Stayed here with our 7 month old baby. The room was very spacious, very clean and very modern. We really enjoyed the pool, especially at night. The breakfast buffet was absolutely delicious with a decent selection of items. The hotel offers a one-way free shuttle twice a day to phuket town (11am and 4pm). Took a tuktuk for 250bhat back to hotel.
When booking this hotel, you need to know that this is in the middle of nowhere. We had done our research so we were well aware of this. There are not many restaurants around but you will find a few bbq buffets (supper) if you turn right from the hotel entrance and then right at the intersection. And there is also a lovely local restaurant (across from Katina) about 500m down the main road when you turn left out of the hotel's entrance. The owner speaks english and can make dishes not spicy if requested. There is a 7/11 about 1km from the hotel. Turn left and continue to the end of the road then turn right...it will be on the right side of the street.
Our stay was a little spoiled when we had checked out and requested a taxi to the airport. They were asking 700 baht per car with a 40 minute wait. This seemed reasonable but a little expensive. However, we came across other travelers that had reserved a vehicle to the airport for 14h00. Unfortunately, their vehicle was not there at the time of reservation so we ended up requesting for a mini bus which would reduce the cost for both parties. The lady at the desk tried to overcharge us (asking 700 each when a minibus is only 1000). So we argued a little and she let us pay 1000. However, it seemed like she purposely made us wait an extra long time (45 minutes...remember the others had a reservation for 14h00) which we sort of understood why when we got into the vehicle and the driver had a sign to pick up guests at the airport for 17h50.

This is not a conventional hotel, but some converted condos in to suites (without kitchens).
There is only one air conditioning unit in the suite, which is in the bedroom. The only cooling for the living area is by leaving the bedroom door open. The electrics only work with a genuine keycard inserted, so the room is boiling hot when you return and the air con struggles to reduce the temperature.
The bedroom door is a sliding glass panel, so there is a lot of light in the morning, making a late sleep difficult.
The wifi was very slow.
The breakfast was very bad, so we only ate it on the first day. Subsequent days we went to local restaurants instead.
There is not much in walking distance of the hotel, so your own transport is necessary.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
We used the laundry service, but it came back all in one tight bundle (instead of on hangers).
The bathroom door had not been installed correctly, so it could not be closed or locked. They sent someone to fix it but did not resolve the problem.
The TV only had one channel with a watchable picture quality. There were no English channels.
There is a roof top pool and a small gym, which are nice features. The suites are clean, modern and fresh.

its a large property built on styles of service apartments. the actual building is abt 150mtrs from the reception. the staff are fantastic and eager to help. always with a smile. eateries are nearby and on the whole its a quite area.

Seriously, this hotel isn't bad but so good and excellent. maybe, a bit far away with the town. if you call a car that won't be a problem.
The staff there were very nice and helpful, even they do not speak very well in english, But they will try all method to help you solve your problems and needs. That was a good exp for me in phuket town. Most all the staff at the hotel are quite good. they willing to be my tour guide without any charge and then bring me here and there...um..the place that i wanna go. They treat me as a friend and share there exp and have good communicate with us.
therefore, the overall hygiene are good in the hotel. The bed is very soft, and i like it very much. i wanna go back there at the next time.

If you find the best location in Phuket town, just book The Wide Suites, It was a good choice for me.
Compare with Patong, Phuket town has more local thins to do, I could feel Phuket with wonderful experience.

Nice clean big rooms, big breakfast, nice rooftop pool with sauna and steam room and fitness. Bed a little hard and pillows are small. Have parking and is good location to many different areas of the island. The minivan to airport is expensive compared to getting a taxi off the street.

The hotel is really nice, comfortable and with a little bit of luxury at a good price. The staff is really helpful but unfortunately, they didn't speak too much English, they are ready to help you always but is difficult to make yourself be understood. Otherwise, they offer a free shuttle that takes you to Phuket Town and Old Phuket Town, but the prices of their taxi company are not so cheap.

All is fine but their English is so basic that it is hard to get things done. Also, there were not really helpful in arranging TAXI rides. Otherwise, they are sweet but that does not help much if you cannot communicate well.

I visited in November December 2015 to this place. I was with family and had taken 2 rooms. For all people doing search study on this, let me clarify, The wide suites and The wide condotel are same. Just 2 names for same property.
Our stay experience was nice. Staff is friendly and helpful. breakfast was good enough. Rooms are specious. Swimming pool was nice.
Remember 1 thing, location wise this property is near old phuket town so if you want to visit a beach or any hangout place a vehicle is must. You can get a small car for 750-1000 thb or a bike for 250 per day. Taxi from hotel to any famous beach like patong or kata (one way) will cost in range of 500-600 thb (reception can provide hotel taxi for 750).

We stayed in the suites on the 3rd floor our room was amazing always serviced daily to perfection we had problems with the fridge and it was fixed straight away, all done with beautiful friendly smiles, the breakfast daily amazing and always an abundance of fresh variety of food, recepition and staff friendly, smiling, overly helpful with shuttle service free and available and always on time swimming pool to die for over hall 100% recommended price wise and services
