Welcome to your home away from home! We offer our guests friendly, courteous service & clean, comfortable and affordable accommodations that are modern, yet still maintain a rustic feel. We are located in a peaceful and natural setting, amid towering pines, situated on a peninsula overlooking the South River, which empties into the famous Lake Nipissing, a short distance downstream. Our rental boats are strong and extremely fishable, but best of all, they are up to date. Our docking facilities on Beatty Creek are well lit, have shore power and are sheltered from wind, waves and boat traffic. Who can think of Lake Nipissing without thinking of fishing? The lake is prized for its catches of walleye, monster pike, giant musky, scrappy bass and many other sought after species. The fishing opportunities are indeed limitless here with seemingly endless water to explore. We're not just about fishing, peruse some of the other activities that we have to offer - there's something for everyone!

This was my 2nd year in a row -business trip - with 2 of my customers. We all enjoyed our time at SRR. We caught 88 walleye the 1st day and 2 Musky on the 2nd day !!
This was the first time I have caught a musky !! It was super cool to catch not one but two musky. Musky are a very elusive fish and put up a great fight. We caught a 20 lb and 10 lb musky thanks to the set up on Steve’s charter boat.
Steve is a great fishing guide and made sure that we caught as many fish as possible. The cottage was clean and had all the necessary amenities to be comfortable.
I would definitely recommend South River Resort to anyone who enjoys fishing. Steve and Pam are great hosts !!
Thank you for another great trip !!

We had a great time and the hosts were very helpful and welcoming .The cabin was spotless and the stove kept the cabin nice and warm.We hired a boat and had a good days fishing. The following day was raining but I fished off the dock and landed a couple of small walleye so it was still an enjoyable day .

I've been to a lot of different resorts in my life and without a doubt this one is the absolute best.. My father and I spent recently 3 night here and had two days with their fishing charter.. The cabins come with every amenity you would have at home.. The cabins are spotless and newly renovated... They had a brand new fireplace to ensure we were cosy on those chilly northern evenings.. I like the fact I could sit outside on the deck having a BBQ if I didn't feel like cooking in the fully stocked kitchen.. It was like our own private cottage because we never really noticed the cabins beside us, being surrounded by trees and water on both sides.. After fishing all day I would relax by the fire or on a comfortable chair on their massive dock.. I don't have a single complaint.. Even the staff went above and beyond, and even further than that.. They guaranteed I had an amazing time and I did because before I left I booked another 4 day stay for the first week in January for ice fishing.. A true 5 star resort and ABSOLUTELY recommend and insist anyone going to Northbay to fish or relax stay here.. I promise you won't regret it because if you don't stay here you will..lol.. Oh, and the fishing was EXTREMELY AMAZING, I caught a 40+lb Muskie, an 18lb Tiger Muskie and about 60 pike in TWO days.. I posted a few pictures to prove I'm not tell you a fisherman's tale..lol

This was our first trip to South River Resort for on ice bungalow fishing. The bungalow was clean, comfortable and spacious. The heated outhouse was a very nice touch. Even though the weather was very cold and windy the bungalow was comfortably warm.
The fishing was steady. On a Friday to Sunday weekend at least 12 walleye. Non of the fish were over 46cm so we couldn't keep them, but we had a lot of fun trying. The hosts were very accommodating and provided great personal service. We hope to visit again next year.

We stayed at Cottage 7 as a family for a week of quiet de-stressing getaway. The cottage was super clean and very well equipped. We really enjoyed the fire place on the couple cold nights we had. The area is so beautiful and so quiet. The hosts, Pam and Steve and their daughter were amazing and so helpful with anything we needed, they always went over and beyond, even giving us seeds and peanuts so that we can enjoy the cute little chipmunks that kept vising us :) They supplied us with life jackets as we did not have any so that we can enjoy the kayaks and canoes. We don't fish but this is definitely an awesome spot for anyone who loves fishing and there are always boats available for rent. The pool was always super clean with many lounge chairs available. The hosts were also very informative about things in the area to go to when we needed something or wanted to find a place to eat :) Super nice!
