I had a great experience staying at Casitas Kinsol as it was a beautiful, very unique and local guest house. It was clean and inspiring. The staff (people and animals) were very friendly and helpful. Great connections to taxis and local food. I will go back when in the area.

Booked the smallest room for a couple of nights and it is nice and cozy but not that small at all. The owner is always available and the location is also good. Good value for money and perfect for a relaxing time If you're renting a car it's very easy to reach, only 20 minutes from the airport. I would... More

The guest house is on a back street of the highway with many places to eat authentic Mexican food close by at reasonable prices. We had the smallest room on the ground floor for the past 2 years. It is basic and tastefully decorated, the bed is very comfortable and the room is adequate. It is not far from the... More

Well worth your visit to the not-beach-front, "wrong side of town"! Every room is a unique work of art and spotlessly clean, the European hosts are a delight, their dogs are friendly, and their cat entertains. All the guests we've met in the communal courtyard have been interesting. Very good food in local outdoor cafes. Less than 1/2 the price... More

These little houses are beautiful and ideal for a couple or lonely travelers. The location is OK, it's close to the highway, stores, etc, though you will need at least a bicycle to get to the beach. The staff is very nice and friendly, their dogs are super-cool, and the rates are very reasonable.

This is the first review I have ever written about anything. That being said, my wife and I just got home from Casitas Kinsol. Last year we went to an all inclusive. This year we wanted to spend more time with the local people and their culture. Having read many of the reviews we felt like giving our two cents... More

The casitas itself is charming and very, very clean. Sparkling clean and well kept. But the place itself is hard to find and not very attractive at all. It says Puerto Morelos - it should say Up by the Highway. Ok - a taxi to the beach is only 30 pesos, but you really are in the middle of nowhere... More

On first glance it looks like a great place. It is well decorated and inviting. Unfortunately the room we had was damp, musty and there was a perfume smell trying to cover up the damp smell. I have travelled a great deal in the tropics and I have never come across such a damp musty room. It is also not... More

We stayed at this guesthouse for three nights. It was fantastic! We found our room to be really big and it was cleaned very nicely everyday!! We absolutely loved the dogs and the cat. Cozy private casitas with community guest area in a jungle-like setting (close to actual jungle). The owners, Christina and Alain, are very friendly, and their 2 dogs and the cat are wonderful. There is even some wildlife, some geckos, and a resident turtle. The bed is a tad small for anyone over 6 foot tall (I am), but that's a... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Casitas Kinsol is a Guest House with 8 rooms for rent in Puerto Morelos, on the Mayan Riviera, 25 minutes South of the airport international of Cancun and 4 blocks from the main bus stop in town. It resides in the heart of the “Colonia” of Puerto Morelos conveniently located between Cancun and Playa del Carmen and only 2 miles to the beach. Surrounded by many eateries, grocery stands and stores, it offers 8 romantic rooms and bungalows: 4 with kitchenettes and 4 without. All the rooms have basic amenities at low prices for double occupancy. The rooms come with private baths, hot showers, air fans and a unique décor designed by the owners. Most of them come with WI-FI. Room #1:The Master Room is (as well as the room 8) an authentic Mayan hut where Mayan people used to leave until the early 1990's. It has been converted to a large room with its private bathroom. The thatched roof was replaced by a stucco one with two skylights. Two small windows were added to bring some more light to the room. It has cement floor and tiles in the large bathroom. It is a very large standalone, ground floor, hut style bungalow, complete with a full-size (double) bed and one twin-size (single) bed, so it will accommodate 3 persons. Private bathroom and kitchenette. It offers a refrigerator and two burner stove-top but no ovens or microwave. No microwave or standard ovens, no dishwasher either. This room has a front door allowing you to exit onto the boulevard without having to go through the grounds but also a backdoor giving you access to the gardens and relaxation areas as well. ... more   less
