For the budget minded traveler this is the most wonderful place. Delightful en suite rooms with a shared kitchen. Innkeepers Christie and Buz are warm and welcoming, and helpful to those exploring Mexico in anticipation of relocating. The rooftop mirador has a 360 degree vista of Chapala. Well located, in walking distance of everything you might want or need, in...

This is a small, charming place to stay that is centrally located--the Mercado and Malacon are mere minutes away. The rooms are lovely, the beds comfortable, and the kitchens well outfitted for those who don't want to eat out every day. There are several good restaurants nearby. Christie and Buzz are fantastic people and eager to help. They definitely made...

I spent a great two weeks here. The rooms are colorful and charming, the rooftop terrace is a dream, and Christie and Buzz are as lovely and helpful as you'd want. The street does get a bit noisy, but that's the price to be paid for being very central to all that's happening in Chapala! Both he Mercado and the...

The hotel has updated historical Mexican charm while having modern amenities, such has wifi and wonderful showers (especially nice after you have been out walking the markets all day). Buzz, Christie and all of the locals were welcoming during our visit, making us feel at home and safe exploring. Being centrally located we...

Thank you for your kind words. Our location is unique, being in Central Chapala just about anything you might want is close by. You found some of our favorites. The mercado and the juice ladies, selling fresh squeezed juice 25. peso's for a quart of juice. Hard to beat. We do hope you will visit again soon, it was a...

This is truly a great little hotel. The rooms were colourful, comfy, and clean, and the shared kitchen was better equipped than any I have had in Mexico. My friend and I had separate rooms and that was very affordable. We loved the roof-top deck, relaxed in the sun, and watched incredible sunsets. The location is perfect. A block from...

I travel frequently but every time I return to Chapala, whether it be for three weeks or two months, El Pequeno is 'my home' . The location is perfect, downtown, close to the lake and most amenities. The rustic charm of this recently renovated stately old home has been preserved and enhanced. Everything functions as it should including the internet....

Such a great place and such great hosts! They made my stay such a great experience. They were really kind and helpful. The rooms and terrace are an outstanding choice downtown Chapala. Just a couple of blocks to/from the main tourist attractions and from/to transportation to the entire riviera and Guadalajara, greatest location ever!

You won't be disappointed staying here. The hotel is truly centrally located so you can walk everywhere. It's across the street from the police department, so you can't get much safer than that. The rooms are spacious and beds very comfortable. The bathrooms are big and the water is always hot. My friend and I each had our own rooms...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
El Pequeno Suites is a grand 75 year old Mexican home that has been completely modernized into a cute little guesthouse with four guest rooms, located in the most convenient part of Chapala. With only four guest rooms, a guest's kitchen, common areas, and the English speaking owners' apartment on the third floor it feels comfortable like home. As one guest put it in one of many amazing reviews of our property - "just like home only cleaner". We offer private rooms with adjoining bathrooms in a smoke free environment to the adult traveler. On the first floor there are two hotel rooms with one double bed each (max.occ.2) best suited for stays of less then two weeks. On the second floor next to the kitchen there are two suites, these rooms are large enough to have a sleeping area with one double bed (max.occ.2), and a sitting area, and a private refrigerator, they also include use of the shared kitchen, and rooftop patio(mirador). Together, the shared kitchen for our long term guest's exclusive use and the neighbouring comfortable rooms provides everything needed for a multi-month stay. Presenting an affordable solution to those who are considering retirement in the area and wish to stay long enough to become familiar with lakeside before investing here. ... more   less
