Detailed Reviews
The hosts Cecile and Jerome were absolutely wonderful. Warm and friendly. The location is perfect., just a short stroll to the main warf and good food. Breakfast was excellent (25%off). I highly recommend this quaint and comfy Auberge.

Convenient location, clean room and a great restaurant on the first floor. The rooms are on the second floor with a separate, shared kitchen with a fridge, microwave, coffee/tea machine, table and chairs for making snacks or breakfast. The bistro downstairs had numerous dining choices from salads to entrees and desserts. Prepared and served with care, the meal was fresh and flavorfull. Evening dinner on the deck in the June sun was memorable.

Our one night stay at this most welcoming B&B was to be remembered in our hearts for a long time. Emilie, you have the sweetest personality and such a lovely French smile. Your Crepe Suzettes with fruit and syrup for breakfast were truly unbelievable and so much appreciated. If we could just have stayed longer---another trip will allow us more days to enjoy your tour guiding as obviously there are many places to explore and enjoy in your area. Those sites that you suggested to us while travellling to Bathurst and onward were beautiful sites that we likely would have missed if we had not met you. Also thankyou for your piano recital!!

Don’t stay on a Monday and make sure you leave on time.
We are traveling by car through the region and stayed one night here. One would think the innkeeper would have told us that the attached cafe wasn’t open at the time of booking on the one day we are staying. If you look at the website it’s all about their Cocooning Cafe, skilled chef, brunch, lunch and dinner which we could not enjoy on arrival (we came at 7pm) or departure.
When my husband went down to the cafe to get a table, he was asked how he got in. Then was told they are closed on Monday and to go to the donut shop instead. So odd.
The housekeeper came to our door and told us we were supposed to be out by 11am (at 11:15am) because she needed to clean and leave. Not friendly.
Was not a comfortable or pleasant stay with them and it wasn’t cheap. Disappointed and hungry. Had they been more friendly and informative, the discomfort of the bed and bright LED light above our heads would have been a non issue. Simply weird and awful.

Response from Auberge d'Anjou, Propriétaire at Auberge d'Anjou-Cocooning Cafe
Responded Jul 13, 2023
Hello, thank you for your comment. When you made your reservation our employee explained to you that the café was closed on Mondays. And reconfirmed it to you on Sunday when she called to give you arrival instructions. We haven't been serving dinner for 4 years... I suggest you check the schedules on your next trips. In each hotel there is a regulation with arrival and departure times. The rooms must be vacated at 11:00 a.m. The cleaning lady came nicely at 11:15 a.m. asking you to vacate the room..., and you left at 11:30 a.m. If all the customers are like you, we can't give the rooms back to the other customers for 2:00 p.m....! Indeed you were asked how you got into the dining room knowing that it was locked, we understood later that you had forced to open the door and thus break the locking latch of the door. There are no LED in the rooms, just a very small point of light coming out of the fire alarm... We wish you a very nice summer

We went out of our way a little to stay here based on the TA reviews. We were happy we did. The auberge is easy to find, our room large and comfortable, a private stairs for guests led quickly to the parking space. The auberge was so very clean, the hosts welcoming and ready with helpful suggestions on good food in the area. There was a kitchen upstairs where we stored our food. All this was very good, but the best part was the next morning. We chose the French breakfast. Wow! Best crepes , best parfait, delicious croissants, fresh berries all elegantly presented. Emilie and Oliver are a class act. And for all this I believe we only paid $116 which includes taxes. We left with a bag of super chocolate muffins and warm thoughts.

This was our second night from our road trip in NB. We had found this B&B in Trip Advisor and we were not desapointed. The whole family was very kind and friendly with us. We stayed in the family room where the 2 children had there on bed. The decorations is very nice with many antiques. The breakfast was the best we had from our whole trip, egg cooked in ham (in a muffin pan) with fruits, yogourt, muffins, croissant... The chocolate muffins were to die for, I even ask her the recipe and she was glad to share it with me. There is not much to see in this village, but its a 20 minutes ride to Bathurst and nice beaches.

The building is a historic building, and our room was furnished in an individual style, very nice. The atmosphere at this auberge and the bistro are open, casual, and extremely welcoming. The owners were very friendly and helpful, as was the staff. The food and wine were great. Overall, it is a wonderful place to stay and eat. Really liked the atmosphere and people there.

After a day of riding motorcycles all day in the rain, just to get here and out of the rain was great. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed when we arrived and nothing else much in this small town to get dinner so we ate at Tim Horton’s. The manager did check the kitchen and said she would be glad to warm up some soup and she had some salads made up however we did not want to cause her any extra work but it was great that she offered. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable and this was a very nice room. They had a small kitchen area with a K-Cup coffee maker for our use, this was a nice touch. The breakfast while not included in the rate was outstanding. Great stop.

L'Auberge d'Anjou is out of my way from home but I make the detour as often as possible!
The coffees, mochas, iced Capp and iced teas are great!
Their breakfast panini is by far the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. Cheesy and full of bacon and eggs on a yummy multi-grain bread with some spicy sauce on the side.
Tried many other things as well and never been disappointed :)
