The glamping tents are set underneath the redwood forests of Big Sur which was was breathtaking! The beds were very comfortable and provided more than enough heat for the winter. The bath house was clean and the water was vert hot! I suggest calling before committing to the high

Best Meal of my life, no joke. The Potato Leak soup was literally the best thing I've ever eaten, i'm not sure how that was possible?!! I love real camping, but the glamping was perfect for giving me a little outdoors and peace without putting all of the effort into doing it the

Glamping at Ventana was an amazing experience. We paid a little extra for a tent away from others with more privacy, and it was perfect. The grounds are beautiful and the staff is very welcoming. And best of all, heated blankets which made camping in 42 degree weather (with rain)

this place was awesome. the resort is breath taking, the glamping site is incredible. every detail has been thought about. the staff was great. we were very happy with our stay. my only recommendation would be to give the spa a skip, overpriced and not worth it in my opinion.

Had a beautiful stay at Ventana. Stayed at the glamp site in December and it was perfect.. check in process was a bit confusing but other than that, they went above and beyond making our stay comfortable.

We have booked 4 nights for this summer but after careful review of all feedback I am having doubts. 16/20 reviewers who rate this place as excellent have fewer than 3 total reviews which to me is suspicious. I want to know from anyone who recently stayed there and has more than a handful of reviews is this place worth the thousand dollars per night price tag?
We have been to this property MANY times over the years. The new owners have now appealed to the hipster crowd. If that is you, enjoy your experience. We are disappointed with the changes to this property. It is beautiful, the rooms are very nice. I find it exceptionally strange that such a remote location doesn’t have food on the premises, you actually have to walk 1/2 mile to the restaurant, which is nice but not what you necessarily want to do first thing in the morning. No bowl of apples at the front desk...the feeling is not of generosity.....but of penny pinching, Even the wine and cheese is carefully portioned out, for one hour only, at these prices, there is something amiss. Massage very disappointing!

Does this place cater to solo travelers? Far too often it seems poor service is expected if you are by yourself..
Solo works just fine here.

At this price point, I can't justify spending my hard earned money here. The restaurant is a signature feature of the hotei. I use to love the hike from my room to the restaurantt in the morning. There was nothing like sitting out on the patio, sipping coffee and having breakfast, while taking in the glorious view. Extremely disappointed that this opportunity no longer exist!!
When we stayed the restaurant was open and breakfast( and the walk) and dinner, were one of the features we liked a lot. Not sure what has happened . If the restaurant breakfast no longer available this is a major negative for the hotel.

Does anyone know how far Monteray Bay/Whale watching is from this hotel? We'd like to come sometime in January. Thanks much!
Hello, It takes about 45 minutes to get to Monterey from Big Sur.

Are small dogs allowed?
I think they are. If you call they would be very happy to answer that q question. The staff is delightful in every way. They want to do whatever they are able to make your stay comfortable.
