One of the best vacations ever. We got the Gås cabin which has a front view of the beach and some tents in some days. We loved our stay and if ever we come back to Lofoten, we will definitely stay here again. Jim, the host, was very helpful and their restaurant served very good lamb shank and burgers. Since we lived in a cabin, we cooked our own breakfast but took advantage to eat in their restaurant. The only fault I could think of was that the edge of the bed was so soft that I could easily fall but it did not happen. Otherwise everything was good and cozy. Be prepared to have warm clothes and pair of shorts as well. Lofoten could have a very warm day and the next day, you would experience the icy cold wind from the north. Maybe it would be nice if they have a coffemaker in the future. For now they only have an electric kettle. But their cabin have everything you need: stove, ref, tv and even a hair dryer. We were there in June so expect the sun does not set. Therefore bring a sleep eye mask if you are very sensitive with light. Lovely Ramberg Guesthouse!…
During our Lofoten vacation this June we stayed 3 nights in one of the cabins at Ramberg Gjestegard. The Ramberg Beach is one of the very best white sand beaches in Lofoten, and you can sea the midnight sun from your terrace. Absolutely fabulous. The rooms are spacious with a small kitchen with all necessary equipments to prepare food. Very clean. Be prepared to share the garden in front of you cabin with campers (RV's, Caravans, Tents). They also have a very good restaurant, and we would highly recommend their lamb shank. We would like to return in the future.
Trekking across Lofoten from Moskenes I stayed here a few nights in my trekking tent and used it as a base for some treks nearby. Weather, by the way, was pretty horrid. The owners, Tordis and her husband, were very friendly and they and they're very friendly staff, were helpful with regards trekking and local directions. In summary . . Positives - Lovely welcome at first arrival with my enormous backpack, friendly and helpful. An excellent restaurant. Kitchen facilities and more. A good location, especially as a rest-stop. A car would help. Negatives - Very small, cramped tent areas and communal facilities, even in late August, early September, were nearly always full with people taking up space even though they's finished they're meal-making. A sign asking people to not do this was mostly ignored by campers. Only two showers. . . Sounds negative overall, but it's not. At the 'right time of year', NOT peak season, this is a good campsite, run by nice, friendly people. I will return, Thankyou for a pleasant stay. :)…
When we came there was a very nice, helpful and kind man in the reception. Our stay was very nice until the day we left. The woman in the reception was very rude and unkind. I paid for a few items we bought and she accused that my 8year old daughter tried to "smash an icecream" which she didn't.My daughter put an icecream away when I said we are not buing it. We wrote to a guestbook and when my daughter tried to draw, the woman came and ripped the book away from my daughter. She accused that this little girl is "ruining our book" and said that we have to remove the page from the book. All my kids were in a shock not believing their eyes and not understanding why this woman behave like this. So not a nice place with kids if this older woman is in the reception.
Rented a three bed cabin for a couple of days. Lots of equipment in the kitchen (except a microwave) and a very fresh and nice design on the inside of the cabin. The cabins are on a row, so if you're lucky you might score the one closest to the beach which to me have the best views even if all the cabins patios have a sea view. Surroundings is a bit less inspiring with some kind of boring public building, but the view towards the sea is free. Midnight sun went down straight in the water horizont, so more "real" midnight sun will be hard to find. Restaurant in the main building serves surprisingly good food, but if you don't want to eat there or arrive late, there is a supermarket just 200m down the main street. Wifi coverage at the outer cabin was to say the least spotty. Didn't work for most of the time. Loved this place!…
