Great adventure! This was our groups first time visiting Horseshoe Island and from the time we arrived until the time we left we were treated fabulously. The cabins were excellent and comfortable. With no electricity, this facitlity enhances the outdoor experience. Ian , Linda, and Kylie treated us like family. Their knowledge of the lake and suggestions were spot on. The lake is huge , so knowing where to start was a huge benefit. We all had a great time, caught lots of fish and have many stories to tell for years. We would love to return to this wonderful lodge.

We stayed for a week, rented a boat also, we had a fabulous week. The cottage had everything we needed, and it was very clean. The staff helped out and treated us so well. The fishing was great, Ian had all the bait that was needed and provided lots of tips on where to go!

Just returned from another amazing week at Horseshoe Island Camp. I can't say enough about the amazing hosts ( Ian, Linda and Kaylee) as they always do all they can to ensure your vacation is exceptional. The cabins are clean, efficient and very comfortable. The fishing is top notch and the boat rentals are the best I have ever seen at a fishing camp. Our boat came with an electric start, fish finder, comfortable seating and live well. Perfect for fishing. Be sure to bring your good camera as the scenery is breathtaking. I have already booked for next year which will be my sixth consecutive trip. Top fishing and relaxing destination destination for sure !! I have been to many fish camps in Ontario but none better than Horseshoe Island !!

Second time here and had a great time. Stayed in the Eagles Nest cabin which is very picturesque. Caught walleye, pike and smallmouth. Hosts are exceptional and Ian went so far as to repair my boat trailer bunk secretly. That is over and above!!!

This is the second time that we’ve stayed at Horseshoe Island and it won’t be the last. Ian and his family are top notch hosts, helpful and friendly. They will make sure you have a great stay. If you ask, Ian will tell you where to fish and how to fish that area. They let my 82 year old father borrow a heavy coat during the cold weather and also let us use a different dock so it was easier for him to get in and out. The cabins are clean and comfortable. Everything is well maintained. We took our own boat, so we didn’t use one of their rentals, however we heard them and those outboards purr. The camp itself is clean with no debris or trash anywhere. There are kayaks to use and games in the shop if you need a break from the weather. 10/10. We’ll see you again, hopefully next year. Thank you!!

The Cabins are rustic, but clean and well maintained. Everything is run off propane, no electricity in the cabins. We took a small generator to charge boat batteries and our cell phones. The entire area is beautiful, we saw golden and bald eagles, tons of Loons were around to be seen and heard. The lake is quiet, not busy with boats or cottages. The fishing was good. We caught bass, pike, pickerel, and a couple of perch over our week. The owners are very friendly and helpful, so thankful for Ian's fishing and lake knowledge. We will definitely go back next year.

Well I think this is our 7th year going and every year it seems it always gets better. Weather was great only lost 1/2 a day to rain out of 7. Ian, Kylie and Linda are the best. When you read reviews I don't think you will find another fishing camp with a perfect 5 for reviews, they do. And there's a reason, they care, any issues are dealt with right away and perfectly. I could never say enough about them. Fishing is comparable to a fly in. This year we came home half a day early , only because my arm was so sore from setting the hook and bringing in fish. The lodging is very clean and spotless . You have to remember no hydro, so hot showers ,stove, fridge, and lights all run on propane. Which means all the tanks have to be brought on the island. Fire wood for your wood stove is all cut stacked and dry. Boats are clean and run great. Beds are comfortable trash is emptied regularly with a smile. If you listen to Ian or any of the regulars you will not have a night without a fish fry. In closing I must say if you try this place you will never go anywhere else (Heaven on earth ). Thanks for another FANTASTIC year see you in 358 more days Greg & Glen from Niagara.

Well, I'm happy to say I've been going to Horseshoe Island Camp for 40 years now! (1982). Yeah...I kinda like it! Ian, Linda and Kylie do an outstanding job of keeping the camp running smooth and efficient as par usual. I'm not sure who they are connected to but they always seem to order warm sunshine and lots of great fish for when my son and I arrive for the week. Those are some pretty high connections I must say! The cottages are spotless (great job by the ladies who do the cleaning), the boats and motors run like a dream and are always incredibly reliable! Over the decades I have recommended Horseshoe Island Camp to many friends and family, whom have all enjoyed years of fun and fishing. This year certainly didn't disappoint! The scenery and water are pristine. It is not unusual to see amazing wildlife such as bear, moose, bobcats. The peace and quiet...very tranquil! Just can't be beat! At the end of our relaxing great week, my son and I were taken back to the landing by Ian who dropped us off. Upon loading our car, my son and I noticed we had a flat tire...and the jack wrench mysteriously didn't fit the lugnuts, ((WHAT?😬))...so we couldn't get the tire off. We'd still be there if it wasn't for Ian and his generous assistance. Ian came back to bail us out! Thank you Ian...it did the trick and got us into town for the fix. Outstanding! Another great year. Another great experience. Another relaxing time. Next year is in the book. I highly recommend Horseshoe Island Camp to anyone looking for an enjoyable and tranquil experience! Just do it!! Thanks Ian, Linda and Kylie! Cheers, and see you next year! A.S. and son. (13-20 August, 2022).

Horseshoe is a great place to stay. We like how secluded it is. It has great fishing. Ian and his family are very friendly and always willing to accommodate. We have been coming up for a few years now and it is the highlight of our summer.

Ian, Linda & Kylie were fantastic hosts. From the moment you arrive with Ian helping to unload your gear into the cabin. Kylie taking the time to chit chat about the day to Linda sending my wife a cinnamon roll. The cabins are clean and comfortable and everyone has a great view. Of course the fishing it top notch and we are never disappointed with our catch. I have been coming for 20 years and have had a great time every year. If you want to experience the great outdoors then Horseshoe Island Camp is the place to do it at.
