We really enjoyed our 2 night stay. We had a luxury room and it was spacious and comfortable (the green room).

Breakfast is an extra cost but it's a great meal. In addition to the cheese, cold cuts, yogurt, lox, pastries you can have a freshly cooked egg.

We ate dinner at their restaurant (a short walk from the hotel) and really enjoyed our meals. The restaurant is very busy and reservations are needed.

If we're ever in the region again we would definitely stay here again.

On our bike Tour in Alsace we're lucky that the agent had choosen this wonderful hotel. The rooms were big and of high quality with a lovely balcony overlooking the wonderful garden. The breakfast was delicious however the lunch and dinner We had at the separate restaurant "restaurant Hellmann" was a delightful surprise: french cuisine at the best, however not inexpensive. The service is good and friendly, and the lady of the house AS well as her husband take good care of their guests both at the hotel and in the restaurant.

I booked this hotel along with several others about five months before my visit. Our trip was a 4000km car journey through five countries to our destination in Italy. After a log day driving we headed off to Osthouse. We have stayed in the Alsace region many times as it is one of our favourite areas in France. We had to do 40km detour to get to Osthouse as there was not a crossing over the railway line.
As we approached the town we went through an industrial area - nothing like the rolling hills of the lovely wine villages and I began to think that I had made a terrible mistake in booking this hotel. The temperature was over 36 degrees and I had visions of arriving and the bedroom would have been in the direct sunlight all day and would be stifling. After a discussion with my wife we decided to check it out and if it was not right for us we would find somewhere else.
Boy, am I glad we carried on to the hotel - it was just perfect in every way. I knew that it was a converted barn / farm type of rustic hotel - the type that we prefer. Le patron greeted us with a friendly smile and showed us to our bedroom which was a brand new, top quality, contemporary styling type with air- con.It was certainly no inferior to some 4 and 5 star hotel bedrooms that I have stayed in.
After a welcoming glass of beer on our own table just outside the bedroom we relaxed and decided that we were so pleased that we had not turned back and gone somewhere else.
As Osthouse is a tiny hamlet we thought it would be a good idea to have dinner in the courtyard at the hotel. There was only a fixed menu but the description sounded interesting. We were not disappointed as the meal was superb - all washed down with a nice Alsation Pinot Gris.
We awoke the next morning fully refreshed and ready to continue our journey. But first we had to experience the breakfast - nothing less than a wonderful `smorgasbord` of breads, meats, fresh fruit, jams, eggs etc.
Would I recommend this hotel ? NO !
you MUST GO and enjoy this perfect small hotel- tres formidable !!!
It is worth more than a five star rating !!!

We only stayed one night at this hotel and would have liked to have stayed longer. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the food was excellent. I didn't realise when I booked that the breakfast wasn't included but when it arrived it was a real feast, although a rather expensive. My only reservation is that a car is needed to see everything that the area has to offer. A very enjoyable experience.

Dear all travellers,

We already staid in Hôtel A La Ferme on last May. We just staid again from 4th until 8th september. We spent a lovely time in it :
- large and comfortable rooms
- perfect cleanliness (as most of the time in Alsace)
- very friendly welcome
- perfect, friendly and attentive service
- a green and relaxing area nearby Strasbourg
- tasty breakfast with a large choice
- well located and not far from Strasbourg, Colmar, and most of so many villages in Alsace
- above all, within five minutes walking distance also in Osthouse, a wonderful restaurant "Aigle d'Or" (same owners) : probably, one the very best we know. Really, a natural (fish and meat) fantastic cooking.
If you expect travelling and staying in Alsace, be confident in this charming hotel an it's marvellous restaurant. A great thank to Mr. and Mrs. Hellmann and everybody in hotel and restaurant. We hope coming again as soon as possible. Kind Regards.

We could only stay one night, en route to Switzerland, but loved the hotel, the food, and above all the welcome from Brigitte and her husband, the chef. As we were there on a Monday when the restaurant (which is just up the road) was closed, we were served a superb set meal in the dining room. Breakfast was first class too.

The room was large, comfortable, individual, with a good bathroom, and rooms seem to each have their own terrace or balcony. The only possible minus is there was a shower but no bath in the bathroom.

Osthouse is an agricultural village about 20 miles out of Strausbourg. We were doing a bicycle tour through the Alsace region and we landed up in this tiniest of villages. It is an area where the cash crop is tobacco and there are neat farms all around. This is a town where you blink and you have missed it.
But there is a gem worth it in this place. It is a converted farm and some new renovations make it a lovely stop for awhile.
Our room was very spacious , a couch, 2 sitting chairs, built in shelves with closet and that was before the sleeping area. The bed was large and comfy and linens were clean. The bathroom was to die for. Spa like, all marble with the best amenities. The shower was like mine at home except made from marble. Robes and slippers to boot! A find that is very unusual in such an isolated area. The courtyard was peaceful and very pretty with all of the flowers in full bloom. There was an area of lounging with chaise lounge chairs outside. The couple owners live there and speak English very well. The dining area is exquisite and it took 13 months to renovate it along with the reception area and kitchen. The male owner is the chef at the only restaurant in town. That place was closed the day that we were there however he prepared us and other guests an evening meal and served it in the breakfast area. He is a very good chef and the meal was quite inexpensive.
If you are near Strasbourg, motor out to Osthouse for a memorable stay at Hotel A La Ferme!

My wife found this family run hotel on the internet and what a little gem it is. It is hidden away and off the beaten track, however once found you'll want to return again and again.
The hotel is small but charming. It is set in beautiful gardens and the exterior and interior decor is of a very high standard. Some five star hotels could take a leaf out of their book. We were warmly greeted and shown to our suite which contained all the little extras normally reserved for more expensive properties.
Breakfast is a culinary delight with the food being prepared by one of the fine chefs from the family run restaurant A L'Aigle D'or.
The restuarant again is a one off and if you enjoy fine Michelin Star quality food reasonably priced then this again is the place for you.
We stayed two nights one week apart and found the same excellent service on both occasions.
The hotel is located in the quiet quaint village of Osthouse, which is close to Strasbourg and Colmar, Alsace.

A very charming hotel in a small village. We had a very nice large room and very clean. The owner was very nice helped us with our luggage. The breakfast was a feast. Good WiFi. Only one complaint the mattress was very soft, it felt like a water bed.
