Our second stay at this lovely peaceful place - excellent service - once again made very welcome by everyone - a very comfortable and spacious room and super breakfast . Very convenient for visits to Melrose and surrounding area with excellent local restaurants nearby . We will return as we love it there Thanks to Sheila & Ian for such...

Our beautiful room had wonderful views over Melrose. We used Fauhope House as our base for a week on the Borders Abbeys Way which is a circular walk of about 70 miles including Kelso, Jedburgh, Hawick, Selkirk and Melrose. Sheila and Ian are delightful and charming hosts. Their breakfast were magnificent and there was no shortage of top class restaurants...

We return year after year to Fauhope House and the wonderfully warm welcome of Sheila and Ian. The Melrose 7s is a great weekend and the style and luxury of Fauhope is the icing on the cake. The rooms are beautifully and individually furnished with the most comfortable beds. After a great nights sleep, Ian's breakfasts will set you up...

Of all the places we have stayed on our travels over the years, we cannot recall receiving a warmer or happier welcome. We were ushered into THE most beautifully comfortable and elegant drawing room for afternoon tea by the fireside.and told that we were here to be spoiled. Each room we saw in the whole house was extremely stylish but...

Fauhope House would be worth visiting as an attraction in itself; a perfect 1890s pocket Scottish baronial country house, terraced into the Tweed valley, with views across its own beautifully-gardened, pheasant-haunted grounds down to Melrose and across to the Eildons. What makes it such a perfect place to stay, though, is the way in which it is run. Guests don't...

Just back from a lovely weekend at Fauhope. Heartily recommend for anyone wanting a beautiful, luxurious, comfortable and delicious break. Gorgeous location near the impressive River Tweed and a short walk (via a footbridge) to pretty Melrose (interesting ruined abbey) with the village of Gattonside having two highly recommended restaurants selling local produce. The Eildon hills (extinct volcanoes) dominate the...

This is a Bed & Breakfast establishment par excellence. Beautifully and tastefully decorated in a very scenic position, this B & B can offer you the very best in what sometimes can be an overpriced and unsatisfactory business. Not here. The hosts are very friendly and nothing is too much, even offering a glass of wine in the afternoon as...

There are B&Bs. There are good B&Bs. There are great B&Bs. But then there is Fauhope which is in a class all by itself. Everything was done to make our one night stay memorable. Our room was fantastic. Breakfast was fantastic. Our hosts were fantastic. The house was fantastic. What more can I say other than thank you very much...

We stayed here for one night on our way from Aberdeen to Newcastle to take the ferry over to the Netherlands. We wish we had booked a longer stay, and were really gutted to leave! Everything you could possibly wish for (and more!) from a country house - tea and delicious cake by a roaring fire, incredibly comfortable and spotless...
