This is a very hard review to write. Tigmi is definitely a lovely hotel in a relaxed and remote setting which means both positive and negative things. My partner and I stayed in November and were practically the only people in the entire hotel so it made for a unique experience - so this may not be applicable to everyone...

Dear James, Thank you very much for your review all those points are very helpful to know and I will be rectifying them with some haste. I really do apologise for the Hamman cleanliness and the little things like getting towels by the pool. These are areas which the staff know that action should always be taken and I will...

The Sight... of the grotty rooms The Sound.... of the stray dogs barking at night The Scent... of the smelly plumbing If you like the above, seasoned with the only-possible-for-the-French insouciant yet overbearing attitude of the Manager, then Tigmi is the place for you. The grotty rooms were matched only by the dozen dead-chicken feathers in the boot of the...

Dear Sir, I am very sorry to hear and read that you have to write such a review after your stay at Tigmi, however I must respond to this as there are some areas of your review that other members on Tripadvisor may mis-interpret. We are a Boutique Berber Hotel, in a very traditional Berber village. The hotel employs over...

In the interests of pure undiluted selfishness I did not want to write too glowing report of this slice of heaven for fear of being unable to go again; being told it was full up would be devastating. But life is too short - others need to know. Imagine a rose. Beautiful and complex. Delicately scented, perfect in every way....

This was our first visit to Tigmi but not the last...We found all the staff so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is peaceful, quiet and an oasis of calm especially when compared to the frenetic pace of Marrakesh. Although only about half an hour from the city centre (by useful free hotel mini bus) the contrast...

We stayed for 10 days - Few guests in hotel - lucky us! Totally relaxing - fabulous place and setting, wonderful food. Swimming pools superb, good early running across the plain if you are into that sort of thing. Easy access to Marrakesh for the odd shot of mayhem but otherwise could not see any reason to go anywhere. Was...

Tigmi provided exactly the long weekend we were looking for a few weeks ago. Idyllic surroundings and an amazing view down the valley make for a very relaxing experience. One evening the hotel organised for some local musicians to come and entertain us which was brilliant - our own little Essaourian world music evening. The food during the day was...

I went to Tigmi for a long weekend (Fri -Monday). I flew from Gatwick at 8pm and I was at the hotel at 11pm. I couldn't believe how quick it was! Tigmi is situated 25 mins from Marrakech in a beautiful location. The food at the hotel was delicious - especially the chocolate pudding which I had two nights running!...

This is the Moroccan hotel I have been seeking for years. Utterly perfect. Perfect view, perfect staff, REALLY good food, perfect rooms, authentic in every way. It is perfectly situated on a small hill looking West - so gets the best sunsets I have ever seen. Spectacular view to the West over an ancient Kasbar/castle to the plains beyond (and...

Arrived in Tigmi on wednesday for a 4 night stay intended for relaxation, rest and escape from my London hectic life - and I totally found it at Tigmi! Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Tigmi is a place of quietude to listen to silence, slow down and rediscover that precarious sense of wellbeing. The house sits on the brow of a Berber hamlet (Tagadert) in the Haouz plain, positioned between Marrakech and the High Atlas mountains. It is just 24 kms (15 miles) from the Medieval city, yet a world apart in the peace you will discover. A true retreat from the hectic lifestyles we have all become used to. Tigmi offers guests the opportunity to unwind and relax but is close enough to the Red City that guests can pop in and shop the Souk, see the Majorelle Gardens during the day and the Djemaa el Fna square at sunset. ... more   less
