Cool people and I left my AirPod pro headphones and they sent them to me. Even after the post office was shutdown for the pandemic they found a way. The beds are better then average and they have decent priced drinks. . The best hostel ever

This is the place to stay in Ilha grande.. Great hostel very clean and secure.. The have one of the bests breakfast I had in a hostel.. The staff is very honest, I left my passport with over 1000 dollars after check out, they immediately ran after me, when they didn't find me they kept it safe until the next day.. They saved my trip!! Thank you so much!!

The hostel is very clean and the lady at the reception kindly upgraded us from a 6 bed dorm to a private twin room.
It was in a good location and the bar was great. The only issues was the lack of soundproofing which made the room quite noisy.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The room were clean and the breakfast was great. The staff did not speak english and at the the start they wanted me and my girlfriend to stay in seperated mixeed rooms. After a little time of negotiating they solveed this and we stayed in the same room. This hostel have big potential butt they need to clean the shower and toiletts better. If you stay here bring buggrepelent and earpluggs because of the musik from the hostelbar.

Brilliant hostel. Clean and well equipped. Best hostel on the island. Was really easy to get to the tours and trips. Less than 5 minutes walk to anything you need. Owner is really friendly. This place gets booked really quickly. They only have 17 beds. Book way in advance.. you won't regret it! Highly recommended.

Our group booked the eight bed dorm on the first floor and stayed four nights. The room was really clean, hostel decor is modern and it's a relatively new hostel so facilities good.
The dorm was spacious but the hostel itself is very compact, just 17 beds in total, and can feel a little claustrophobic after a few days. Shared bathroom is just off the communal kitchen (which you have to walk through to get two and from the two showers / one toilet), as are the dorms - and all just a few steps then to the public bar downstairs. Beds are comfy, however be warned that you can hear EVERYTHING in the dorm above (and vice-versa). Literally everything. Even a basic conversation between folks and we had a particularly interesting experience with a lady being violently ill at 4.30am above us - felt like we were right there with her holding her hair!
Staff are nice, hostel is family run, and the free breakfast is basic but tasty fare (eggs, ham, cheese, bread, delicious juice etc.) It was particularly hot the first couple of days and they were happy for us to use the AC more than specified - so flexible as well - but there was a bit of undue rationing of the toilet roll and hand wash in the loo.
Even though there is a bar downstairs (German themed, hence the name) it was a nice and quiet spot. A good choice if you want to veer away from the Che Legarto madness. You can still dip the toe into the hostel parties at Che as they are open to outside guests - Che Legarto and the hostel beside it usually alternate party nights.
The island itself is amazing and you'll not regret adding to your itinerary. We had a lovely time and Lopez Mendes beach is an absolute must.

We stayed here 3 nights in a 3 bed dorm we had to ourselves. We were checked in by Pablo, who was super helpful and spoke great English. He was able to advise us on all the boat times and prices, and also where to get our bus leaving Angra dos reis to Paraty. The hostel was quite quiet when we stayed so felt like we had it to ourselves which was nice. Very chilled out atmosphere, rooms were clean, staff were helpful.
Strange wee smell up stairs though ( think it could be the cleaning products? Or the wood stain? )
Apparently you can’t bring beer bought from outside the hostel here which was a bummer (backpacker on a budget) supermarket beers are obviously half the price of what they sell for in the hostel. Other than that, really enjoyed our stay here! 👍🏼

Loved our stay here for 2 nights in one of the private rooms. Through the main gate it is a place of peace, and we loved sitting out in our hammock on the terrace. I would say that it is expensive, but I think that's just Ilha Grande prices in general.Would definitely recommend this great little find!

A wonderful little hostel on Isla Grande. We spent 4 nights here and were greeted by friendly staff on arrival. Situated one road back from the main strip on the beach it had an ideal location. A bar was in the hostel that stayed open until 10. We had a 4 person room and the beds were comfortable and the rooms spacious. The price was still good at £15 a night. There was a restaurant connected to the hostel and a supermarket just round the corner. The island is well worth a visit with some great treks as well as other things to do such as boat tours and scuba diving. I'd recommend staying there if visiting

Such a nice hostel. Cost ~ R$120 p/n for double room, shared bathroom inc breakfast; we really enjoyed our stay. A good happy hour, comfortable bed, friendly staff, and the per kilo buffet was a delight. Not a bug in sight either!
Be warned, if the weather isn't great it's difficult to enjoy Ilha Grande; we had rain so couldn't explore to the full. Best Caipirinha in Brasil. We would definitely recommend biergarten.

the beds are single beds, quite confortable, all provided with a lamp and big compared with other hostels I was before. There were nordic and Dutch tourists, very tall persons, and I didn't have the impression they didn't fit in.
