We enjoyed our 2 nights in this cosy Gurkha lodge with ensuite facilities and good hot showers. Pretty luxurious this high up. Breakfast in the garden with wonderful views of Fishtail, annapurna south etc. Great plunger coffee. If they run out of real coffee, opt for the tea or else it is nescafe :( Cute resident dog sunbathing near the...

Another Ker & Downey luxury lodge which we visited for nights 2 and 3 of our Exodus trek.. A fairly strenuous walk from Sanctuary Lodge to Gurung Lodge (800+ metre climb up) with what seekms like a lengthy climb up the village steps when we eventually arrived at the village of Ghandrung. If I had known that lodge was situated...

Second night of our trekking trip organised by Ker & Downey Nepal. Ghandruk is an amazing place with stunning views of the Annapurnas, particularly Machhapuchhre. The Ker & Downey lodges are all clean and comfortable with ensuites, plenty of hot water, warm jackets provided. Happy hour every evening next to an open fire, plentiful delicious food. It was a 4-5...

We did an amazing trek from Naya Pol to ghandruk, ghandruk to ghorepani, ghorepani to Naya pol. It was very quitte in ghandruk so the lodge was completely abandonned. The rooms are great, with an own shower and bathroom. Outside of the season you can get a lot of discount aswell.

Wonderful welcoming lodge after a day trekking. Basic but all you need. Coffee on the veranda after arriving and early morning while watching the sun rise over the mountains. Great food served around a log fire. Warm jackets and hot water bottle provided.

We stayed here for one night on our 5-day/4-night Modi Khola valley trek. It was our favourite lodge and we wish our itinerary had permitted us to stay for one more night! It was a long day of trekking from Gurung Lodge, first downhill in the rain and then relentlessly uphill through the villages - fascinating and rewarding, and lovely...

Himalaya was our favourite lodge on our 6 day trek in the Annapurna region and just like all of the Ker & Downey lodges we stayed in, it was in a beautiful location with the most stunning views of all. Following a relentless slog uphill from Sanctuary Lodge, we eventually arrived at the lodge at the top of Ghandruk village...

Himalaya Lodge, Ghandruk Manager: Lalit This was the second and third overnight of our 10 days trekking in the Annapurna region staying mainly in the Ker and Downey (K&D) lodges. This lodge is at the top of the village (a common location for K&D lodges, presumably for the views), so on arrival at the gates of Ghandruk, steel yourself for...

This is quite a difficult and long trek up to reach up here from Gurung Lodge. But totally rewarding. Parshuram, our guide and Purna, our porter made our climb safe and secure, and we shared many jokes with them. Stop, breathe, praise God, enjoy the views as you climb. Talk to other trekkers too. Be friendly. Spectacular views the next...

When trekking in these beautiful mountains one probably has 3 choices of accommodation: camping in a tent with few basic ablutions; staying in a teahouse and perhaps sleeping in a dormitory with shared and very basic ablution facilities and questionable hygiene; staying in lodge (like those managed by Ker & Downey) with a comfortable en suite bedroom, shower with hot...
