The whole experience was fantastic. Our yurt was situated facing the mountain (not ocean, but still great) and was a few short steps away from the restrooms, showers, sushi tent, and restaurant. The sushi in particular was pricey but amazing and they encouraged conversation with the chef as he prepared everything in front of us. The views were unreal, sunset...

We happened onto this little gem by chance. We had taken so long to travel southbound on the PCH that we didn't want to miss any of the spectacular views and most hotels and inns were fully booked! By chance Treebones had one room left and offered it to us! And although a bit out of our price range we...

This place is really special. Stayed in Yurt 1 and forgot that I didn't have cell service. The area is so beautiful and even with Hwy 1 closed, you still have 8 miles of coast to explore along the part of the road that's still open. 2 days is not enough time to enjoy this area. We went to Sand...

My husband and I went to Treebones resort for a night and we enjoyed it thoroughly! Our yurt was comfortable and warmed by a heater when the fog rolled in and made it chilly outside. We liked the fireplace in the main lodge, as a nice place to read and socialize with other guests. Took a nice walk all around...

The best view, very quiet, relaxing and privet. Restaurant has good food (hamburgers are really good), yurts are big and confortable. Service is friendly. Lots of hiking option, close beaches. The only downside was Hwy1 been close. A must to go place !!!!

Very tranquil peaceful place. The Yurt was beautiful inside, comfortable and well equipped with two double beds, bedding and towels, even a large sink with hot/cold running water. Great view of the Pacific Ocean. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We had # 13 which was close to the outside Bathroom/Showers/Restaurant. Bathrooms/Showers were always clean and well equipped, private with amazing...

Thank you Fonzy W for taking the time to detail out your experience for inquiring guests. We are happy to know that you enjoyed your Yurt, and experienced the restrooms to be clean, our staff friendly, and of course... enjoyed the beautiful views. The Yurt itself was beautiful, we stayed at yurt #16 and it was pretty pleasant. It is beautiful outside the yurt and very well maintained inside as well but might not stay at this same yurt again since the tree covers the glass opening in the roof (we were fine with this!) but there are other yurts which had multiple...

Dear Raj, Thank you for your recent visit and for giving your 'yurt experience' an A+ rating. Trees do get in the way of some of the views sometimes...we have tried to get them to cooperate with their limbs and branches, but alas, they tent to have a mind of their own...but glad it did not impeded your enjoyment of...

We spent our 1 year anniversary here recently and enjoyed every minute of our stay. It is such a beautiful and relaxing oasis! We especially loved the organic garden making our salads extra fresh, the ocean views and especially the massage! I highly recommend you book a massage.

My trip to Treebones was nothing short of a disaster. The resort and location - absolutely beautiful. However, we were booked to stay in the Human Nest - which was only a dream until this day. Before arriving at Treebones, if you are staying in the Human Nest, you are informed to bring a tent to sleep in case of...

We had a wonderful stay at Treebones, which is unique in its accommodations. The management and personnel were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The setting is beautiful and peaceful. It was delightful to wake up to hear seals barking in the ocean below us.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Unusual and unique eco-lodge experience with immense expansive ocean views on Big Sur's remote and rugged South Coast. Guests enjoy cozy comforts in fully furnished tent-like yurts or choose a campsite and bring all their own tents/gear to camp. Resort 'feel' in rustic setting. Two popular restaurant venues with cozy, communal atmosphere boast great service, organic, locally sustained cuisine with same great views. Massage services, hiking information, and modern book & sundries store on premises. Sustainability statement: We are dedicated to providing an honest eco-experience. We are off grid and over 50% sustained by solar power. We recycle and utilize our onsite garden and chickens to complete a composting cycle. We are also human-sustained: Meaning..we serve tourists with our hearts and our hands and there are humans behind the service here..not robots! ... more   less
