Roof leaked and flooded lobby outside the restaurant.

Room smelt of damp / wet towels.

No tea or coffee in the room

Sink in the kitchen smelt awful

Fridge door hinge banged every time it was opened

Fridge was very noisy meaning it was difficult to sleep

Bed was split into two singles so was impossible to use the full bed as would move apart and the bedding was tucked in so tight as separate beds.

There was a suspicious stain on the grey bed topper.

Bathroom had a large piece of tile which has been glued back on the wall which was had a dirty stain around it

Hand towel rail is hanging off the wall

Power socket hanging off the wall by the bathroom

Bottom draw was difficult to open and scraped on the frame.

Wardrobe smelt musty!

The patio doors do not seal so can here and feel the wind.

Breakfast beans we hard.
Pastries were over cooked on (21st)

Only small plates available.

Coffee did not dispense decaff with milk it was just milk.

Coffee machine did not dispense clean water it was pale brown.

There is limited outside lighting and the paths and entrances from the rear are very uneven and potential trip hazard.

Waited in the queue to check out had been next in line for some time, however was ignored and instead the male receptionist served someone who had just arrived.

Number of the outdoor sun loungers were broken and were not adjustable

Button Panel in the lift was lose.

Great place , room for improvement. Great location , the studio was great and clean, breakfast was very good.
The experience on the Italian restaurant was terrible , our order was forgotten and they did not had the courage to say until confronted . Guests on other tables that arrived after us were served before and the staff couldn’t realize it until we called their attention. The food is average and although the staff is nice and kind they don’t seem to have the necessary training and experience .
An area to pay attention and to improve is the smell and cleanness of the public bathrooms close to lobby .

Not a 4 star hotel anymore.
Used to be, but the service is not at 4 star level and employees should get more training and image awareness.
One day the room was not cleaned even after talking to reception. With small kids making a mess this is a problem. Reception did nothing and another employee said “it’s not my responsibility”.
Pool bar food is a joke at 5 star prices - do not eat there.
Animation team is great but they should be more hours available.
There’s nothing for the kids or rest of family at early night and nothing on Sundays.
Breakfast is great.

We are on our last night at the Aqualuz Troia Lagoa Hotel and Apts. Apt 1401.

Please do not make the same mistake as us.

Our check in took 50 mins and once in our suite we found dirty tables, bathroom flood damage, finger prints on mirrors, windows and the toilet flush. We went back to reception to complain or resolve but the queue at reception was so long that we went and bought cleaning items at that supermarket! The most stressful start to a holiday ever!

The hotel does not follow Covid-19 safety measures. We did not feel safe on arrival to our apartment.

Our apartment was cleaned today and our young sons blanket which he’s has since birth (which was on his bed) has been taken by mistake and is currently lost! He is upset.

We are now leaving this place one day early to somewhere nicer where they care more about their guests.

Location is excellent because there is a very large and beautiful beach walking distance, shops are meters away and the marina with different water activities is also just there. Comporta is 10’ by car and the Roman Troia ruins are at 3 kms. Excellent for families with small kids because of logistics and animation. Has very good pool, including kids and indoor.very good

I have just stayed in this apartment/suite with my daughter whilst she was playing golf nearby. On a positive note, first impressions are great, room was large with a fantastic view. Shuttle between golf course and apartment really good, we seemed to always get the same driver and he was fab.

Not so good :

I found the reception staff unwelcoming and miserable, I felt it was as if they were doing me a favour and really didn't want to be there.
If you like a hard mattress then great, but for me it was rock solid and not comfortable.
Kitchen doesn't get cleaned daily, unlike the rest of the apartment.
WiFi in room didn't work.
Toilet seat chipped therefore unhygienic.
Breakfast average/poor.
Early tee time no breakfast (even continental offered)
TV terrible reception, remote batteries dead and even though I asked never replaced.

This was our third visit to beautiful Tróia.This hotel is rated 4 star & after extensive worldwide travel I would rate it a 3 star. The hotel needs a lot of work. Very disappointed. For example requesting a new toilet seat on day one of our stay!!!! Yuck !!! And no action it gives some idea how below standard it was. The only redeeming feature was the kind staff in the breakfast restaurant. Will not return.

a clean and tidy room, comfortable, two toilets, view to the sea where we could see the dolphins. We had a living room and the best things was the enormous balcony. It was a midium sized room. We didn't have a bath tub and we asked for a bunk bed and a double bed but instead of the double bed they gave us 2 indvidual beds that we had to put together. Free wifi and air conditioning

It was very easy to book and communication was excellent. Once we arrived the reception staff was friendly, welcoming and efficient.
The studio was clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was excellent and all staff super friendly.
Check out was effortless.
I would go back again and recommend this hotel without any reservations.

We visited the hotel during a golftrip. So we were not in the room most of the time. Nevertheless I do not think you should spend money on the pool view (we had a room without). If you are a family of 4 you will enjoy the room we had. If you travel with children, they have a nicely separated room so they can sleep while the adults stay in the living room.If you are a party of 4 adults : be aware of the fact that the second droom is a lot smaller (bunk !). Enjoy your holiday. Hugo
