Very easy access to and from the M4 and next to a beefeater and McDonald’s.really handy for a stop over if your attending an event at the ICC which is opposite at Celtic Manor. On arrival we discovered our room was on the second floor but due to my daughter having anxiety issues and ADHD so couldn’t sleep there so the lovely lady on reception Cath tried her best to relocate out room but due to booking in line and it being a zipped room this wasn’t possible so my daughter and I swapped with our friends who’s room
Was on the first floor. Cath was amazing she didn’t just write us off like she couldn’t be bothered she tried everything to make our stay more enjoyable.
(Thank you Cath we did manage to stay the night and get some
Sleep and checked out this morning) we are now at home and relaxing after our mammoth 6 hr journey the day before.we would definitely stay here again.

When one arrives at reception in most chain hotel establishments, it is clear that the staff are employees doing a job, efficiently maybe, but without personal investment or commitment.
Rare indeed is the chain hotel whose reception staff greet their guests as warmly and enthusiastically as would the proprietor of an owner-run establishment. Rarer too in Wales, is the reception area of a chain hotel which celebrates the local Welsh heritage without abandoning its brand image.
This one was different. There were no half measures with Gill (sorry about the pun!) and her colleague, Helen, on the Friday evening before the Wales v Italy match. They showed a personal interest (without being intrusive) and ensured that we could have the best deal at the neighbouring restaurant.
That aside, this outlet is brilliantly located less than a mile from the (Celtic Manor) roundabout off the M4 motorway. Parking close to the door is sometimes a little crowded, but the whole of the site is available free of charge as long as you give your registration number at reception.

We stayed at the Premier Inn Newport on Wednesday for 1 night. On arrival our car unfortunately broke down so we had to park in a wide parking space as our power steering went bust. The reception team where very helpful with our car and checking if they would like us to call the AA etc. The reception did look a little tired but okay for walking in and out of, the room where great a little smaller than other premier inn rooms but I love the new room design unfortunately this hotel did not have the mood lighting on top of the bed. The room was very warm even with it being cold outside, the bathroom was your standard premier inn bathroom but we noticed that the hand soap was in the bath and the shampoo was in a the sink? The hotel is next to a beefeater and McDonald’s the beefeater was good for dinner and breakfast was a varied selection. When trying to fix our car we had multiple people asking us that there car had ‘broken down’ and they needed a lift, a little bit dodgy as they where just wondering round the car park.

Overall our stay was good, the location was good and I would not hesitate to stay again.

I was in Wales for only a couple days for a friend's wedding and needed somewhere convenient, cost effective and comfortable to stay.

I've not stayed a Premier Inn previously but will definitely do so in the future. From the moment I arrived, I felt looked after by the staff particularly in light of the current Covid-19 pandemic. They were friendly, helpful and advised me of what extra measure were in place. The rules relating to wearing face masks changed during my stay and the posters up around the hotel were updated immediately.

The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Given the current circumstances, they aren't coming into clean each day and replenish coffee and towels etc. for guests staying more than one night but I was told if I needed anything extra just to pop down to reception and it would be provided.

Overall I was very happy with my stay and will be booking a Premier Inn again in the future.

Staff went out of their way to accommodate the high outside temperature. There was always chilled water available and my room had the curtains drawn to keep it cool when I arrived.
The wet room was as expected in a Premier Inn and met my accessibility needs.

Well located for ICC. Not one of the largest Premier Inns but very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms clean with windows which opened to air the room but could not be left open all night due to motorway noise.
This hotel is located right by the M4 - going to London but once the windows are closed is quiet. Traffic was heard from about 5.30 onwards but having to be up by
5.45 caused us no problems. We were after all staying for business. Room was clean with tea and coffee making facilities, extra pillows and large comfy bed. . Large tv on wall, Would recommend.

The location is awful, in a services area alongside a McDonald’s and nothing else, literally, you are caged in here.

The rooms are old, as is the furniture and carpets. No air conditioning.

At the restaurant they kept us waiting at the table (booked in advance) for 1 hour every single evening and morning before serving us. Food was almost always cold and they always forget something.

I am a fan of Premier Inn, but I would not recommend this one, and next time I will certainly do my homework before booking. I thought PI was always a safe bet, it obviously isn’t.

We have stayed here before purely for its location and we had a better experience, this time we were in a room that was so uncomfortably hot even with a fan in the room. On the 2nd floor with children we couldn't leave the safety window open and the fan was pushing hot around the room. And had to be careful with them and the fan. We were called the day before arrival to book meals to which we did one and when getting to the restaurant there was record which was embarrassing and disappointing as we then had no meal as they were fully booked.

The room had no aircon and the temp inside was 25deg. We slept with the window ajar and an electric fan on throughout the entire time we were in the room. There was a breakfast box available and was good value for a light breakfast

During these times of Covid when lets face it hotels have had plenty of time to put their house in order, there is no excuse for dirty rooms or non functioning heating. In this case unfortunatly both were not only present but also obvious. The toilet was discoloured and dirty around the seat hinges, the heating thermostat was hanging off the wall and the smoke detector had months worth of cobwebs on it.
When we complained about the heating, we were told that due to covid we could not be moved rooms and no maintenance was available. The receptionist rummaged around in a store room and discovered an old electic panel heater that had seen better days and advised me to help myself.
To be fair when we complained to HQ with photos they confirmed they would investigate and promply gave a full refund.
