We had previously enjoyed a drink in this cosy pub, so decided to return for a meal. We felt it was overpriced. The pie was acceptable but the veg was over cooked and soggy, we were also disappointed to find that not all the pies are on the lunchtime menu. On the positive side the staff are pleasant and it...

Went with my friend who was over from Germany , we both ate .. I had the blue cheese and steak salad with warm bread and butter... it was excellent , the salad was fresh and crisp, just enough blue cheese and steak , and the warm crusty bread with butter was really nice .. the service was great as...

We had heard that The George was famous for it's pies, so were really looking forward to visiting whilst we were down in Weymouth with family and friends. Parking isn't great, very limited but there is a huge P&D car park across the road. When we arrived with our large party, they showed us to the lovely outside area where...

we love the georgie porgy pies (I think that's what they say), huge variety and really good portions, we like steak and ale best but don't tell everyone they may run out; really fresh veg and choice of potatoes. Home cooked so wait whilst they cook it enjoy their reasonably priced wine or a pint. Very busy in school summer...

Went here twice for an evening meal during a recent stay in West Bay. First night had the Pie and a burger, absolutely brilliant all home-made with tons of taste filling. The chips weren't the best but the sautéed potatoes are excellent. Second night had fresh fish (sea bass) and cod 'n' chips. Great sea bass, poor cod, batter was...

We had a good lunch with surprisingly little waiting as the pub looked very busy in both bar and restaurant. Plenty of meat served from the carvery (small and standard sizes) and staff were surprisingly courteous. Worth a return visit.

Very rude staff upon arrival adamant we couldn't be served until 12. (It was 11:56am). Pub wasn't even busy. Seated 10 minutes later. Given sticky plastic menu. Not much choice on that but specials board good. 50 minutes after ordering finally got food. O.K. Not in a hurry to go back.

We stayed at The George for 4 nights ... When I booked the room I asked if we could have a twin room overlooking the harbour & they were able to accommodate that request even though the room was actually a double. The room was clean & tidy with a lovely shower in the bathroom. The hotel is ideally situated...

We had three rooms all facing the harbour, so the view was lovely. The rooms were well appointed and spotlessly clean, the bathrooms had been recently renovated to a very high standard. The room with the four poster bed had a large window seat, great for watching all the activity outside. Despite being in the centre of West Bay it...

Unfortunately we had a bad experience dining here, the staff were inexperienced and kept us waiting too long for our meal. Many were complaining and some left. When the food arrived it was most unacceptable. Not a good evening meal!
