This is a wonderful small resort with 20 villas in the extensive grounds around an old a 150 year old mansion. If it got everything right it could be a world-class resort. Unfortunately the excellent infrastructure needs investment to maintain it at an appropriate level and that investment in the otherwise wonderful villas is not being made at present. We...

Ulagalla is simply beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay. Staff are attentive and helpful and the surroundings so peaceful - perfect for relaxing after a day our exploring. Food is also fantastic with a huge amount of choice, particularly at dinner - the curry selection is a must try!! The only one thing that proved to...

We stayed at Ulagalla for three nights and could have stayed for a few more! Our bungalow, #7 was totally private, as are all the bungalows. You are engulfed in nature while having total luxury accomodations. The bungalows are large, tastefully decorated and the plunge pools are an added treat. It is unfortunate that it was too cool to use...

From the moment we arrived we felt like part of a big happy family. There was a feeling of lay back and relax, we will take care of you. The property is set in in a very rural style setting. The beautiful villas are located within easy reach of the main reception, bar and restaurant area. Buggies are always available...

This was such a memorable vacation because the setting is exquisite, 58 acres of beautiful lush land, each chalet perfectly located with a private plunge pool. The chalet was perfect with every amenity possible. Thoroughly enjoyed watching the monkeys from my bathroom window. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were incredible, the best hospitality I have ever...

The rooms - or chalets or bungalows or whatever you want to call them - are breathtaking. Huge suites nestled in the jungle, with enormous living rooms, cozy bedroom, beautiful bathrooms and lovely decks with plunge pools. Everything was exquisite. A/C worked great, plenty of plugs, light in the bathroom, etc. Only quibble is that as the plunge pools are...

Uga Ulagalla, is a great place to unwind. If I did it again I'd fly from Colombo to Anuradhapura, and drive from there to Uga Ulagalla, if you arrive in the morning you could visit the ruins of the old city then head to the hotel. Beyond that, in my opinion the only visit's really not to be missed are...

We spent two nights here in December and cherished every minute of it. 20 private villas set over a huge land - totally private and romantic. The service was impeccable and consistent. We really enjoyed the bike rides around the water tanks and watching peacocks around the villa. Each villa has its own plunge/jacuzzi pool and wasn't that appealing. Food...
