Detailed Reviews
The place is simply amazing, starting with the stuff, location, facilities, it's truly a little paradise. Matheus and Flavia were helpful before the arrival, we got all the info, tips and help in reaching O Sitio. They answered all the question and gave excellent tips about all aspect of life on the island, beaches, restaurants etc. When you arrive on the beach by a little boat taxi, it's a wonderful little beach. The property is located just up from the beach, scattered throughout the most beautiful tropical garden, which I believe has won best, most beautiful garden in Brazil.! The rooms are lovely, clean and every detail is thought about. Matheus, Flavia and rest of the stuff are always there to help and make you feel like you are staying at your own little retreat.
Hotel is on the beautiful beach which is never busy. The main town is just 5 min by water taxi which is easily arranged with help of Flavia or Matheus, so if you like to go to town every night or every other night for dinner, it is very easy. You can have nice dinner at the O Sitio also. Breakfast is wonderful and cooked to order.
It's the perfect oasis and one of the most wonderful places i've seen anywhere...

O Sitio is a truly special place, specially because of their set philosophy in making the guest experience the best as possible and relaxing as it could be.
The food is amazing, the cook, Marinalva can make wonders in the kitchen. Matheus, Amanda and Flavia are always attentive to all details and guest needs. They sure add to the whole beautiful experience.
I am definitely going back in a regular basis.
The only downside is when you have to leave. Feels like you are leaving your home.

Amazing small boutique hotel with very personalized service. We really appreciated the useful, perfectly succinct advice regarding hiking excursions and restaurants. The accommodations were quite comfortable and serene. Enjoyed the hammocks and bird books. The local beach was great for swimming “laps”. The breakfast was plentiful with delicious fresh fruit juice and fresh eggs to order. Lunch and dinner are on offer from a somewhat limited menu but good (the homemade hummus was superb). Location is a 20 minute walk / hike to main town that requires getting feet to hips wet, depending on tide; can also pay for a short boat ride (included on check in and out). Highly recommend.

Don’t miss the opportunity, private beach and walking distance to main town couldn’t ask for something better. If you aren’t feeling like walking, you can take a boat with a great captain that will pick you up at the desire hr. Great staff and delicious dinner, immerse yourself in nature while staying confortable in a Luxury and completely private suite!

My partner and I stayed in O Sitio in November 2021 and could not recommend it enough!
Firstly the location is great, a short walk through the forest into Abraão for the restaurants and shops but a quick water taxi away for the less adventurous. However you could come and never leave as the Sitio itself is incredible and so beautifully maintained. The rooms are lovely and clean, had all of the amenities that we needed and we had no issues with the WiFi the whole time, it worked perfectly in our room with no issues.
Most importantly to us and why we will always remember our time at O Sitio was because of the people we met. Mateo and Amanda made our holiday, from time minute we arrived they met us with open arms and were so friendly. If we ever needed anything they were both available to help day or night, full of recommendations of what to do on the island with very helpful directions of how to get there! There hospitality was like none we have ever experienced before and we are so thankful to have met you both - thank you.
Also a big thank you to Anna for making our delicious meals in the evenings, your cooking is lovely and would highly recommend eating in the restaurant as the food is so tasty and portions are large! Breakfast is also great and so plentiful, the team can prepare anything you ask for, and the quality of the ingredients was so fresh with most of it being home made!
O Sitio is a must stay if your looking at accommodation for the island, don’t bother looking anywhere else! We hope to be back, Jade and Dom from London :)

We had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful location for a week in January. This is simply heaven on earth and just the most peaceful and gorgeous location we have ever visited.
Michel and his wife have created a truly magical spot. We woke up every morning and went paddle boarding on the empty beach before before sitting and having breakfast in the most gorgeous surroundings.
The one thing that makes this place even more special is the staff. They are all excellent (Amanda, Marianne and ??) were all so nice, giving us advice, helping with plans and serving the most amazing drinks. All the guys who help with bags and keep the place clean etc are just lovely people.
The breakfast is amazing and we loved sitting drinking caipirinhas on our terrace. There is also amazing Wi Fi throughout the hotel.
We did the walk once into town and it took 30 minutes, other times we just got the boat there and back.
We ate most times at Bonito just up the beach, so didn’t really venture far from the hotel as there wasn’t a need. Just stay on the beach and at the hotel at night and enjoy the tranquility when any day trippers have left.
Make sure you get a chance to speak with Michel, he is such a lovely human being and also visit the clearing they have created facing the big tree everyday.
This was just a special place for us and we hope to come back one day.

My family and I had an incredible stay at this amazing property. The Sitio is beautifully decorated, and the layout is well thought out for both coming together as well as finding your own space. The landscape is breathtaking. Every attention to detail has been addressed. Wake up to fresh offerings that get you ready to tackle the day feeling clean and refreshed.! Steps to the small beach below the property where it's quiet and quaint like your own little island. We can't wait to go back soon.

We had a lovely 4 night stay at O'Sitio. We were lucky enough to book the deluxe suite and it was really nice! Nice, comfy bed with a lovely bathroom and bath products to use at the end of the day exploring the island. A really nice day bed in the living room where you could read a book, looking and listening to the rainforest outside your door.
The gardens and the forest location were really beautiful. You are just steps to the beach, but nestled in the forest. The sights and sounds of all the birds and other creatures in the forest were so lovely!
The food and drinks menu were very simple but of high quality. We walked 5 mins down the beach to Bonito Paraiso a couple of nights to eat just to change up the routine. Their restaurant is quite good as well. We didn't feel the need to go to town at night after being out all day exploring everything the island has to offer. We did walk over to town once for lunch - you have to walk through town to get to the waterfall hike - then ate lunch on our way back.
There was lots to do on the island - the staff at O'Sitio will give you great recommendations. All of the staff were super professional and just really, really nice! If you are going to Ilha Grande, I would highly recommend staying at O'Sitio!

I have never stayed anywhere like this before. O Sitio is a comfortable escape in paradise. The staff is extremely welcoming and accommodating, full of wisdom and advice for exploring Ilha Grande. The rooms and common areas are well maintained and comfortable, and the location and garden is breathtaking. The food was so good, we didn't venture into Vila do Abraao at all for any meals, preferring to enjoy the homecooked food. I would go back in a heartbeat if I could

The most beautiful property and amazing place in Ilha Grande. We loved our stay here - the food is very good, the grounds are gorgeous, and the service is so nice. The beach here is perfect for little kids as well and we loved using the kayaks and stand up paddle boards. We will definitely be back.
