This Inn is located in a beautiful spot on highway 1. We went in January so there were no crowds which was nice. I've never been there in the summer so can't talk about crowds at that time of year. The only downside to the inn is that rooms are noisy (thin walls), you can hear cars driving on hwy... More

Much can be said about Big Sur. It's majestic yet rugged coast line...wait, yea, that's about it. Sure it's nice to travel through Big Sur, if you have the time, but not worth staying overnight and especially not here. My family and I arrived here around 5pm on our way up the famed 1 Highway, and decided to spend the... More

Drove down to the Big Sur area after a morning of wine tasting and Highway 1 sightseeing. Our group had the ribs, brisket sider and I had the brisket sandwich (photo below). Food was great and served within 20 minutes. Lacey was our waitress and she was quick on the ball on providing our adult drinks. The river in the... More

You have to be in the right mood for this place. It is a basic motel with a bar and cafe across the street. The only place the internet would work was in the bar. This can all fit together just fine. I had some emails to read so I sat in the bar and had a tall cold one... More

Yes the rooms are basic, yes there is no internet/phone/t.v, yes our room was right next to highway 1 and yes it is a bit pricey but Big Sur is well worth it. It is such a beautiful, majestic place that I spent no time in my room except to sleep and had no interest in being connected to the... More

We stayed in room #9, recently remodeled, cozy and wonderful, the bed is great. We slept well but the wall heater was noisy as it turned on and off, and the room is close to traffic but that is mostly absent overnight. We paid a premuim for the room and were very dissapointed to get a towel that was ripped... More

While we are not very happy about your review, it has helped us take close look at the details of our inn and restaurant. We have spoken with our cleaning staff about triple checking linens and we have met with restaurant staff to make sure that they are on their toes regarding customer service. We are sorry for your less... More

The Cafe and the shops are the things to see here. The food is freshly prepared and the setting with the creek just outside the diner is great. We sit in the creek in a wooden chair and have our burgers with a bottle of wine. Interesting thing is there are always some "funky smells" around you at this place.... More

Well looked after, but you did not get much for the price. No Internet or TV, shower was a 32" stall, bedding and beds were comfortable. Paper thin walls, I could hear conversations in the room next door.

We had a night in this place. Room had two double beds, very comfortable. Had a good sleep. Wall are wooden, so when next door uses a restroom, it disturbs your rest. No TV and No internet in you room, helps to be with nature. That is the idea of visiting Big Sur.

My wife and I stopped for lunch here on our drive from Monterey to pismo beach. We only had lunch so can not comment on accommodation. Service was fast and enthusiastic. We both had milkshakes we were fantastic, I can recommend the vanilla one. We shared the beef brisket sandwich and a basket of fries. The beef was cooked perfectly... More
