We booked 2 nights and stayed 3. Perfect place for touring the Saumur area. Wonderful Chateau excellently restored with fabulous old style bathrooms and bedrooms. Nothing was a problem to the host Elizabeth whose knowledge of the area and beyond was endless. We will be back.

First of all Elizabeth is amazing; friendly, knowledgeable, helpful. She is the perfect host to this quaint and charming B&B. We traveled with another couple and all of us fell in love with this beautifully maintained "lucky find". We were sorry we couldn't stay longer. Our rooms were huge, nice decor and our room had an enormous bathroom. I wish...

This old chateau has been restored inside with comfortable amenities and more modern bathroom fixtures. The rooms are large and home-like. Elizabeth was so very helpful with her touring suggestions and provided a tasty typical European breakfast. There is no restaurant in the town, so it is required to drive to the neighbouring communities for evening meals.

We spent 3 nights in this outstanding B&B which fully justifies the high praise reflected in previous reviews. Demeure de Beaulieu sits in a lovely enclosed historic compound and is beautifully maintained. Elisabeth proved to be the perfect host, being both very knowledgeable about castles, monasteries, vineyards, and restaurants and incredibly helpful, and serving a fine breakfast. Our room on...

A three night stay in this lovely B & B which is beautifully maintanined and run by Elisabeth, who is an excellent host. Very welcoming with lots of information and advice, but without being obtrusive. Lovely property, which you feel is steeped in history. Lots of choice at breakfast, room was very comfy, with a wonderful large bath (which did...

A real taste of French hospitality, wonderful grounds and most welcoming property and hosts. A little piece of rural France, where the hosts allow you great privacy as well as inviting you to join in with them and other guests if you so wish. Elisabeth & Jean-Claude would go out of their way to assist you in any way. Our...

We have just spent 3 nights at Demeure de Beaulieu. What a heavenly place. The rooms and bathrooms were exceptional as was the breakfast. Elizabeth, our host, could not do enough for us and supplied us with local specialities for breakfast. It is very convenient for exploring the Loire and very close to Saumur with a plentiful supply of restaurants....

We stayed for two nights in April and it was one of the highlights of our ten week tour of Europe. Our room, which had a lovely view over the front garden, stone wall and gates at the entry to the property, was very spacious, tastefully furnished, airy and light, as was the ensuite adjoining it. The bed was extremely...

We had the pleasure of staying for two nights at La Demeure de Beaulieu. What an outstanding place, an incredible first impression of an impressive building, a hugely warm welcome and a superb bedroom. Elisabeth and her husband are extremely knowledgable and welcoming, we were made to feel completely at ease for our stay. We had a wine tasting lesson...

“We stayed in one of the upstairs rooms in the main house and had the choice of two rooms situated there. Both were spacious, airy and light and furnished to a high standard.”
