A beautiful Hostel with amazing staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Special thanks to their staff named Boy. We loved authentic and real the experience was. I can not fault the care + service we received here.

I especially loved seeing the children + dog every day running around the grounds. They surround the hostel with happiness and love

Stayed here for 3 nights with 3 other girls that I am travelling with. We booked this hostel because the pictures looked good and the prices were right on our budget. This hostel did not disappoint us in the slightest. Got a unique style to the hostel as you’ll see in pictures but perfect for young travellers in Phuket. Perfect location in the old town with many cafes, restaurants and authentic Thai food places all around it. The guy who worked there (don’t know his name) was super helpful. We asked about getting a taxi to the Wat Chalong temples and Big Buddha and he offered to take us for a cheaper price than a taxi would’ve cost. He ended up taking us to Kata Beach and the Airport too which all in all saved us a lot of money. Such a friendly guy who is willing to take guests to the tourist spots they want to go to. Would definitely recommend staying at this hostel if you want somewhere reasonably priced and safe (there are lock boxes in the room for each bed so you can store your valuables)! Only downside is that the rooms are for 10 people but if you’re happy to share like we were this won’t be an issue.

Sorry I don’t have more pictures I wish I did!

I don’t know who manages this place but IT’S A REAL JOKE!!! The hostel is dead empty, been waiting 1.5 hr in the lobby, buzzed the bell, there is NO ONE onsite to check me in, although I have a reservation! A lady keeps talking through the microphone because she can see me on the camera, but is apparently too busy so send someone to actually check me in. This place is NOT secure, I’ve been walking across the whole premise for 1.5hr and no one is looking after the place, guests or people’s belongings! They obviously do not care for business or their guest! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Stayed with my boyfriend in Hugger Hostel for 2 nights in their dorm-style beds. Comfortable accommodation, great location near several markets and bus routes, and easily accessible. Had a great time meeting and hanging out with the hosts of the hostel, who cooked THE most delicious Thai dinner.

Hosts helped us with directions, recommendations, and getting us all around Phuket when we needed to travel. HIGHLY recommend these guys!!

The Hugger Hostel is AMAZING. The earthy architecture is absolutely beautiful. The staff is incredible and very accommodating. They will do anything to make sure you have the best experience. The dorms are awesome the beds are comfortable and the beds allow for a lot of privacy if you like. The food is awesome as well and there is a complimentary breakfast. The location is right in Phuket town and you can get a bus to the beach or walk around the cute town. AND they have a pug named Boobie :)

After a long walk through Phuket, very tired, and after visiting différent hostel, we arrived in Hugger Hostel in Phuket town.
Very good surprise ! People are very nice, design is modern and hype !
The room is clean, big, bedding is good, breakfast good, Wi-Fi good too.
For the price, it's excellent.
The expérience was great and welcome to come back.

I had not stayed in hostels for a couple of years so I had to adapt again.
The place has only basic facilities, we had a private room and there were no bed linen, only blankets. I found that not clean unfortunately.

Otherwise it is really centrally locates and pick up from airport as well as transfer to ferry pier was easy and smooth.

a great location, we had a double room,,balcony, aircon, hot water, towels, toiletries, private shower and toilet and clean, great chillin areas

the only downside was the food or lack of it, the photos are misleading

on the afternoon we arrived I went to make a hot drink in the kitchen area, there was only satchets of coffee, no tea or milk, no food was available, at breakfast the next morning nothing had changed, after speaking to the lad he went and bought some tea bags and then came out with a loaf so we could make toast, still no milk, it didnt change much during our stay, occassionly there was an Asian/rice thing in a small plastic box and on our last day banannas,
we ate in the café next door, it didnt detract from our stay just annoying as it stated breakfast and the pictures on the website looked good, they would be better off not advertising breakfast and have it as a freebie, all in all you get what you pay for and this hostel was cheap

This place is really clean and well designed, with comfy beds and a balcony and stylish architecture, but the staff and service was so pathetic that it took away everything positive about their interiors. There is often nobody at the reception, and they take eons to respond to emails. I saw several guests complaining that there was nobody to check them in, so be wary before you book this property. The guy who escorted me to my room on the first day was a nice person, but the other staff who I later dealt with were over-smart and could hardly communicate. One of them kept smirking without any reason, and said something in Thai to his colleague about me being from India.

Breakfast was non-existent. There was no milk (not even creamer packets) for the tea, and the chap told me to go get some from the family mart. I skipped the breakfast and went to the hotel next door. There was nothing vegetarian available with them, and when I told him I wanted something vegetarian, he went and brought me a packaged salad from the street. I asked them about laundry, which they said would be 40 THB, but asked me to get it done the next day. I skipped it as it was impossible to communicate much with them. I agree the prices at this place are low, but some basic service and decency is the least you can expect.

What is absolutely worse and disgusting is that they went on to mark me as "No Show" on booking.com, when I very much stayed there and have my bank card statement to prove that I was there and paid for it. Why would they mark me as no show at the hostel? Were they so worried about getting a crap ranking for their abysmal hospitality, so much so that they have now decided to also set themselves up as complete liars and frauds? They also have no on-site restaurant (that's another lie) as mentioned on booking.com. The restaurant next door belongs to a totally different management.

Location is pathetic too. Everything shuts down after 8 pm or 9 pm, so nothing is available to eat around the place if you arrive late as I did. Patong Beach might definitely be a better place to stay in. There are loads of better places to stay in at Phuket, and I would completely avoid this place at all costs.
