Very basic hostel but was fine for a couple of nights. Staff were nowhere to be seen during the two nights there (except on check out to make sure we paid and there was a staff member making breakfast). Bed was a thin mattress on a very hard base and we hung up towels over the windows so we had some privacy (otherwise anyone could see in to our room). Shared bathrooms had no soap which raised some hygiene concerns (particularly as this is the bathroom that staff in the hostel would have used being right next to the kitchen where breakfast was made and reception). Wifi was average (but think that is the island generally).

Ilha Grande is a great place to stay tet-a-tet with amazing tropical nature. Nativo Hostel was the place, that helped to start this exciting tandem :) We really liked the room, food and staff. Everything went without any problems, but basic Portuguese is a MUST on the island... otherwise you will have problems with communications and will definitely pay more for everything :)

I was very confused at arrival here: the building looked like a ruin. No one of the staff was present that moment, luckily one of the guests gave me the wifi password otherwise I would have waited 30 minutes doing nothing. I slept at a 6-bed dorm, the bathroom was very dirty. I will spare you the pictures. Breakfast was very basic: two slices of bread with either cheese or ham. The kitchen could be used to prepare your meals, but I would not recommend this for hygienic reasons. Wifi usually had a poor strength. Taking this all in account, I would you not recommend this hostel. The HI Holland hostel, which is just around the corner of Nativo, is definitely a better choice but was fully booked during my stay at Ilha Grande.

When we told the manager Dani that we will be here for 3-4 days, and he took money for one night. He didnt tell us that there is no place for us for the whole days. After 2 night we got kicked from here with no where else to sleep with the clame that we didnt payed from advance. We didnt know that we suposed to do that. When we argued with them they threaten us with calling the police instead of healping. Bad people bad experience.

Consider going somewhere else! No "security", a local drunk bothered us and other hostel guests. We felt very unsafe!
Dirty mattresses, overall the place saw better times... Maybe its better now, it seemed that the first floor was being renovated.
No English speaking staff (just one guy spoke English).
Yes, it really was that bad. Just consider to go somewhere else, stayed at various hostels during our 4 week trip through South America, this was easily the worst of them all.

Oi, esse hostel não é meu não, eu só fiz uma avaliação dele no site. Até onde eu sei todos os quartos são compartilhados, não me lembro de ter nenhuma suÃte privada não. Quanto à localização, ele é bem perto do pÃer, dá uns 5 minutos andando, porque em Ilha Grande tudo fica perto. Sugiro você ligar pro hostel pra tirar as suas dúvidas.
