This was the best place we stayed at in over two weeks of travelling from Ontario to Newfoundland. Located in Seldom, just off the ferry, this property has 4 separate cottages. Beautifully decorated, very modern with everything you need to be self-sufficient. The cottages are truly ocean-adjacent. Your own personal large deck for relaxing, and whale watching. Listening to the waves was soothing and peaceful. I really did not want to leave. The owners are friendly and helpful. I would stay here again. Highly recommended.

Excellent accommodations, comfortable with a deck overlooking a stunning oceanfront view. Modern, very high end decor, comfortable beds. A great deal of thought went in to the design and decorating of these units. Our hosts even thoughtfully texted us to let us know that there was a whale going past immediately out front! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend it.

The Partridgeberry Cottage at Escape By the Sea was a perfect base for our time on Fogo Island. The cottage was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. The cottage's kitchen was so fully equipped that we ate dinner there every night of our stay. With a wrap-around deck, we had a choice to sit in the sun or shade so spent a lot of time just looking out over the sea. Thank you, Kim and Kayla!

During my 10 day photo trip to Newfoundland, I was fortunate enough to stay at Escape By The Sea for 3 nights thanks to Michael Winsor of Newfoundland Photo Tours. This place is by far one of the best places I have stayed at in many years. Every inch of the cabin is so well laid out and thoughtfully equipped. It is a home away from home. The ocean view is so pleasing with the waves crashing on the beach is so relaxing. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again and I would highly recommend this place to family and friends.

Great cottage, beautifully decorated and maintained. Location is wonderful and the only sound you hear is the water lapping against the beach. Had a nice bonfire! Wish we were there more than one night! I highly recommend Escape By the Sea when staying in Fogo. Not far from the Ferry as well!

Kim has done an amazing job creating this incredible property. She was fast to respond to any question and was able to accommodate all our needs. The cottages have everything you need and are super clean. Highly recommend if heading to Fogo Island for a day or longer.

A beautiful and secluded spot on an already quiet island. The four cottages are located on the outskirts of the town of Seldom, overlooking the bay. The views are incredible, the cottage (Baked Apple) was immaculate, comfortable, and well appointed. Our hosts provided detailed information about the island to improve our visit. The bed was so comfortable that we fell asleep in minutes with the light of a lighthouse periodically reflecting in the window. Our only regret is that we didn’t plan a longer stay.

Beautiful location, a hidden gem on Fogo Island. Tastefully decorated, clean. We wanted for nothing more and sorry to leave. We enjoyed our deck overlooking the ocean, and listening to the sounds of waves crashing into shore at night. Kim is a very gracious host.

Cottages are facing the ocean so one can wake up and see the sea. Each cottage has a deck and a spot in the beach with chairs. On the beach there is also a fire pit. The cottages are beautifully decorated and completed equipped. The owner (Kim) is super friendly and helpful. She went out of her way to help us out when we got affected by the ferry strike.

The Escape by the Sea cottage - we stayed in Partridgeberry - was a terrific home base for our two days on Fogo. The cottages are beautiful with a lovely ocean view and a well designed layout. The kitchen had all the necessities and the porch was a great place to end the day. The living room might be a bit crowded if you had 4 adults but doubt you will be inside much of your visit.
