As many have described, The Cliff Hotel is indeed a special place.
After a recent 5-day visit, I would add that very few places offer as much tranquility, relaxation and wellness The setting is simply breath-taking. Sunrises, sunsets and star-gazing are incredible. And the hotel itself is everything that you would hope for, with a staff to match.

A shout-out to just a few of of the these wonderful people:
O-Might was one of several World-Class bartenders who do their profession proud.
In addition to providing some of the best cocktails that we’ve EVER had, he was gracious, humorous, generous and welcoming to our family. He provided us with wonderful cultural insights and memories for which we’re very thankful.

In the restaurant, Nicole was the big sister who looks out for you.
Her wit, warmth and charm accompanied and enriched our meals.

And the KiYara Spa staff and treatments were simply amazing.
Not enough good things can be said about them. You must meet the massage therapists and allow them to work their magic.

In short, The Cliff Hotel is well beyond 5-Stars!
Your mind, body and soul would benefit from a visit to this gem in Jamaica.

We just returned from a fantastic stay in Negril
We stayed four nights at the Cliff Hotel, to experience the uniqueness of this part of Jamaica, followed by six nights on the beach end
From the moment we arrived in the lobby, we were treated fantastic
Our room was on the first floor, very large suite with a living area, dining table, large bathroom with walk in shower, and a huge bedroom with a four poster bed
The towels were some of the softest I have ever felt!
Great shower, good water pressure. Coffee maker in the room with Blue Mountain Coffee. Large mini fridge which holds a lot (stop off at Mega Mart for supplies!)
Both areas opened up to private furnished patios overlooking the gardens.
Our housekeeper, Tiffany was wonderful.
Room service (we did only once) was great, with food delivered in melamine ‘bento boxes”
There is a small swim up bar, with a larger wrap around pool on the lower deck.
The pool is beautiful
I had the most fantastic 90 minute massage by Tanesia. She was absolutely wonderful.
With only 33 rooms on the property, you feel like you are in your own private oasis.
Lots of beautiful plantings, flowering plants, trees surround the pool.
There is a wonderful seaside bar that we spent many an hour at, sipping cool cocktails mixed up by LT and Adrian.
These bartenders are just superb. Wonderful service, attentiveness and hospitality.
I witnessed Adrian dealing with some unsavory customers that decided they wanted to make their evening one of complaints and ridiculous requests.
Adrian handled this situation expertly.
Not only did he not get ruffled, he was extremely patient and listened to each and every inquiry with professionalism and respect (not that they deserved it!)
I wish I had videotaped it so that future hospitality employees could see how to handle difficult guests.
We had most of our meals at Zest and really enjoyed the food and service. There is a large patio where you can have your morning or evening meal, which overlooks the beautiful ocean along with spectacular sunsets.
Sophia, Ramona were so lovely—friendly, warm and made us feel like family.
Casey, the Lifeguard was so great. He set up our chairs by the pool each day with adorable towel arrangements, as well as assisting us when we jumped off the cliff into the ocean, making sure everyone was safe and still had loads of fun!
We will definitely be back!

Not even sure where to start .... we absolutely loved our 5 day stay at The Cliff. The setting is pure paradise, only to be rivaled by the nicest staff we have ever encountered. When it was time to go home we must have hugged 10 or 15 people who worked there goodbye!

And did I mention the delectable and creative cuisine by Chef Jonhoi? So delicious and so accommodating! We had some special requirements and they were always more than happy to meet our needs.

The whole trip was pure relaxation in one of the most spectacular settings. Starting each day with complimentary beach yoga by the fabulous Sativa, pure pleasure. And if you are a little nervous about jumping into the sea (like me) the lifeguards Casey and Romaine couldn’t be more helpful or make you feel more secure.

The servers at the restaurant and bars quickly became friends and we looked forward to seeing them each meal— especially Rochelle, Sophia, LT, O’Neill, Nicole and more! And the delicious drinks served by Adrian, Omite, Andre and more made each day so much fun.

Front of house staff was always helpful, warm and welcoming, including Stephanie, Taji, Shandeau, and Amoy. And whenever something needed a little tweaking in the housekeeping department, Richie couldn’t have been nicer.

This place is a hidden gem— I almost don’t want the whole world to find out about it! But it’s unfair not to share how amazing our experience was at The Cliff Hotel. It is a true treasure on the Caribbean Sea that you can’t help but love.

If you are in need of a getaway that feeds you with peace, relaxation and solitude then the cliffs hotel is for you.

Tucked away on the west end of negril this hotel showcases the most spectacular ocean views and warmth Jamaican has to offer.

On arrival we were greeted by the most friendliest and polite staff who ensure the easiest check in process, this level of precision accompanied by excellent service extended right throughout the hotel from the bartenders, servers, pool attendants, groundsmen and housekeeping staff.

The food at Zest was another delight,a must try is the Jamaican breakfast. Everything was impeccable and surpassed our expectations.

Without a doubt this experience has created the glass ceiling for all other vacations. It's easy to say that this hotel requires a revisit over and over again.

This was a beautiful resort with large rooms, friendly staff and amazing views. My wife and I stayed here 3 nights before going to an all inclusive resort to finish our vacation. Although all inclusive packages are available we choose to start our vacation without that package so we can enjoy the local restaurants. If you want to relax and spend time without any commotion then this place is for you, very private beautiful manicured grounds. The Cliffs does not have a beach (hence the name cliffs) but laying out by the cliffs listening to the ocean was extremely relaxing. The bartenders made excellent drinks (try the pina colada made with fresh pineapple) and the food at the restaurant was very good as well.

5/5 stars to the max! Searching for hotels in vacation destinations can be challenging as there are so many options, but I hope by having stumbled upon this review you will stop your searching and book the Cliff hotel immediately!

The hotel is located in the Westend cliffs of Jamaica (no beach), so the location is quiet and perfect for relaxing, listening to the sea, and sipping on a delicious and fresh cocktail! However, when you are ready for a little more liveliness, you are only a short taxi ride away from the hustle and bustle of Negril and the beach side bars/restaurants. The hotel provides you with a driver (just let them know when you want to leave) which made heading into town easy!

Key praises from our stay: the service was incredible with each staff member carrying a different fun, friendly, or calming energy. Coupled with that, the politeness and attentiveness to our needs was top notch and a differentiator between this hotel and larger resorts. Every person we met throughout our stay was full of joy and energy and we left feeling so rejuvenated and exuberant!

The food at the Zest restaurant was amazing from am to pm and my favorites were the ackee toast for breakfast + the fresh sourdough (the ackee replaces the avocado toast in the offseason for avocado), the fish tacos with a side of black bean hummus and plantains for lunch, and the lobster for dinner (the jerk pasta is a close second). As for drinks, I can't list a favorite... the blended drinks were refreshing and perfect for the morning and the Jamaican Delight, Big Bamboo, or Rum Punch were staples for the afternoon. Rooms are big, clean and straightened up every day, A/C and fan system worked excellently, and fresh water is replenished in the room daily.

We can't wait to return in the future and we hope that this review encourages you to book the Cliff!

My wife and stayed at the Cliff Hotel for a week and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. From the clean, well appointed rooms, to the staff and phenomenal grounds, the Cliff Hotel is 5-stars all the way.
From the moment we stepped out of the cab into the open air lobby, we were in awe. With only 32 or so rooms, you feel like it is your private Jamaican retreat.

The cliff area is nice as most ocean side resorts you have to deal with sand and sometimes beach vendors you don't necessarily want to deal with. The advantage to the cliff is there is no sand, only natural coral where the hotel has installed pads with lounges and umbrellas to lay on. When you're ready for a dip in the ocean, just walk to either the tide pool, or jump from the cliff into the ocean. They've placed several ladders to make climbing out easy and safe. With a pump that constantly adds fresh ocean water, the tide pool is nice for those who don't want to jump in the ocean.

If a pool is more your thing, they have a fantastic one. Again, with so few rooms, you feel like the pool is your own private place to swim and lounge around.

There are two bars; one that is a swim up pool bar and the other is down on the cliff. Both are great and the bartenders do a great job of mixing drinks and helping with friendly conversation and local recommendations.

This resort is ideal for couples looking for a quiet and romantic place to get away to. I wouldn't recommend bringing kids as they will probably be bored.

My wife and I are already planning our return trip to the resort next year.

We, family of four stayed from mid Dec to NY's Eve. The booking team was very helpful to accommodate our requests, prior to our arrival.

When we arrived, we were literally the only guests at the hotel for the first four days. The beautiful hotel is perfect place to relax and unwind our bodies + mind from Covid fatigue. From the moment we arrived at the hotel, we felt so at home. The hardworking staff were very welcoming and attentive. Their hospitality was superb and unpretentious. The garden and lawn are immaculately looked after and the caretakers clean the water of the swimming pool every day. During our stay, there were a couple of special cocktail nights every week by the cliff bar which were fantastic. Certainly, everything was carefully arranged with precautions for health and safety reasons, but we felt very safe and it did not deter us at all. We loved sitting under the lovely trees during every meal overlooking pristine sea, in awe the beautiful sea and sunset. My husband and I enjoyed the detox massage at the lovely spa and the adjacent yoga barn overlooking the sea was perfectly secluded to have a peaceful time. There is also a good size gym which you need to book in advance but it is mostly available when we requested.

All in all, I cannot praise enough this place. We just love this beautiful little paradise on the cliff. We will be back!!!

Thoroughly enjoyed our 5 days at the Cliff. Spent a few days in Montego Bay prior to this at an all-inclusive, which was nice, but nothing compared to our stay in Negril. Our room was clean, comfortable and as pictured. The views from the cliffs were amazing. We had a relaxing time lounging in the pool. The staff was very accommodating and service was phenomenal! It was nice having restaurants close by, and we had a driver take us to a few spots on different nights. The front desk helped to arrange tours for us, which was great. They also arranged for us to go to Sandy Haven, their sister property on 7-mile beach, which is a must do! The water was so clear and pretty. We were able to use chairs, towels, and enjoy drinks from the bar. Like any hotel in the area, service fees can drive up your bill and are expected. I did not expect to find that these charges were also applied to tips, and was a little put off by that. Be sure to tip in cash and avoid all of the extra fees. All in all, had a great time and can’t wait to return!

Amazing experience. Clean, beautiful, peaceful, friendly staff. Will definitely go there again if in Jamaica. There are many choices of hotels in that area especially by the 7 mile beach but this hotel was much cleaner and well kept than the other hotels and completely worth the money.

Don't visit The Cliff Hotel, our horror story in Jamaica took place right on that property we did not have to leave for our bad experience. On the first day of our vacation we left our room after 5:00pm for a planned get together on the property and by the time we came back later on that evening our brand new Apple Watch was removed from the counter in the bathroom. That theft was terrible - but it got worse for the next 72 hours of our vacation as day 2 was spent with hotel personnel checking CCTV, sending at least 4 different personnel to ask questions, personnel from housekeeping searched everything in our room twice (part of the investigation they stated). Day 3 was spent waiting and eventually having a meeting with several law enforcement personnel together with hotel manager which took hours (part of the investigation they stated). Day 4 was spent at the police station for another long wait then eventually more questions from us to provide information for their report (part of the investigation they stated is that we must physically go to the police station to do the report). The law enforcement officers let us know we were wasting our time because, they made these statements although they had CCTV footage of 2 housekeepers entering the room while were out of our room that first evening. They also stated once we go back to the states they would not be reaching out to us as the police does not have an email address to communicate and they are not going to be calling us long distance. They had no concern for the item for which were able to provide a receipt that we paid several hundred dollars. All the days of vacation lost with this process, all the waiting, all the inconvenience, and no reimbursement for the item and not even a drink or lunch was offered during this harrowing experience that was clearly as a result of a theft by their housekeepers. Don’t go to The Cliff Hotel!
