This is a lovely hotel, the food and location is fab however as a vegetarian I was very disappointed with the lack of food choice. For lunch there was soup or sandwiches but no hot vegetarian dish on offer, whereas if you were a meat or fish eater there was a huge selection. I thought that this was very disappointing.

Many words have been written about this hotel and I agree with all the compliments but when a place advertises a special offer for Sundays and Mondays because the kitchen is closed and then half price for a third night ,that is very very clear. Not to the staff at the Eltermere though. I eventually received confirmation by email but...

A beautiful boutique hotel, tastefully decorated, and very thoughtfully furnished. The staff are very efficient and friendly. Our room had a wonderful view, overlooking the lake. It was spacious, and had a large built in wardrobe, with plenty of draws too. The bed was extremely comfortable, one of the best I've slept in. The bathroom, had a sink and toilet,...

This is a good hotel, warm and attractive, with some very good cooking as a real bonus. Special credit to the 5 or 6 Romanian staff, who are lively, young and helpful, and who speak excellent English. I liked some of the artefacts in the hotel, and good botanical prints on the ground floor. It's possible to do several good...

We stayed in two rooms at the Eltermere Inn and both rooms were fantastic. In our room they had an open bath in the bedroom which seemed a bit strange but was actually incredible. The staff were really welcoming at all hours, particularly the Romanian waiter who was so friendly and funny throughout. They offered us some local walks which...

We have been here before to eat and so thought we would stay. The room was nicely decorated in a boutique hotel style way, the bed comfortable, and the shower powerful. The food as always was great - a huge selection and incredibly tasty. We ate in the restaurant this time and while it was very pleasant, personally I prefer...

We stayed as a party of 6 for my husbands 60th. The Hotel, bar, restaurant and staff were all excellent. We were pleased to be away from the main tourist site of Ambleside and could not have been looked after any better in this beautiful setting,

There were 10 of us visiting the area and having had such a poor experience at the Langdale Hotel and Spa, we left and stopped at the Eltermere Inn. OMG what a find! It is located in beautiful surroundings. The staff were amazing and very welcoming. The place is clean and just lovely!!! We didn't sample the food on this...

Excellent cream tea, beautifully presented in a lovely setting - plus, we took our soaking wet muddy dogs in with us (who were also wet and muddy!). It really was lovely. We'd like to go back for an evening meal.

We have dined at The Eltermere Inn on many occasions, and stayed overnight too so know what to expect from this wonderful gem in our favourite part of the Langdales. I have left a few previous reviews, all highly complimentary and our latest visit hasn't disappointed. We visited again for our 33rd Wedding Anniversary dinner, just the two of us...
