We absolutely LOVED the studio here. The room was so spacious and had two showers! It was perfect. The resort grounds were beautiful, and the pool is so fun. The theming truly makes you feel like you are on a tropical island, yet you are so close to Magic Kingdom and Epcot!

My family of five (kids ages 10, 8 and 3) stayed in a studio villa for 6 nights in February. While I liked the location of the resort, its various restaurants and the gorgeous lobby and outdoor common areas I was a bit disappointed in our room.

First, the positives. The Poly lobby is beautiful and you feel transported as soon as you enter. The green area by Capt Cook's is a fun place for kids the hang out. The kids also loved the beach and playing in the sand. 'Ohana was delicious and a nice derivation from the other meals at Disney. The food at Kona was satisfactory but unfortunately the service was very slow.

The location of the Poly is very convenient to Magic Kingdom. The buses ran pretty smoothly (every 20 min) to Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Disney Springs although most evenings we caught a quick $15 taxi ride home from the parks other than MK.

Housekeeping did a really nice job with our room - they really took their time spiffying up every day. One day (an error on my part) I left the "do not disturb" sign up all day and came home late to a messy room and had to request towels and toiletries. The staff quickly delivered everything we needed.

The Murphy Bed was very thoughtfully executed - the kids loved the little light and the picture of Lilo & Stitch. It was an excellent use of space.

And now the negatives. We were disappointed that even though we had faxed in and followed up on our request for rooms none of our requests were met (we didn't request just one or two rooms but rather a long list of options). Upon entering our room there was an unpleasant odor that I wrongly convinced myself might fade as the week went on. It smelled of uncleanliness, sweat and feet. The odor never faded and I never felt "clean" in the room. I assume the upholstery and carpet needed a good shampoo. The bathrooms although generous in size felt so dark and a bit dingy. The furniture was very scratched up and really showed signs of wear. The room didn't feel like it was $500+ a night.

While the location and common areas of the Poly were nice the villa really could use some TLC to measure up.

Every day seems like a luau at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Flowered leis, tropical scents, and a relaxing atmosphere make you feel like you've reached paradise, and you might be right! I'm delighted your family had such a wonderful time. My favorite part of your review is when you mention how much your kids loved the space outside of Capt. Cook's! I was instantly taken back to my own fond memories of my daughter spending time there. It's a great place to run free, make friends, and enjoy being outdoors in such a lovely place. It's such a simple space, but one of my favorite parts of the Resort hotel. Although requests are never guaranteed, I can understand the disappointment of having given so many options that turned out to be unavailable. I can definitely see how this feeling of disappointment was intensified by the unusual smell in the room. I sincerely apologize. If you ever notice something like this in the future, be sure to share it with our Cast Members at the front desk. We want to address any concerns right away. Thank you for sharing your experience. We hope you will join us again soon. Anna Disney Social Reviews

If the studios in the Polynesian Villas are available (they’re Disney Vacation Club, so they aren’t always an option unless you’re DVC), they are a fantastic location and very spacious for a family. One of my favorite things about these rooms is that they have two bathroom areas. One is a shower with a sink area and the other is a larger bath/shower with the toilet and sinks. This is nice if you’re putting a porta-crib in one of the bathrooms since you still have use of the other!

These rooms come with a little kitchenette with a sink as well if you want to bring snacks, refrigerate anything or need baby food/milk.

We’ve stayed in these three times and always on the ground floor which is nice for utilizing the little porch area. There are grassy areas that the porches are open to for kids to play.

The rooms are nicely laid out and have two beds, “pull down” kids twin sized bed and a little sitting area.

They’re fairly far from the main Polynesian Hotel, so it can be a bit of a walk for dining options there. But you’re a really quick walk to the transportation center which makes for a quick hop to Magic Kingdom on the monorail or boat, or to Epcot on the monorail.

This was my first stay at the Polynesian resort, although I have visited the resort for meals or shopping at least 10 times in the last 18 years. The feel is tropical/Hawaiian, rooms are big, and cast members are helpful.

We stayed in a studio room in the Tokelau building on the third floor, with a view of the water if we looked to the right out of our balcony. It was a fantastic view for having not paid for a water view upgrade. The room was very spacious, with two bathrooms (although just one toilet- but both bathrooms had a shower and a sink with lots of counter space, so it made it easy for two people to get ready). A couple of times I needed an extra coffee packet and I would just politely ask a house keeping worker for one and they happily gave it to me. Towels, sheets and pillows were all very comfy. Extra bedding is in the closet for the pull down bed (which we didn't use).

During our stay the resort was under construction and masking rules for Covid were still applicable. However, we found lots of good food options both at Captain Cook's quick service and Kona Cafe had a to-go option if we didn't have reservations. Also there are Dole Whips available around the Corner from Captain Cook's.

We loved the more "Quiet" pool near the DVC rooms, although the main pool was open as well, which had waterslides and more features for children. The pool bar wasn't open yet when we were there, but I believe it opened back up the next week.

Transportation to the parks was quick; the monorail stop at the Polynesian is under construction at this time, but they were running busses to both Epcot and the Magic Kingdom very often. While I missed the monorail, we did walk over to Ticket and Transportation Center one night to use the monorail to go to the Contemporary for a dinner over there. It was a quick walk and no big deal at all.

I enjoyed the mid-century modern theming all across the room and the buildings and think it's super cute. I would love to have enough points to stay at a Bungalow on the water someday. This resort ranks right up there with all of the Disney DVC resorts I have stayed at (all but two), and I would love to come back, both again with my partner and or with family.

Aloha and Thanks for sharing your experience during your escape to our little slice of paradise. This Resort has so much to offer our Guests with our tropical blooms, relaxing pools, yummy cuisine, and top it off our wonderful and attentive Cast Members. It truly sounds like you had a remarkable getaway and enjoyed all the aspects of this amazing Resort. I am also glad to hear that our construction had very little impact on your stay and we hope that you will come back to see all the new magic we have in store. This feels like an average resort for Disney and strangely has a cult following. I enjoy the polynesian theme, but this resort is not our favorite. The benefits are strictly proximity to the park and transportation hub. The new walking path to Magic Kingdom from Grand Floridian next door are a great new benefit. This resort shares a gym with the Grand Floridian at a location on the GF property. The pool offers up activities as usual, there are two pools, a place to get DoleWhips, restaurants, and bars. The negative for us was that the DVC rooms were WAY too small at what felt like an average resort and not worth the high point value at all.
We’ve stayed at all the DVC resorts and this is our least favorite. Please remember that each person has their own preferences for when staying at Disney, which is why Disney has so many resorts to choose from. They all have their positives and negatives. We enjoyed the artwork around the resort, the restaurants and bars, and ability to walk and visit other resorts and MK nearby. The small rooms and layout of the resort were not what we prefer.

Welcome home! As always, thank you for being a part of our Disney Vacation Club family and taking the time to share a review and some beautiful photos of your visit. While I'm glad you enjoyed your stay overall and your family enjoyed the proximity to Magic Kingdom Park, I'm very sorry our South Seas-inspired accommodations did not meet your expectations. We always want our Guests to have a relaxing retreat to return to after a long day in the Parks, so I am saddened to read that your Deluxe Studio missed the mark this time. Although Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows accommodations were not an ideal fit for your family, I hope we get to welcome you back home again real soon. Zoey Disney Social Reviews

Stayed in Disneys Polynesian resort and had a wonderful stay.
Everything about this resort is wonderful. It has a polynesian/Hawaiian themeing and you are welcomed with an aloha and flower lei. Disney touches all around make this place really special. Checked in and had to wait for the room to be ready, but got to enjoy the wonderful resort while waiting.
There are 2 gift shops with disney merchandise, a quick service "captain cooks" restaurant (sells noodles, pulled pork, fries, salads, hot dogs etc), a table service "Ohana" restaurant, bars, a dole whip counter... you wont go hungry!
There is plenty to do, with lovely pools and activities including a gym. Easy access to the magic kingdom via monorail or boat, and disney transport to all the other parks. It's also a short walk to the grand floridian resort.
We were in a studio room, which was wonderful. A double bed, pull out sofa bed, a murphy bed (room sleeps 5), and 2 bathroom, and a kitchenette. The room was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed for our stay. It was a short walk to the main building through the lovely grounds.
The only issue was the mousekeeping. 8am on check out morning and they were hammering on the door, and continued to do so every 20 mins until we left at 10, despite knowing we were still in there and check out is 11am. We appreciate they have a hard job but still, it would be nice to pack up in peace.
This is a great resort if you are visiting the magic kingdom and I would 100% come back!

The moment you step foot in the beautiful lobby of this unique Resort, you're immediately transported to the beauty and serenity of the South Pacific and that feeling carries throughout your visit! Whether you're enjoying a delicious meal at 'Ohana, dipping your toes in the Lava Pool or simply winding down in your room after a fun-filled Theme Park day, you can feel the spirit of aloha. Of course, if you're looking for extra excitement, it's never too far away; Magic Kingdom Park is right across Seven Seas Lagoon and can be reached by boat or monorail. It sounds like you were able to take advantage of all this and more during your time with us! I do want to apologize for the frustrations you shared regarding the end of your stay. I absolutely understand how this put a damper on your last morning and truly appreciate you sharing this feedback with us. Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your magical stay! We look forward to welcoming you back for another relaxing getaway real soon. Liz Disney Social Reviews

The resort is beautiful. There are multiple restaurants and Dole Whip. We enjoyed the Oasis pool with a full bar and food. The room is spacious and the two bathrooms is a huge plus. The only negative is the housekeeping. We rented points and understood we would only have garbage daily. But the daily garbage seemed inconsistent. Additionally we had to call for towels daily. We called and asked if someone could collect the used towels after a few days, but no one came. We finally asked one of the nice housekeepers on the floor if we could bring down towels to place in her dirty linen cart. For the cost of the hotel, delivery and removal of towels should be this challenging. Disney should step up on this area.

At over 700 a day not with it. Stayed 5 nights we have stayed 6 times at other disney property value and moderate hotels. It does offer the monerail but with the new skylines at the other hotels they are just as good and cheaper. Pool is small with many kids can't lounge in a raft and relax. Won't be back.

Having stayed at some of our other properties previously, I’m very sorry our South Seas-inspired location did not also meet your expectations. Though it’s a special treat to stay so close to Magic Kingdom Park and have onsite access to the Walt Disney World Resort Monorail, I certainly understand the appeal of our Value and Moderate Resorts. We have stayed at all the DVC Deluxe resorts (via point rental) and the Poly is our favorite and preferred hotel - we have now stayed at it 4 times, for 5-8 days.

We prefer the Poly studio for the following reasons:
* 2 bathrooms! Good for sharing, but even better when used for a separate dark room for a pack & play for a baby or toddler.

*Short walks to the room, pool, food, transportation.

* Monorail to the MK, walking distance to the monorail to Epcot - with a stroller this is fantastic

* lots of space on the beach and grounds for kids to run and run and run

* a wonderful pool and water slide

*dole whip, right at the hotel!

Hot tips:

*rent points for discounted rooms

*a split stay (staying at 2 resorts) is a great way to experience multiple resorts and areas of the parks. Disney will move your bags for you while you’re at the parks.

*you can fax room requests to ask for a room in a preferred building location, view etc. (a planning website provides this service online too)

Just finished up a 6 night family vacation at the Polynesian and loved every minute of it. I traveled with a family of 4, 2 kids ( 8 and 5) and stayed in the Tokelau building. Room had plenty of space and had an amazing view of the bungalow and Grand Floridian. Were able to watch the fireworks from my balcony.

From the first minute we stepped on property, we were welcomed by amazing staff members. Everyone was courteous throughout the resort.

Having the monorail system and the ferry boats to travel was a huge plus and don’t think I will ever want to stay at Disney without these.

My kids loved the pools here which had one with slides and a splash area for smaller kids. Had a resort feels here staff would go around and serve the adult beverages from the bars.

Overall we loved our stay at the Polynesian and would highly recommend
