We had a really nice stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean and everything worked nicely. I thought the decor was beautiful. Dinner was a little bit expensive but really tasty. I think what really shon was the staff who really went out of their way to make sure we had a nice stay. The owners even drove us to the local hospital when I got a nasty sting in the ocean. Really nice stay, thank you!

We enjoy a 1 night stop on this hostel and we were hosted like prince by all the staff.
No swimming pool, but the sea is at 1 minutes by foot.
We wait a little bit for the lunch, but it was correct and purpose us to enjoy the Koththu festival on dinner, but we took it on another restaurant.
The price is high, but seems to be related on the situation (start to Pigeon's island right on the beach) and the tourism.

The breakfast there was very basic (continental breakfast was just bread, butter & jam) and there was not much of a choice. We wanted to have a BBQ one night and were told that we had to bring our own meat and stuff for the salads for them to prepare, they also advised us that there will be a cost for marinating the meat, the coal and for cooking. This was certainly not a small cost. So instead we asked them to prepare some local food where we were charged for cooking the stuff per kilogram. A TOTAL RIP OFF. Knowing that there are no restaurants around to have a proper meal the owners charge their guests through the nose for preparing the food.

On a positive note: We rent 6 triple rooms with breakfast on this resort. We found the rooms & bathrooms were all very clean and also the surrounding areas were clean and well maintained. Staff were very helpful and polite.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your time to provide us a review. As you stated we always give priority for cleanness and guest comfort. Our breakfast is complementary to our guest and we don’t charge for that. It may not be equivalent to a standard continental breakfast but definitely include bread toast, omelette, butter, jam, fruits and coffee/tea. Also we have a choice of Srilankan traditional breakfast which includes Dosai, Sambar, Chatni or String Hoppers, Coconut Sambal, Dhal curry or Coconut Rotti, Coconut Sambal, Dhal Curry. We offered you our standard bbq but you wanted to add some additional items in the list. So our Chefs quoted a price for the extras. Of course making a BBQ in Srilanka is not easy as making in Western countries. Things are expensive here and we need to cover up our cost too. As I responded to your friend’s review here, when we make curry dishes we have certain measurements and charge accordingly. When the quaintly increase of course our charges also increase. For example, we can’t put the same amount of ingredients for 100 grams meat to two kilograms of meat. We have lots of impressive reviews about our restaurant and food pricing. I don’t think our prices are incompatible in the market. I am glad to hear our staffs are polite and helpful to you despite some hard time with you. Thank you Management

As a couple we spent the last few days of our trip in Sri Lanka here, and we very much enjoyed the place. Staff is super friendly and helpful, the food was delicious, and the new swimming pool really added a big plus to the place. It was very clean, the location is good, close to the beach (which is quiet but popular with locals) and to pigeon island (amazing snorkeling). We also rented a scooter at the hotel for a very fair price and did our own little safari tour to some lakes close by where we found an amazing diversity of wetland birds and butterflies.
In short, whether you prefer nice food, chilling at the pool, beach, or nature: try this hotel!

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Crescent Sea Resort in August 2018. It was just what we needed after a tiring journey. We were travelling as a group of 30, and Crescent provided us with perfect place to stay, taking care of all our individual needs. The Hotel site is big enough so one doesn't feel crowded. The food was fresh and homely. The rooms and toilet were perfectly clean with every need thought of.

It was close to the sea and trips to pigeon island (great for snorkelling)..

The rooms are large and clean, and the staff super helpful.
The chef Ganesh was amazing and every meal was a Sri Lankan delight.
The hotel is less than a 5 minute walk to the beach, and the beach is beautiful! All the locals from Trincomalee come here.
They’re in the final stages of installing a swimming pool (hope to be open before end of December 2018) and this will make the property even more attractive.
We highly recommend this hotel.

It was the low season so it was just the 4 of us at the resort. The rooms are lovely, spacious, clean and have great fast wifi.

The staff are all so kind and attentive. The food was the biggest highlight. They have a new chef who is amazing. Every dinner and breakfast was different and decided every day based on what we wanted. We had some of our best meals in Sri Lanka, and the pricing was reasonable.

When we were there they were just completing the new swimming pool, and it will be done by Christmas. This will be a big benefit for guests!

Great stay, wonderful staff, amazing food!

Very disappointed when we arrived here. We booked a six night stay through booking.com and were quoted a price in the website with breakfast available of $0.05. When we were arrived we were told the price for breakfast was $5 pp per day and that 'lots of people get confused by this, will will be fine with it when we understand' but after scouring booking.com it seems it was just a mistake they hadn't rectified with them. The room was fine when we checked in but nothing special. When taking into account the breakfast price, this hotel isn't very good value for money. The main benefit of this hotel is it is near a lot of the restaurants, however we didn't feel that was a good enough reason to stay. We felt we had been mis-sold the property. We ended up cancelling and staying at a cheaper hotel for three nights which includes a good breakfast and was nearer the beach. We then stayed at a nicer hotel for the other three nicer which was on the beach and absolutely lovely.
