We just returned from a great trip to Desire Pearl. Hurricane Beryl decided to show up a couple days after we arrived. It hit late at night and went through to the morning. There will be plenty of reviews that talk about the atmosphere at Desire and what you can expect to experience with the pool, the shows, the restaurants etc. And it’s all wonderful. What was most impressive here is how the management and staff handled the whole hurricane situation. First and foremost they were concerned about guest safety. Pool chairs and beds were removed and secured away. Guests that had first floor rooms were moved due to possible flooding. The evening of the storm, guests were asked to be in their rooms at 11 p.m., and the resort provided plates of food in every room along with additional bottles of water. The storm subsided the following morning and that’s when management and staff went to work cleaning all of the debris from the trees, beach sand etc. They worked tirelessly that day to clean up and get things back to normal. The restaurants were back open and the pool was by the following day. The Hotel General Manager, Laura Gutierrez Sierra seemed to be everywhere supervising and assisting with the cleanup. There is obviously a family atmosphere at Desire Pearl as all of the staff had a “can do” attitude throughout. Although it wasn’t our best trip for weather, the storm was only a glitch. Desire did everything possible to make sure we enjoyed our stay. We also want to recognize, Playmakers Candice, Bella, and John, Eric our butler, Gilberto, Wilbert, Carmen in the restaurants, Elodia and Rebecca in the Spa.

This review is long overdue. We always have an amazing time when we visit Pearl. The entire staff is phenomenal, and they all deserve recognition for going above and beyond. I will highlight those who stood out during this stay, making it just that much more special for us. Jesus at the Pearl restaurant has been one of our favorites for the past several years. He is attentive, friendly, always remembers our names and takes extra time even when he is busy. He made us a wonderful tableside, after-dinner cocktail and was also our server for the wine pairing dinner. His service is top notch.
We splurge for the wine pairing dinner each time we visit Pearl, as the food are wine are delectable. We were disappointed to learn the menu was different this time, so we asked if it could be altered. The Food and Beverage Manager, Said, met with us and accommodated our requests. The food was incredible, and Martinez served some really terrific wines. What a great evening!
Ceci and Esmeralda welcomed us by name into the restaurants each day. Carmen at Aphrodite served us for breakfast and lunch, always with a smile. Victor greeted us every morning with a hug and settled us into our favorite pool bed for the day. We had a few days of mostly rain that kept most of us away from the outside. The playmakers had activities in and around the lobby area. The energy and enthusiasm of Candice, Sam, John, and Bella didn't waiver. They worked to keep everyone upbeat despite the rain.
A huge shout out to all of the beach crew cleaning away the seaweed, maintenance, housekeeping, groundskeepers, etc. They are quick to say hello with a smile, no matter what they are doing. They do a fabulous job making Pearl a beautiful place for us to vacation.
Again, the entire staff at Pearl is amazing, and I wish I could list them all. Thank you for everything!! You can't wait to hear "Welcome Home!" on 12/29 and look forward to ringing in 2025 with all of you!!

Once again an AMAZING experience for my husband and I ! As soon as you arrive you are greeted with "Welcome home" and instantly feel relaxed. Checking in is effortless. We stayed in a junior suite, that fit our needs perfectly. Nice and spacious room with a beautiful view. Every morning we were welcomed with big smiles from Miguel, Victor and all pool staff, and attention to where we preferred to sit quiet side, music side, sun or shade. There are no shortage of activities from easy stretching yoga, beach/pool vollyball, dance classes, or water basketball, because of the amazing playmaker staff, Candace, Bella, Alejandra, Felix and Sam. They have the best energy you could ask for. Pool time is a delight, always meeting new people or running into a few from the last visit. Gabi is one of my favorite servers, never leaving me with an empty bottle of water or drink glass. The bar staff is unbelivalbe Pedro is always so attentive and has a drink in hand for me as I approach the bar :) The food is very good with a nice variety from Chef Julio, a warm welcome from Esmerelda at the restaurant reception to fantastic service from Carmen, Navaro and Servando never disappoints. Fantastic experience, highly recommended, we will be retuning soon.

This was our 5th time returning to our home away from home. It truly feels like home from the moment you arrive. We are only able to travel once a year right now and not only does the staff remember our names, but what we drink! Our butlers Amir and Erick are the best, greeting us with big hugs and smiles and right away setting up dinner reservations and spa appointments. They checked in with us several times a day to make sure we had everything we needed, even having our plunge pool cleaned and the temperature adjusted for our anniversary celebration. The pool staff was top-notch as always. Manuel, Horatio, Victor , Gabi & Yolanda smile all day long and seem to know our needs even before we do! I'm now addicted to cucumber mojitoes, thanks to Yolanda. My husband was very grateful to all the bartenders and a special shout out to Jesus at Suki for going the extra mile to make sure his bottles of Bailey's were available since that is all he drinks and Servando every morning greeting us at breakfast with his contagious smile, it made every day a great day. There is no way to not have a great time here with the playmakers. Get to know them. They all work so hard day and night to make your experience special. Candice has become family, our 2nd daughter, who has the voice of an angel and beautiful spirit. John was so caring one night when my husband fell ill and stayed with him until he felt better, even checking on him the next day. Alejandra is a little firecracker with energy to spare who is always ready to dance! If you are looking for a place to reconnect, let your hair in a no judgment location,this is the place. We are not in the lifestyle, only nudists but have made life-long friends in both groups. We can't wait to return home!

This was our 3rd visit to Pearl, and we've come to love it more each time. Realizing that we will continue to come back every chance we get, we signed up for the premiere membership this time.
We arrived around 9:30am, well before our room would be ready. Checkin was smooth as usual, taking hardly any time to hand our bags to the bellman, be handed our first mimosas, get our bracelets, and head down to the buffet for breakfast. They provided a free locker at the spa for our daybag until we could check in to our room. When the room was ready, they came and found us in the pool to let us know we could come get our bracelets programmed and be shown to our room.
We chose a standard oceanview room. We find the basic room has more than enough space and prefer the more authentic mexican decore.
The food at the restaurants was generally very good as usual... with the service always exceeding outstanding. Every staff member, from the registration desk to the bartenders, or grounds keepers are incredibly friendly and will do whatever they can to improve your stay. That said, some of the names that stood out for us were: - Aphrodite restaurant. Andrea was the hostess most days and always made us feel welcome. Carmen was our favorite server at Aphrodite and was always on top of anything we asked for. - We had both Santiago and Orlando on different nights at the Pearl restaurant. Both were outstanding. - Our favorite restaurant is Suki, but unfortunately, we must have been distracted by the sushi and forgot to make note of the great servers' names there.
Horatio and Miguel at the Pool Concierge were great and always worked to find us a set of chairs where we could hide in the shade when we needed to. Joanna in housekeeping kept our room clean throughout our stay, and the minibar fridge was always topped up.
Jiaro at the Jacuzzi bar is one of the busiest guys around, but still found a way to remember my regular drink. I never saw anyone have to wait long to get their order in when he was around.
The entire playmakers staff seem to have unlimited energy. Every one of them keep the days and nightly entertainment fun. That said, Will and Sam always took the time to get everyone involved in the activities and were always available to talk. Of course, the energy and confidence that Bella brings every minute of the day puts her at the front of the pack. My wife loves her so much. Our entire Pearl experience just wouldn't be the same without her.
The nightly shows were new and fun as always, with some truly outstanding aerial and acrobatic performances. In 3 trips to Pearl, we have never seen a show repeated.
I could go on forever about why we love it at Pearl, but I'll stop here for now. Can't wait to get back.

My wife and I just recently came back from our stay at Desire Pearl, and I can say that we have a fantastic time. This was out fourth trip to the resort and here is a summary of our trip.
We flew from South Florida to Cancun got our bags and proceeded to clear customs. The airport in Cancun has good capacity and we were cleared in less than 10 minutes.
The prearranged transportation (Lomas Travel) had our information, checked us in and had a car for us in less than 5 minutes. Car was air conditioned, and the driver had towels and water for us to enjoy. The drive to Pearl took about 20 minutes and once we pulled into the report the staff quickly asked for our names and took our luggage and walked us into the lobby to check in.
Check in was very quick and they gave us our bands and we were off to our room. We stayed in one of the mansion jacuzzi rooms and met Irving and Michele who would be taking care of anything that we needed. Combined they took care of minor things related to the room and made our reservations each night for dinner. They were incredible and made sure that we have everything that we needed. Every time we would see either one of them they would immediately ask how our stay was going and if we needed anything.
Let me tell you about the resort at Desire Pearl. The resort is small enough that you can walk from one end to the other in a couple of minutes but big enough that you can find a quiet section of the pool to be alone. The entire staff ask you how you are doing when you pass by them. The grounds are maintained daily by the staff and the resort is beautiful and well maintained.
During the day we would get a chair in the morning (thanks to Victor and staff) lounge around the pool and wait for the daily entertainment to start. It was hot during out stay, so we spent allot of time in the pool and at the swim up bar. The bartenders (Luis, etc) were so helpful in making sure that everyone had a drink or two to drink. When the playmakers arrive (they are the ones that do the games and entertainment) it’s time to turn up the heat. They did an amazing job of putting on a fun game and make sure that everyone is enjoying themselves.
For breakfast and lunch, we ate at Aphrodite and honestly, they have a wide selection for everyone to have something they like. For dinner we ate at Suki and Pearl and enjoyed our meals very much. One night we got together with three other couples and had a nice dinner outside of Pearl. We ordered two tomahawk steak for all of us with plenty of sides.
After dinner we would go and change into our theme costumes, head to the disco where we were entertained by the nightly show and then would proceed to dance the night away.
In closing we had the best time during our stay. The resort is beautiful, very well maintained, the staff goes out of their way to make sure that you have a great time, and we were able to make some new friends that helped us enjoy out time at Pearl.
We will be back.

We have been going to Desire Pearl for the last twelve years. We love this place. The service is always the best. Waiters, Wilber, Emilio, Carmen, Fany and Cristian are awesome. Bartenders Juan. Eddy, Eddy and Wilbert always the best. We love the playmakers. A huge shout out to Sam, John, Bella, Shirley, Candice, Kia and Felix! They are all full of energy and keep the activities going! Victor and Miguel always recognize us and make our day at the pool so relaxing by having a bed or chairs waiting for us whenever we arrive at the pool in the morning. Our butler, Erick, is always checking on us to see if there is anything that we need during our stay. My wife and I stayed at the Desire Pearl for 5 nights on this, our third visit to the hotel, and each of our experiences were absolutely unforgettable. We will continue to go back because of the service is so outstanding and the attention to detail is so high.
The level of service is unlike any we've ever experienced. Victor and Horacio, the towel concierges asked us which pool chairs we'd prefer. Then they would prepare the same ones every morning.
Esmerelda, the hostess at Aprhrodite was so sweet and remembered us each morning. Edilberto remembered our drink orders and brought them each morning for breakfast as soon as we sat down. He brought us a small "good bye and safe travels" fruit plate on our last morning before we departed.
Gabi was wonderful running drinks and food orders by the pool. Somehow, each and every time we were just about ready for another drink, she would appear next to our chairs or find us in the pool to get us our next drink.
Jairo remembered us from our visit two years ago. This is the real magic of Pearl - the staff that remember you. Jairo keeps a memory of what everyone is drinking. He is so fast, but he's funny and kind to speak with.
Gaspar, the amazing gentleman who mans the late-night taco stand for those post hot tub 3am snacks was phenomenal. Gaspar went above and beyond making tacos for my wife and I, and the guests we brought with us each night, by bringing drink orders, silverware, extra napkins. He repeatedly looked for ways to help.
And finally we come to the playmakers: Candace and John. We had several long wonderful conversation with them both. At the end it felt like we were leaving friends behind, not entertainers. Their energy, charisma and charm make every day so much more fun than just a day by the pool in Mexico.
The staff, and exceptional service are the heart of Pearl and the reason we go back. The playmakers like Candace and John are the soul of the resort and they make it truly a special place so much beyond the regular resorts.
This trip was truly a pleasure. We can not wait to return.

We were fortunate enough to stay at Desire Pearl from Feb 15-22 for the first time in many months. As it had been so long between trips we were anxious to see all the changes that had occurred.
We were very pleased with the entire trip.
The resort continues to be maintained beautifully with manicured grounds that create a very private and couples friendly environment.
We were able to stay in an ocean front room that had a pool. We were very pleased with the modern feel of the room and spent many hours relaxing on the patio and in the pool which is heated. We understand these beautiful rooms have recently been completed and you could tell with the attention to detail displayed throughout.
The heart of the resort is around the main pool where most guests congregate on pool chairs and loungers. There are a lot of loungers which accommodate guests and create a friendly environment. Victor and Miguel around the pool assist you with the many location options for seating.
The entertainment staff at the resort, referred to playmakers, is led by Candice and Shirley and we really enjoyed this team who makes sure there are plenty of activities going throughout the day ranging sports to fitness to yoga and games in between.
The various restaurants provide a lot of variety when it comes to meals. We enjoyed eating at Pearl and Suki very much. Compliments to chefs Raul and Michelle who were always around to provide a personal touch along with bartenders Eddy and Cobb.
At night time we also enjoyed the various shows and entertainment. While we were there we very much enjoyed a neon theme party that took place outside and had terrific performances. For several days after the guests were talking about the night which lasted into the early hours of the morning with dancing and similar. It really was a lot of fun and the team who planned it should definitely do more of it in the future. Perhaps that team will work to collaborate going forward. We sure hope so.
Whenever you travel there are potential issues which can arise that could color your impression as accidents, mistakes, and similar are prone to occur. We never had any major issues arise because of the care shown to us and all guests by Sophia, the floor manager. She’s a “Fireball” of energy who is always assisting guests have a wonderful time. During our trip she seemed to be able to pop up at a moments notice to ensure all was smooth and perfect in terms of logistics and day to day experiences. We have no idea how she finds time to sleep with how active she is. Her team of butlers were also wonderful throughout the stay with Michelle, Amir, and Irving all assisting us on a daily basis.
Overall it was a wonderful trip and we can’t wait to return at some point in the future. No doubt making a reservation will be a Premier privilege that will give us a reason to smile and look forward to another trip. Whenever that may occur.
