tour from Iguassu Falls. Right from the start we had rude and unfriendly service from the female manager, whom I dubbed The Dragon Lady. She never smiled during our two-day stay and her staff, particularly in the breakfast room, were just as unfriendly and rude. I arrived one morning at 10 minutes before 8, hoping to get a coffee while I checked my email as this was the only place in the resort offering wifi. But as breakfast only started at 8 (very late for a resort where people want to get out hiking or boating early to get ahead of the heat), the guardians of the breakfast room told me very rudely that "No" I couldn't have a coffee an had to sit and wait until exactly 8 a.m.! Not like I wanted food, just a coffee. It was self-serve anyway, but clearly they had been told by the manager not to accommodate anyone! Not a good attitude for a resort. When we arrived, a resort worker was pounding a hammer into a concrete wall just across from us. My friend was feeling ill and wanted to have a nap so I had to ask for him to stop. The other irritating things about this place were that they expected us to pay to use the safety deposit box in the room, as well as the air conditioning. I understand that A/C is expensive, but why nickel and dime guests over a safety deposit box when it's in the resort's best interest to keep guests' belongings safe, especially when they're out at the beach or hiking. Our room was clean, but tiny and the bathroom was one of the most cramped I've ever seen, with no shelves to put our things. We could barely turn around in there. The rooms also had no closet or even hooks to hang clothes. Isle Grande is gorgeous and there are many other better places to stay. Hopefully tour companies like G-Adventures will start paying attention to this and stop using this awful place where guests are made to feel unwelcome! A traveler likes to feel welcome and care about, not treated like a pest. The location wasn't great either. We had to walk down a long muddy road every day to get to the town where the restaurants and shops were located.

Hotel is a good walk to town with shops and restaurants, they try to keep it clean but rooms are a bit dated and pretty bare and bathrooms were tiny. You would do well to book one of the chalets at this resort at least it will give you a little more room and privacy. We had to refuse our first room as the fridge didn't have an outlet to plug into and we had a sideboard that actually covered half the door to the already tiny bathrooms. They had two pools but honestly I wouldn't go into either, one was almost green and covered in leaves and the other was pretty mirky. Breakfast was included and was fine with a nice selection of juices and fresh baked goods. Jus keep in mind this id no Fairmont and you will be fine.
