Connie and Gary were lovely hosts and made us feel at home. We were in the Coach House (a large room above the garage) that was fully stocked for more than the one night I had allotted on this road trip, unfortunately. Wish we could have stayed longer. Their property is picturesque and includes beach front (rocky--not good for swimming)...

I stayed three nights at The Ponderosa B&B, and I wish that I could have stayed longer. I'd never stayed at a B&B before, and Connie and Garry definitely gave me an excellent introduction to them (in fact, they've set the bar quite high). They were quite helpful with anything that I needed, and provided directions to any of my...

My husband, daughter and I stayed here on a Friday night of a very busy weekend in Sydney. We stayed in the hilker room which was large, very clean and had everything we needed. There was a queen bed and a cot with plenty of room. We shared a common area with another couple who were very friendly. Price was...

We stayed at the Ponderosa for 3 nights during a 16 day stay in Ontario & Nova Scotia travelling from the UK. This was the best place we stayed during our entire trip. We absolutely loved the Ponderosa, Garry & Connie are the most wonderful hosts and we loved their dog Pearl. The Ponderosa is a beautiful house. The bedrooms...

Hello, we stayed here for 4 nights in October during the Celtic Colours International festival. The location of this B&B is great for the festival as it is central to many of the various venues. We loved the log home and our room. The breakfasts were fantastic, and the travel information that Garry and Connie provided were much appreciated. We...

My wife and I along with our 2 friends from the states stayed 5 nights in the 2 rooms in the main house. Connie and Gary were as accommodating and hospitable as any hosts could be. Connie's breakfasts were delicious, and their friendliness made us feel right at home from the minute we arrived. Gary provides directions to wherever your...

This past August, our family group of seven toured Cape Breton and the Cabot Trail by motorcycle. When I contacted The Ponderosa last February to book all three rooms, Connie and Gary agreed to take us in spite of the fact that we would arrive on Connie's birthday! We're sure glad they did. Their home is absolutely beautiful, the rooms...

Garry & Connie are the best hosts. You were treated like friends, not just a paying guest. We stayed in the coach house, and it was great Garry gave great directions to point of interests, and on the print outs, he even listed where to eat, and what places to avoid. They had tried out the places they suggested. Connie...

If you're going to Cape Breton or Sydney don't pass up staying here. Connie and Garry were excellent hosts. We took advantage of their suggestions which made things go much smoother for us. The breakfasts were fantastic. The accommodation was superb. What a house!!! 2 nights wasn't long enough we would have stayed longer if we had more time.

We stayed at this Cape Breton Island B&B for two nights on the recommendation of friends. Our hosts Garry and Connie made sure we had proper directions to their home and they even checked-in with us by e-mail while we were en-route on the day we arrived. This is a beautiful home in a beautiful setting. The fruit trees were...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our property is just 10 minutes from either Sydney or North Sydney (NLFD Ferry terminal)on route 239. It is a quiet rural location, 12 acres, with the property running to the shore. Our home is a Nova Scotia handcrafted log house, with the logs coming from the Annapolis valley on mainland Nova Scotia. Some logs are over 40 feet long and 18" diameter. We have 2 rooms in the main house, each with a queen bed and en-suite 3 piece bathroom plus a loft that all the guests can enjoy. One of the rooms can easily accommodate a roll-a-way bed. Also, we have a suite with a private entrance, called "The Coach House". It has a queen bed, 3 piece en-suite bathroom plus a sitting room with a sofa bed and there is a kitchenette. The roll-a-way bed can also be added to easily accommodate a family of 4 with children of different genders. Connie's breakfasts are raved about and no one goes away hungry! We look forward to your staying with us! ... more   less
