Welcome to your home away from home! We offer our guests friendly, courteous service and clean, comfortable and affordable accommodations that are modern, yet still maintain a rustic feel. We are located in a peaceful and natural setting, amid towering pines, situated on a peninsula overlooking the South River, which empties into the famous Lake Nipissing, a short distance downstream. Our rental boats are strong and extremely fishable, but best of all, they are up to date. Our docking facilities on Beatty Creek are well lit, have shore power and are sheltered from wind, waves and boat traffic. Who can think of Lake Nipissing without thinking of fishing? The lake is prized for its catches of walleye, monster pike, giant musky, scrappy bass and many other sought after species. The fishing opportunities are indeed limitless here with seemingly endless water to explore. We're not just about fishing, peruse some of the other activities that we have to offer - there's something for everyone! Join us for a dream vacation this coming season, and discover why family, friends, fishing and fun are the main reasons we've been welcoming Canadians and Americans since 1939.

Spent a week at this adorable little camp/resort in a two bedroom cottage last month and had a wonderful time. Extremely clean cottage, well equipped kitchen, very nice owners and lots of fun extras. Highly recommend.

This was my 2nd year in a row -business trip - with 2 of my customers. We all enjoyed our time at SRR. We caught 88 walleye the 1st day and 2 Musky on the 2nd day !! This was the first time I have caught a musky !! It was super cool to catch not one but two musky. Musky are a very elusive fish and put up a great fight. We caught a 20 lb and 10 lb musky thanks to the set up on Steve’s charter boat. Steve is a great fishing guide and made sure that we caught as many fish as possible. The cottage was clean and had all the necessary amenities to be comfortable. I would definitely recommend South River Resort to anyone who enjoys fishing. Steve and Pam are great hosts !! Thank you for another great trip !!

This was our first trip to South River Resort for on ice bungalow fishing. The bungalow was clean, comfortable and spacious. The heated outhouse was a very nice touch. Even though the weather was very cold and windy the bungalow was comfortably warm. The fishing was steady. On a Friday to Sunday weekend at least 12 walleye. Non of the fish were over 46cm so we couldn't keep them, but we had a lot of fun trying. The hosts were very accommodating and provided great personal service. We hope to visit again next year.

We stayed at Cottage 7 as a family for a week of quiet de-stressing getaway. The cottage was super clean and very well equipped. We really enjoyed the fire place on the couple cold nights we had. The area is so beautiful and so quiet. The hosts, Pam and Steve and their daughter were amazing and so helpful with anything we needed, they always went over and beyond, even giving us seeds and peanuts so that we can enjoy the cute little chipmunks that kept vising us :) They supplied us with life jackets as we did not have any so that we can enjoy the kayaks and canoes. We don't fish but this is definitely an awesome spot for anyone who loves fishing and there are always boats available for rent. The pool was always super clean with many lounge chairs available. The hosts were also very informative about things in the area to go to when we needed something or wanted to find a place to eat :) Super nice!

We stayed for three nights in July 2017. Cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. Nice deck, BBQ and patio set. Beds comfortable and resort nice and quiet. Steve was really helpful putting onto some fishing spots. We did pretty well with walleye, bass and perch. Didn't get any walleye that we could keep but had a nice fish fry nonetheless. Had a nice afternoon on the kayaks as well. I would definitely recommend South River Resort to anyone interested in a fishing trip.

We had a great time and the hosts were very helpful and welcoming .The cabin was spotless and the stove kept the cabin nice and warm.We hired a boat and had a good days fishing. The following day was raining but I fished off the dock and landed a couple of small walleye so it was still an enjoyable day .

We stayed here June 2017. As promised by Steve the Walleye fishing was phenomenal! They were mostly small 14"-18" but we did catch some keepers. We also caught many huge small mouths and northern pike. This is the best "fishing camp" I have ever stayed in, newly remodeled cabins with new mattresses, satellite TV, new appliances and furniture. My wife would have liked this place! :-) Steve and Pam did everything they could to accommodate us while there! Steve graciously showed us all the "hot spots" and provided a detailed map. He even took his boat out one day while we were out and made sure we were on the right spot. This place is A+++ for accommodations, fishing and service!
