Stayed 6 nights in one bedroom , 2nd floor oceanview unit C203. Beautiful view of ocean beyond the golf course. Unit was very spacious with large living area and balcony. Kitchen was well equipped, and stackable washer/dryer much appreciated. The extra half bath was very convenient,as we had our teenage son with us. Parking was covered, assigned and very close by the unit. We arrived after hours, but the lockbox on the unit with the key was very easy, and management is very responsive by text or phone call if you have any questions. Really enjoyed our stay in Mauna Lani. It never seemed crowded , as access throughout the community is carefully controlled with key card at beach club and coded access gates. We booked through Hyatt, and highly recommend this property. Friendly, helpful staff, beautiful location, and well maintained, spacious unit. Mahalo!

All of the condo units in the complex are large and airy with spacious lanaii or patio (on 1st floor). Truly a luxury complex. The kitchen and bathroom in our one bedroom unit (B201) were dated and worn and could use a make-over. Keep that great sub-zero fridge though. Both the indoor and outdoor furniture however were nice and comfy as was the bed. There were no condiments provided in the kitchen but there is a nice grocery store nearby. There is a lovely walking trail along the water leading all the way to the Fairmont Orchid. We really enjoyed our morning walks. Mauna Lani Point resort also gives you access to the nearby Beach Club which is lovely little beach great for snorkeling. The pool and hot tub area is nice and private. There is full outdoor kitchen as well as several barbecues. We would stay at Mauna Lani Point again. Great option if you like self-serve roomy accommodation.

It’s hard to evaluate or describe a place that’s picture perfect in every respect. They truly thought of everything. I know it depends on the unit, but our condo was roomy and comfortable and the furniture looked relatively new. There were no stains, tears or scratches on anything. The kitchen was fully stocked with every dish, pot, pan, flatware and small appliance that you could possibly need. We had a golf course view which was fine because it’s an easy walk to the beach. And, the walking trail was wonderful, which we used every day for our morning walks. Last, but not least, the bed was comfy and the bathrooms were fully stocked with upscale amenities (bath gel, lotion, shampoo, conditioner). Truly a luxurious experience and I highly recommend it. We can’t wait to go back!

The Mauna Lani resort property is gorgeous, and it's the perfect area to stay in if you want to be close to the action without being in it. We loved being in a gated community, and the beach club (great place for lunch!) was a bonus. That said, as others have mentioned, the individual units at Mauna Lani Point seem to vary greatly. We requested a second floor ocean view room upon booking and ended up in a ground floor unit (B101) with a partial ocean view at best. The unit wasn't as clean as we'd have liked, and while there were plenty of pots/pans/dishes in the kitchen, there were no basic cooking supplies such as salt, pepper, oil, foil, saran, etc. During our stay, we had maintenance out just to show us how a few things worked, which seemed unnecessary. I'd love to see management put together a welcome binder to leave in each unit that contains some basic information about both the interior (light switches, remotes, A/C controls) and surrounding property. Now that we know how the resort is laid out, we'd stay again, but only if we could book a specific unit. It'd be nice if the option to do that could be made available online with photos included that are specific to each one.

We were notified 6pm night before flying to big island mauna lani point condos that some pipe refitting would be done in our building. It was next door with work close to bedroom wall. I said this was unacceptable. We were sent to see a condo in another area with no oceon view( we payed for one) or golf course view, we went to payed for condo and construction working and gal said see how quiet they are, well next day the jackhammer started and had to leave immediately . No other condo available . We had to leave each day and could not stay and relax. The guys said they had been working on it for 3weeks. 6 days later more men were working on the condo on other side, so now work on both sides! We called and said could move to another one after it was cleaned, waited hours till done and moved. The couple below us said their condo had been finished 3 weeks ago! Wow and no one called to see if we would book another time, which we could have easily. Response from management was, we will make note of it, unacceptable, won't go thru destination resorts ever, owned by Hilton

Mahalo for your stay at Mauna Lani Point. I am sorry to hear there was pipe construction that interfered with your vacation in Hawaii. For large construction projects such as these, we do our best to move guests away from impacted construction areas so there is minimal impact on their stay. Sometimes construction plans are delayed (such as in this case) and we are informed very last-minute of revised schedules and make every effort to communicate these updates to our guests and find a suitable alternative for them. It sounds like we worked with you multiple times throughout your stay to try and find a vacant residence to move you to that met your preferences, but can understand how that can be a disruption on your relaxing vacation. If you are considering a future return to the Mauna Lani area and willing to give us another try, I encourage you to give our team a call so we can speak with you directly and find the perfect accommodation with preferred views and décor so that you can stay in your dream vacation rental. I am confident we can provide you with the dream Hawaii vacation you are looking for. Mahalo Destination Residences Kona-Kohala Guest Services Team Part of Destination by Hyatt

We booked a 2 bedroom ocean view unit with a pull out sofa bed and 2.5 baths for 5 people. When we arrived, our unit, E205, did not have a sofa bed or a half bathroom. The office said they could move us but we wouldn’t have the ocean view which was important. They brought us a roll away bed which my 79 year old mother slept on, it was not comfortable. She also had to walk into a bedroom to use a bathroom in the middle of the night as we didn’t get the 1/2 bath we booked.
The unit had a great view and lanai but it is very old and needs updating. The carpet, especially in the master bedroom was stained and disgusting. The furniture in the master was old and rickety. The master bathroom faucet was broken and the sink did not drain very well. The area is gorgeous, love the private beach club and the parking was easy. It seems to me there should be a standard level that these condos should be kept at. This one failed to meet quite a few expectations.

Mahalo for your stay and review of Mauna Lani Point. It sounds like you enjoyed the location, views, and property amenities such as the private access to the Mauna Lani Beach Club but most of your disappointments were with the individual condo you stayed in. It is important to note that each residence at Mauna Lani Point is individually owned, which means the way it is furnished will differ. Since your stay, we have replaced all of the living room furnishings, and the carpeting is scheduled to be replaced with brand new tiling in August 2023. I can assure you that each residence we manage must complete an annual review to assure it meets our rental standards. Our condos also abide by global Hyatt Care cleanliness standards from the linens and towels we use to the soaps, lotions, and toiletries we provide guests. We hope you give the Mauna Lani Point another try on a future stay to the Big Island. Destination Residences Kona-Kohala Guest Services Team Part of Destination by Hyatt

We spent 5 nights in a two bedroom ocean view condo as a family. We specifically didn't want to stay at a big hotel as we like to have extra space and spend more time exploring the island than walking around a big hotel. We got a second floor condo with a beautiful view of the ocean past the golf course. The apartment was in absolutely pristine condition. We had been given plenty of information prior to our stay, including how to access the property when we arrived. Included in the rental is access to the Mauna Lani Beach Club which is a one minute drive from the condo. Also, having a designated parking spot just by the condo was very convenient. We were very happy with our decision and would definitely choose to stay there again.

Stayed from January 7 - 13, 2022, in H206. Lovely view of part of the golf course and a huge pond. Condo was very spacious and had everything we needed and wanted. When they say a "full kitchen" they mean it! Even extra food storage containers so you can store leftovers safely. Full washer and drier in the unit so we didn't need to bring as many clothes. This may seem silly, but all the light switches were labeled as to what they turned on. It made the space much more functional and easy to get around. We easily got a late check out on our day of departure. Check out is usually 11 am and we asked for 1pm. Also, if you like to bird watch, there were plenty of species on grounds. We booked this unit, air fare and car rental through Costco and it was a good deal.

As a Globalist member, I would highly
recommend this place. The location
is amazing!!! It can't get any better
than this,

The staff were professional and
friendly. They were quick to respond
to our requests and needs.

The unit was clean. It is very
appropriate for a family vacation.
It has everything you need. It's like
a home away from home. The unit is
very spacious. My most favorite part
was gazing at the sunrise and sunset
in the comfort of our (temporary,
home. It was such a fantastic
experience.

The only thing missing (for me) was a
full-length mirror. It would have been
nice to have one in the room.

Tip: Don't expect a housekeeping
service every day. It's upon request

Stayed 2 weeks in C203. Water heater broke and no hot water for 4 days. Management offered to move us to an inferior unit without option to return to C203 if heater was repaired. We declined. No other option offered to shower despite multiple requests. Management seemed unconcerned. 4 days before leaving unit, the washing machine broke and no attempt was made to repair it. Management definitely unconcerned. Oven had a dangerous hanging heating element. Chair upholstery was stained and falling apart.

Mahalo for your stay at Mauna Lani Point for two weeks. I am sorry to hear that the water heater broke during your stay. I can understand how that can disrupt your level of comfort while on vacation with us. As you may or may not know, February is the busiest month for travel to Hawaii, as everyone looks to escape cold winters back home. Due to our extremely high occupancy levels during your stay, our options were somewhat limited regarding other vacation residences we could move you to while we replaced the water heater. Despite tight occupancies, we were able to open up a comparable condo at Mauna Lani Point for your party but per your wishes you chose to stay in the original residence. I am happy we were able to schedule a plumber to quickly replace the water heater and return hot water to your vacation residence within four days, so you could enjoy the remainder of your vacation. Again, I apologize for the days you were without hot water. Since your visit, we have already replaced the washing machine, ordered a new oven and cooktop, and the owners are looking at purchasing new furniture. We hope you give Mauna Lani Point another try on a return trip and would love the opportunity to change your mind about our guest services. The only two things worth jockeying buildings would be an ocean view and proximity to the pool as some units are quite far and make walking more difficult. I don't recall the exact layout of the buildings by letter, but I called the office multiple times before arriving and they were always quite helpful. I would also try to see when and if the unit has been updated. We had one that was desparate in need of updating, did not have HD TV, and as my review stated, had quite an infestation of little bugs. I would not stay at this complex again without strong assurance on this topic.
