Detailed Reviews
This is the motto of Shamadon RV resort and it is absolutely accurate. Just a simple campground with some open amenities.
While there is really nothing wrong with the park, it is certainly not worthy of the word resort. It’s officially the most expensive park we’ve stayed in in Ontario at over 100 a night and it’s not even 50 amp service. The upkeep is pretty nice and it has a very nice beach area at a swimming pond. But there were discarded cigarette butts over the beach and in our fire pit.
The sites are extremely small and don’t offer much in the way of privacy. But the park provides free firewood as part of your stay. The large Rubbermaid bin is filled daily first thing in the morning and the firewood is some of the best we’ve seen. There is site side garbage pick up which is a nice amenity we wish more parks had, and the staff seem friendly and helpful.
The hilltop sites offer some nice views and are away from the seasonal campers who tend to race around on golf carts making this a quieter area of the park and nice sunrise views over the children’s play area.
Overall just an average park with an above average price tag so I don’t imagine we will return with other amazing options within a couple hours drive.

Camped at this gorgeous campground 3 times this season. I love how clean and well maintained everything is. Patrick is very friendly and works tirelessly picking up garbage we set out, filling our firewood boxes and everything else he has to do to keep this campground running. Even when full it is still quiet and peaceful. I know we will spend a lot more time camping at Shamadon.

We camped here for our very first time when we bought our trailer a couple years ago and recommended it to everyone . We LOVED it ! This time we didn’t love it as much . Every time I called I had wonderful customer service , but when we arrived we had the absolute most miserable rude human being we have ever met . Has turned us off from returning . A gentleman that works there delivered peacock feathers to our girls which turned the experience around for sure .
Our wood box was FULL of water snakes and the lot in general was full of gardener snakes . I realize when your camping there is going to be some wildlife but it was a little much :/.
Our site was across the pool which wasn’t open due to covid (no ones fault of course ) but was difficult to explain to our 3 year old and 20 month old . So we tried to take them to the playground which was always full of big kids. A time limit sign of a half hour maybe would be nice so other kids can use it :). The beach is very nice and the seasonal as seemed friendly !

If you have money to burn then go ahead and visit this campground but it’s not a resort at all. This campground has nothing to offer but a large price tag at over a hundred dollars a night there’s absolutely nothing exceptional about this place, I’d rather visit Fisherman’s Cove it at least has amenities that are closer to a resort and worth the money.
Beware as they have once again increased there prices and have offered absolutely nothing for the extra costs.

my husband and I ( seniors) recently spent 2 nights in one of the cabins at Shamadon. it was our first time there, and we liked the fact that we only had a 1 hour drive to get there. our cabin was roomy but the beds were quite hard . We had privacy as we backed on to the bush. Lots of firewood was supplied with the cost which was $183.00/night ( including tax) We thought it was expensive. Paid that amount recently per night for rental of a full cottage. We brought our fishing poles, as we like to fish, but the fishing sucked. There was only 2 small docks on which to fish, and when we did get to the dock at supper hour ( as the kids went back to their sights) we did not catch one fish. The turtles in the pond devoured our worms. We did not see any fish caught at all. We were glad we only booked 2 nights, as we didn't know what else to do after the 2nd day. The pool was closed. There was lots at the camp for kids to do.

This is by far our favourite campground in Ontario. The park is always clean. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Patrick is there to greet you with a smile and he always remembers your name. Amanda is super friendly and happy. There is always something new every year. We can’t wait to go back every year

Had a drive through this campground today and admittedly was expecting something special given the outrageous prices. Much to my disappointment all we found was a typical campground for this region, there were a some sites with concrete pads that you don’t usually find but other than that nothing any other campground in this part of Ontario doesn’t offer. The campground itself is somewhat tight if you have a bigger rig and it’s miles from anything down a dirt road. I’m not sure how they arrived at the price, can’t be because it’s so popular given it was half empty when we visited. In any event we were disappointed with what we saw. In the end they can charge whatever they like but it’s always the customer who gets the final say. I wish them luck.

Be aware Shamadon RV resort will never be the same anymore! What was once a peaceful refuge a home away from home. It is very clear that a shift happened in the past year it seems that the tide has shifted away from customer service and more towards a focus on dollars. Do not be fooled by the owner it is very very expensive to camp there for 1 night or for the season and your business will not be appreciated! Patrick is Shamadon’. He exemplified the values and care that we were so happy to have initially found at Shamadon but when he leaves it will go with him.

Response from Shamadon, Owner at Shamadon RV Resort
Responded Nov 23, 2017
Owing to high demand, every year in September, all seasonal Campers receive a notice giving them two weeks to reserve their sites with a $500 non-refundable deposit for the next year. If payment is not received by 6 pm on the dead line, their wish of not renewing is honored. Should they desire to become a seasonal camper again, they will be favored with a new lease but have to pay an extra $500 administration fee as stated in the notice of renewal. In order to protect our staff from having to beg for payments, it is expensive for those who choose not to pay on time. We are known for providing excellent services to campers who respect their obligation to provide the “Dollars”. Mutual respect is non-negotiable. There are Campgrounds for every Camper’s budget. By choosing the Campground that fits your paying habit, you will have a good camping experience. Shamadon Resort – An Upscale Resort for the Discerning RVer.

I have been camping for a long time and this place is by far my favourite. Great place and wonderful staff. Very clean, staff are helpful, the visitors are respectful to others. I visited that place at least 7 times last summer. I only wish there were other attractions around like a beach, restaurants or other places to visit. If you have everything you need from food, drinks, etc and all you need is a safe relaxing place to enjoy with your family then you will love that place. I highly recommend it.
