This was my fifth trip to Ilha Grande, and Rubi Pousada was by far the best pousada I've stayed in on the island so far. The room and common areas were immaculately clean, the staff friendly and very welcoming, with uninterrupted ocean views from the front rooms. Breakfast included a wide range of options, and the cakes served for afternoon tea were home made and quite impossible to say no to. the town with all restaurants, bars, supermarkets etc is just a short walk away, and the staff were very helpful in providing advice for local activities and tours. There is also a spa and sauna which can be reserved through reception and is a great way to finish a long day of hiking across the island. I will definitely stay again on future trips to Ilha Grande.

We stayed one night at Rubi (we really wanted to try as well Bonito Paraiso so we stayed 1 night there as well). All was perfect: the location (walking distance from the boat arrival in Abraao), ALL the people who were super friendly, the room which smelled and looked fresh and clean, and the food (breakfast with home made cakes, etc.); there are beaches nicer than the ones in Abraao so I recommend to take a boat to explore other locations, but Rubi is a gem on the island (ps: lua de mar is 25 meters from Rubi for a romantic diner, with sunset & feet in the water)

Really great for Ilha Grande - the service, breakfast, location, facilities, makes a difference on such a tranquil island. Massive fan of the island and nice to see increasingly good spots popping up though not at the expense of the area.
Only one thing is pretty pricy for what it is objectively.

Beautiful pousada with very nice staff. Attention to detail on everything they do. Breakfast is great and also the afternoon tea is a plus. The staff Gabi and Bia are always happy to see you and e sure you are having a good time at the ilha grande paradise. Extremely clean and they also have a hot tub!

Beautiful inn located in Abraao. A bit away from the noise and facing the sea. The reception girls are unbeatable, high quality, cordial, and super friendly. I had an accident during my vacation, and they helped me in every way they could. They're amazing! Thank you so much, girls! The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and very new. It's evident that maintenance is constant. The breakfast is delicious! They make homemade things that are hard not to repeat. The inn has an outdoor jacuzzi and a sauna. A must-visit if you're on the island. Very grateful to all the staff. I had an excellent vacation.

I was part of a group of four who stayed here. We greatly enjoyed our stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They provided recommendations for great dining in the area, and they helped us find an earlier transfer off the island when we needed it. They were also nice to talk to. Some other things to note:
- The breakfast is terrific. They will make scrambled or fried eggs if you ask. They even accommodated a request to make egg-white-only eggs. - This place is right next to the beach. - They have a jacuzzi. The sauna is great. - The AC works quite well. - The water pressure of the shower was strong. - It is quiet at night. Che is not too far away for live music and drinks.
A strong recommendation from the four of us.

We highly recommend it to everyone coming to Ilha grande! It was so much more than we expected- especially with the complimentary 1h of private use of jacuzzi & sauna :) But firstly the incredible service of EACH ONE of the staff team! Couldn’t say it enough- thanks everyone for your care, smile and professionalism - we already looking forward to seeing you again! For the property: everything is super clean and well decorated, it have a new feeling to it. The rooms: definitely take the sea view room!! With the balcony! Breakfast: amazing! Generous and complete Bonus- you get hot drinks & some sweets in the afternoon Great air conditioning, wifi, bed, minibar, shower! As I said, perfection. Beautiful, well-kept guesthouse, perfect location, right on the sand at Praia do Abraão. Everything perfect, good-sized room, silent air, nice mattress, great bathroom, quality bed/bath linen. Delicious hot tub, very nice sauna. What delights most is the human side of the inn, the staff are very dedicated and committed to the guest's well-being. It would be unfair to single out just one, they are all incredible. Super delicious breakfast, everything fresh. There is an afternoon coffee every day from 5pm to 6pm, a treat. Anyway, I highly recommend it, go without fear, the photos are real and you will be in a wonderful place and very well attended.

O terminal rodoviário de Angra dos Reis está localizado na entrada da cidade, próximo à BR-101 (Rio-Santos). Para chegar até o centro da cidade, onde está o cais de embarque para a Vila do Abraão - Ilha Grande, pode ser utilizado um ônibus regular, que parte a cada 5 minutos, uber ou táxi (em frente a rodoviária).
No cais Santa Luzia há o flexboat com saída a cada hora, a partir das 08:00h até às 18:00. Já no cais da Barca, os horários são: De Seg. a Quin. - 15:00 h // De Sex,Sáb e Dom- 13:00 h
Chegando na Vila do Abraão, para quem chega no Cais do Abraão, a pousada fica a 300 metros, caminhando pela areia da praia, que também passa por um pequeno rio . Ou cerca de 7 a 10 minutos pela rua paralela à praia.
Para quem chega no Cais da Barca, adicione 5 minutos ao trajeto.
Se puder, troque a mala de rodinha por uma mochila, uma pequena parte do trajeto até a pousada é feito pela areia.
No cais há carreteiros que fazem o serviço de frete para levar a bagagem até a pousada.
