My fiancee and I vacationed at Hatky Ruslany during New Years and Christmas 2013. What impressed us most what the attention to detail both in our room and in the restaurant. The room, beautifully decorated, with many antiques was also comfortable with luxurious sheets, warm duvets, and very soft towels. Truly a pleasure to cuddle and sleep in, in the morning!!! The breakfast, included in the price of the room were all homemade, extra large portions, and again with extra touches like Canadian Maple Syrup, a bonus in Ukraine.Warm porridge with lovely spices, European omelettes, or pancakes, bacon and maple syrup, homemade jam, muffins and freshmade coffee. A wonderful way to start the morning. Behind the chalets are ski hills, so if you do not want to go to Bukovel, although only 17 kilometres away, then you can walk or rather ski right up to the hill from your chalet. For foodies, I recommend the steak with wild mushroom sauce. It is incredible and probably one of the best I have tasted!!! If you are in the Carpathians, in Ivano-Frankivsk, or going to Bukovel, then I recommend you stay at Hatky Ruslany and eat at Restaurant Donechky. Respectfully, Masha.

Best hotel experience in Ukraine. Set in the picturesque Carpathian Mountains, the rustic (and at the same time very comfortable) log cabins are decorated with antique treasures, including local authentic Hutsul costumes and artifacts, as well as photos and paintings. The restaurant has a warm and cozy atmosphere, and is decorated in the Ukrainian style. The food - Ukrainian fusion cuisine, using fresh local ingredients - is spectacular. The service all around is excellent. Ruslana and Pani Maria, who know the ins and outs of the region, are able to suggest an endless number of sporting and cultural activities - from horse-drawn carriage rides, hikes, and rafting, to local festivals, bazaars and church and castle tours. There is never a dull moment here but, for those who want it, it's equally easy to relax on the front porch or by the pool, and breathe the fresh Carpathian air while reading a good book (followed by a massage). A memorable stay during any season of the year. This hotel is the gem in Ukraine's most beautiful region.

A beautiful oasis in a mountain setting. I live in Whistler and this place has that same paradise feel without any of the corporate development in your face. The ski slopes are a 15min drive away. All the drinking water comes from a mountain spring just a few minutes walk away. A hike in any direction will time warp you into old world village beauty. Views of the vista so rich in color it looks fake. The restaurant's menu is nothing lower than mouth heaven with artistic detail in every nook n cranny, even in the restrooms. The cabins are actually better described as villas with each one having a different cultural theme. In the evening there is the option of having a traditional Ukrainian BBQ right outside your villa. After a night of feast n fun the huge sauna, which can fit all staying in your villa, will prepare you for another glorious day of rest, exploration, and feasting. A true oasis.

It seems that negative reviews get deleted, probably by the owners. This is very unfortunate, since they should really learn from comments. The architecture of the place is nice, some effort was put into its construction. But the whole place needs more management from its owners - the food in the restaurant is overpriced and rapidly slipping in quality. When sitting in the restaurant you hear the kitchen staff yelling at each other; food comes either too hot or too cold. Etc etc etc. Do yourselves a favor - before you chase international reviews make certain that your quality is up to snuff. And it's way overpriced.

Wonderful break from the summer heat in Vorokhta in the Ukrainian Carpathian Mountains which included horseback riding, hiking, spa treatments and delicious meals in Donechky Restaurant. Well worth a visit.

We had an amazing five days here. Despite our lack of ability to speak Ukrainian or Russian & our hosts lack of English, they were very accommodating & helpful. Google translate came in handy a few times! Food was excellent & it's a nice spot to stay. Only downside was that on our last night we had people staying above us who were a little noisy but otherwise we had a fantastic stay here.

Found this place on karpaty.info & very happy I did. We stayed for 5 nights in the little wooden cabin and did some spectacular walking. Vorotkha is a good base because you can access Mount Hoverla easily and also drive to Yaremche in 25 minutes.
The staff spoke no English (not that we expected it!) but are so sweet we got lots of smiles and they were all lovely.
The food is great too - a hearty breakfast of omelette or pancakes and cereals or porridge is a great way to start the day for hiking and the dinners were equally good. The ubiquitous varenky and sausages, stews and soups. A very impressive wine selection but sadly no Ukrainian beer :-(
Definitely recommend for 100% rural experience with lovely scenery & just so green !!

There are a few options like log cabins now in the carpathians but what makes this place special is decoration. It's like a museum. Very nice original decoration of traditional things. In the rooms and restaurant. We found the owner has collected it all personally. Nice also that there is a good restaurant on site. Quiet out the back. Worth stopping just to see the furniture.

We stayed there for a few nights and had a great time. The cabins were very nicely decorated and well kept, staff were very friendly and the food was amazing (especially the mushroom soup). The only negative is that none of the staff spoke English. Over all highly recommended!!
