I had an amazing time in Guguletu! Liziwe's Guesthouse is an absolutely beautiful space and I received the best hospitality possible. The guesthouse is located right in the middle of the Guguletu township, which really provides a unique experience (and a very rewarding one, too). The people in the township are so very friendly and you will be welcomed with...

Together with my friends I had the opportunity to spend an amazing weekend at Liziwe´s. We didn´t really had big expectations as we all thought “well, what can we expect in a township”. I remember exactly how I felt when I entered the guesthouse and Liziwe and Andrew greeted us. I was so amazed by the hospitality and the warm-heartedness!...

My family and I stayed for two nights in Liziwi's Guesthouse. The welcoming athmosphere and service were excellent. Andrew and Donald made it a great stay, picked us up from the airport, and helped us out when we had problems with our rental car. It is a great place to stay and get used to the African mode of living,...

While at home in New Zealand, I was trawling around the internet looking for accommodation for our family (2 adults, 2 kids age 6 and 9) while in Cape Town. I came across Liziwi's Guest House. I thought it looked interesting and proceeded to contact them. Bookings were made, and confirmed with ease. When we arrived we were given the...

My husband and I had such an amazing experience at Liziwe's Guesthouse. Liziwe and Donald have graciously opened their beautiful home to others, and from the minute you step in the door, you feel like family. Andrew gave us a tour of the township- and it was so much better than traditional township tours. We loved this experience-- we were...

A must stay for anyone wanting to experience true township life. We were not content with seeing a township from a bus so we decided to stay at this lovely guesthouse in gugu. We were greeted by Liziwe and Andrew upon our arrival and the fun started! Andrew had a full day planned for our tour which included visiting a...

Liziwe has created a comfortable & characterful home which is the perfect base to explore & experience true township life. We were made to feel very welcome. I highly recommend Liziwe's to all visitors to South Africa but especially to our local South Africans - lets support our local communities! And don't forget to visit Mzoli's just down the road...

We spent 2 nights at Liziwe's on our arrival into South Africa. A genuine Township stay hosted by an amazing family. Lovely ensuite bedroom. Superb views over the Township to Table Mountain. Balcony safety railings to be put in when can be afforded, Donald fiercely proud of his achievements building Liziwe's without borrowing any money and is respected for doing...

I absolutely agree that a bus tour of a township is not enough to get a real feel for the area, plus it's hard to know whether your money is really going to the people in the township. Staying at Liziwe's is a way to get to know the township better, and you can feel confident that your money is...
