We would like to invite you to join us on an epic journey as we welcome you to Mountain Park Hotel nestled at the foot of the majestic Amahqwa (Frowning Man) mountain, and transport you to an era gone by. We ...More remain true to timeless standards and no compromise over supreme comfort and guest service set against backdrops of an old Tudor style manor house, with authentic hand carved black wood beams, low ceilings, hand carved blue stone walls and carefully chosen relics such as broadswords and battle-axes from England and Spain. Our guest's accommodation, which excites the sense's, with creaking floors and crooked doors that add a charm of their own. While embracing the familiarity of a 1940's country homestead, mirrored by the beauty of the southern Drakensberg's lush green valleys and rolling hills emotionally attuned service which each and every guest cherishes. Built during the second world war by Italian prisoners of war. The hotel has been a major part of the charming village of Bulwer for many years. Founded in 1885, named after Sir Henry Bulwer, lieutenant Governor of Natal We would like to warmly welcome you to our place of enchantment where our bold vision is to benchmark ourselves as the most admired country Hotel and resort in KwaZulu-Natal. A safe sanctuary that allows guests the space and time to create their own impressions of our exceptional destination Less

All sorted now thanks! :)
Good day Clive, I see that you visited Mountain Park Hotel and it must have been a few months ago. I am the new owner and can honestly say I have had to deal with quite a few concerns about the hotel after my take over here. For your information we have made some dramatically needed changes such as replacing of all linen, pillows and have upgraded the rooms to a completely new level. I need to stress that your review of the hotel is not a true reflection of the hotel as it is now and I feel that posting up comments on tripadvisor, only now, is not a good advert for us and utterly unfair. As for the food I have 3 highly skilled and trained Chefs and removed all the old staff who clearly were not doing their duties at the hotel. As you know people like ourselves for the most part refer to tripadvisor before venturing away from home. We would kindly ask that either you remove your comment or make a comment stating that the hotel has been taken over by new owners and have done some dramatic and well needed upgrades. I trust you understand my position. Kind regards, Paul Catlett
