We picked this hotel for our honeymoon lovely rooms and very good hardworking waiting staff. Good food. However, it's a shame management staff couldn't learn a few things from them. A couple of issues whilst trying to relax on our trip . Owners kept asking us how we'd heard about the hotel once is fine but 4 times starts to...

Firstly, many thanks for choosing Eltermere for your Honeymoon. However, I find your negative review a little odd as it's almost five months since you stayed in June, you gave no indication of any grievance at the time and, around the dates you stayed with us, we had some delightful reviews on TripAdvisor and also in our guest book --...

My husband and I have just returned home after a wonderful three night stay at The Eltermere Inn. We specifically chose this location in order to escape from the stresses of our life at the moment, and we certainly feel that it has done the trick in spadefuls. The welcome we received from the owners and their staff was very...

We have just stayed here for one night as an escape from normal everyday life and we have returned home feeling perfectly relaxed and spoilt. We stayed in Gill Grains which is a superior room, normally costing £140 a night. It overlooks the terrace at the rear of the hotel, which was fine for us. If you want a room...

Having read various amusing reviews on this hotel I was somewhat intrigued at what our stay would be like.....was fab! Faulty Towers it is not! Beautiful building and great service not to mention the setting. Having never been to the Lakes I will be back. As for the food, we visited a different establishment on one evening which is featured...

This hotel is a real gem. A combination of chic relaxed style, perfectly and smoothly run in a sublime location. Could not have asked for more! For those with good taste who want a little something extra special.....it's the place to be. Food and service both spot on, friendly but not overbearing and some really knowledgeable advice about walks if...

We (three of us) had two nights at the Eltermere last weekend and wished we'd had time to stay longer, it was lovely, and feels like the much-loved only child of Elterwater. Were someone to convince me I could run a hotel then I would do it like this. It's a superbly comfortable home with centuries of character, and with...

Arrived Wednesday 28th August after 320 mile journey for a romantic getaway. On arrival we were given the keys to Gill Grains, I queried this as I was informed in an email from 'Amy' that we were staying in Willy Goodwaller as I asked if we could have a room with a bath. I was told by the owner Mark...

I generally will not respond to guests who leave their manners at home. Your reservation at Eltermere was made through Bookings.com and (as all reservations through third party websites) I cannot guarantee a specific room. You knew this on booking. If you had booked from Eltermere's own website you could have chosen a favorite room etc.etc. By the time I...

We have just returned from a few days stay and im afraid to say we won't b returning again. Our room was lovely and cosy, shower was fantastic. But we have never stayed in a hotel and never not had our bed made up or tea and coffee facility's topped up. Also our mucky glasses from the drinks we had...

You stayed at Eltermere for two nights (not a few) as per your reservation. On one of those days your room was not serviced. My housekeeping staff work until 4 pm daily to ensure our twelve lovely bedrooms are spotlessly clean for each guest on arrival & those returning from a day out. If you choose to stay in your...
