A wonderful stay. We were able to forgive the very small bedroom and tiny bathroom because the setting of the hotel was amazing with wonderful views.
Our evening meal was taken in the bar area. There was lots of choice and the meal was excellent....More
The Eltermere Inn is well located for exploring the Lake District. The room we were allocated was comfortable, had a lovely shower. The room overlooked a yard and the road, not much of a view. The food served was poor for instance "Eggs Florentine served...More
We only visited the Eltermere Inn on the way back from a walk in the little Langdale valley. It was quite nice inside and the food was very good. The bar was well stocked and the service was good with a pleasant girl serving. The...More
The setting, food, and staff are all top notch. It's a lovely Georgian house, which is quirky but very comfortable. The food is modern, but not overly-complicated, and the views and location are difficult to beat.
The main drawback was a lack of shower in...More
Stayed for a few nights for my husband's birthday the other week. The hotel is in a beautiful quiet location, with lovely gardens and wonderful views. We stayed in Tom Heights room which was very nice, maybe a little small for a superior room but...More

Lots and lots of guided walks, easy and not so easy. We have done many and enjoyed the countryside around which is beautiful any time of the year. It sounds as if I am connected to tourism in this area but I am just a local lady from near Kendal who enjoys walking and beautiful country side. You can also enjoy a swim in the Langdale Country club = a concession which goes with the hotel, so after a hard days walk you can relax in the pool or hot tub it's just a walk away.
