Mabula Lodge is a Safari medium-size resort located 2.5 hours (by car or by bus) from Johannesburg. My room was large, but was full of all types of insects, my sheets looked used and some of the towels arrived dirty. There is very little lighting at night, so a flash light is a must. Just a pity that the rooms are not smoking free, the stench of stale cigarette smoke in the pillows, linen, bed, curtains and everywhere is unbearable! Maybe I got a bad room but surely the non used linen should be changed? I'm not a prude but even the mattress smells! Room 104

We took an American friend just for one night and they graciously let us stay in the self catering cottages. We had two game drives. Saw an Aardwolf first time ever, Lion and lots of zebra and other game. Had a lovely swim, made a nice braai end generally had a great time. Great option to see big 5 if...

my rating can tell the story. it is an amazing getaway. the staff is friendly, the property is clean and well keep. we were treated as royalties. I would recommend Mabula Game lodge to all my friends. thank you for a wonderful time.

Excellent for tree enthusiasts!! Mote species per area than most places! The ground hornbill project is awesome Also saw secretary birds! All species of night owls were heard. Saw yellow hornbills building a nest in a Marula tree.

Second visit to Mabula. We had amazing game drives and saw everything including lions only few feet away. The rangers are all very friendly and willing to share there great knowledge about the game and plants etc. We stayed in Mojadi area which is great with a view to the plains.

Only two hours north of Johannesburg, this 12000ha reserve is home to an abundance of animal and birdlife, including the "Big 5." All 47 rooms are air-conditioned, contain LCD flat-screen television, en-suite bathroom, telephone, hair dryer, safe and tea/coffee making facilities. Dining venues, outdoor cocktail and whiskey bar, swimming pools, tennis court, children's programme, safaris in open 4x4 vehicles, horseback safaris, archery, paintball, star gazing, eco adventure safaris, guided bush walks, crocodile feeding demonstrations, snake demonstrations and the Ground Hornbill Project and reptile centre. Mabula can assist with all conference requirements, including venues, informal breakaway rooms, private dining facilities and team building activities. Children 0-5 stay complimentary when sharing with parent; 6-11 years pay 50% of the adult sharing rate. 12 years and older pay full adult rate and occupy their own rooms.
