Such a gem nestled in the heart of the mountains! The river and falls are an amazing adventure. Be sure you visit Cañón Blanco while you are there! It’s a beautiful spot to just enjoy and meditate on the nature of the landscape. The food is vegetarian and the only thing I could think of is it would be nice if the menu had a little more options. But the meals were amazing. The staff at this place is great and the property itself is just magical. Be sure if you come to pack some drinks and snacks if you’re looking for something extra after the meals. I loved the fact that you could hear the river while you were in your room. Be sure if you do go to use Maps instead of Google maps. You will get there quicker!😉

Beautiful green area with a view of the mountains. I liked our terrace the most. Unfortunately we were unlucky enough to have baby Huntsman Spiders in the room... Luckily not the fully grown ones, but it was still scary. You are not allowed to flush the toilet paper in the room, that takes some getting used to. We tried the vegan food, it was quite good. Only the breakfast was much too expensive for what was offered. And the wine too, wow... The pool is nice and refreshing. There is a small hiking trail to a waterfall that you have all to yourself. You have to climb a bit, but it's worth it! The location of the Casa Grande is not the best, as there is nothing in the immediate vicinity. So a car is of course a must. All in all a nice hotel, but with a few minor drawbacks.

We had an absolutely amazing time, it was so much better than we expected. The surrounding area is gorgeous. Swimming in the river was super fun, the pool was clean, the staff were nice, and the food wasn’t all that bad. The only complaint I really have is the lack of protein in the food, and also it’s quite pricey.

Amazing location. Quiet, restorative. Absolutely beautiful place. Great vegan food. Yoga, meditation, and massage options. Best retreat ever. Even on a rainy day one can hang out on large veranda or on porch of private units. Highly recommended. Great service. Wonderful healthy whole food.

We stayed at this retreat for two nights in July. It takes some time to get there from the metro area and feels isolated. Unless you know the area well it is best to get there before sunset. It is a good place to relax and take it easy. The room was comfortable and basic in its furniture. The addition of the hammock in the balcony was a nice detail. No TV or small fridge in room. In my opinion, these are minor drawbacks. We brought snacks and bottle water. Wi-fi signal was adequate. This place offers yoga classes, spa services, and breakfast and dinner (vegan). We did have our meals on site. However, you have the option of getting your meals elsewhere in town. Please keep in mind that the room rates are a bit steep and adding meals, drinks, and other services will make your stay more expensive. This place has a swimming pool that we used during our first night there. Meanwhile, from Utuado you can drive to other towns in the area to explore them. In Utuado, you can visit the Caguana Indigenous Ceremonial Park, Cañón Blanco, Tanamá River , etc. Overall, our stay was a good and relaxing experience. I would recommend the place if you want to stay in the central mountainous region of PR.

Casa Grande Mountain was one if the highlights of our trip. We especially liked the daily morning yoga and healthy food options as well as the friendly staff which were especially helpful with our late check in time since our flight arrived at night after the front desk already closed so they gave us step-by-step directions to our room which worked out perfectly. Driving there at night in the rain forest worked out fine and sticking to the directions they gave and planning out ahead given the spotty gps I would highly recommend. Casa Grande Mountain was not just a place to stay at night it was a whole experience of rest and relaxation in a peaceful forest environment and it made our entire Puerto Rico experience a great one.

I stayed here for 3 nights and can say that the views are to die for -- waking up in the morning and sitting in my hammock with a cup of coffee, taking in the lush mountains in front of me, is an experience I will never forget. The dinners were so flavorful and delicious as well. The massage I had was wonderful, and unlike any other. My only difficulties with staying here was that there was no AC- although it cooled off at night, during the day in June the temperatures were very uncomfortable, so I would recommend going when the weather is better. I also wished that a daily breakfast and snacks throughout the day were included, as the cost of meals added up quickly while I was there, and it's not convenient to get off property to eat. Staff was super helpful and kind, and the people I met there were so kind and down to earth as well. It does get very loud at night in terms of forest sounds, so be prepared to feel totally immersed in nature.

This place is like a dream! Morning yoga a 8am, gorgeous pool, delicious food (pre-set 3 course dinner for $35). I also got a massage and it was the best I have ever received.
We were in room 7 at the top of the hill and it was fantastic. There is hiking onsite but we did not do because it rained. There is a cute dog that will follow you allow and hammocks to relax at every room.
So so wonderful!!

+++++ Friendly staff In the jungle Nice natural pool Cute bungalows Free water & tea Everything very clean Swimming area with waterfall not far away (max. 10 minutes walk - very nice place) Large parking lot Free yoga Bathrobes in the room Ceiling fan Comfortable beds Hammock on the terrace - - - Very limited choice for dinner and was okay for us personally (everything very healthy). Unfortunately, the salad only tasted of oil. Some spices were missing (a matter of taste 😊) Price higher No air conditioning, no TV, no hairdryer, no fridge For us personally, too much healthy food 😅 If you want to see something, you have to drive very far. Car is a must No Coke/Fanta etc. (But there are fresh drinks and healthy food) 150$ credit card blocked at check-in Personally, 2 nights were completely sufficient for us. We stayed there overnight and went hiking in other areas during the day. In our opinion, it is more suitable for travelers who do yoga, pay attention to food and mainly stay in the retreat.

We stayed a few days in Casa Grande Mountain Retreat, and wish we’d stayed for a few more! Nestled in the mountains, it provides a very different experience from the beaches of Puerto Rico. The mountainous drive in is a little hairy, but persevere as this place is heaven. The rooms (more like mini cottages) are beautiful and each have a private balcony with hammock. The pool is lovely. There is yoga and opportunity for getting a massage - both were terrific. And the food (vegan) was delicious. The staff were so friendly and helpful … cannot say enough good things about this place. Loved it!
