Villahermosa is another spot that gets short shirift. The joke goes, there's no villa and it ain't pretty! At first glance this may appear true, but if you stay in the "historical center" of Villahermosa and get out and walk a bit, you may find a surprise or two. The Casa de Azulejos, lots of fine colonial architecture, a fantastic... More

I made a reservation at 11pm the night before via booking.com and was pleased to see the confirmation at check-in at the Madan came 5pm the next day. The Best Western is not bad value for just a night’s stay - at 1000 pesos including tax and discounted without breakfast - but it’s hard to judge based on a 15-hour... More

I was pretty ill when I stayed here, so I just wanted somewhere clean to lay my head. It was clean and comfortable. And shower was also good- relatively powerful, clean and with hot water. Also good wifi access, air-con, coffee making facilities and 2 bottles of water. Cannot comment on location, as did not venture out. Cleaners were ridiculously... More

Beside the fact that there is no elevator and therefore no access for people with disabilities, the double room at 750$ is really not a good value. Sure there is a coffee maker in the room, but no coffee to go with. You can hear a lot of noise from the hotel machinery though I could not determine where it... More

We booked this hotel with our credit card points. When we checked in they demanded our credit card though no other hotels on the trip that we had booked with our points wanted it. When we received our bill we were charged for the two nights we spent there. It has been three months and four calls totaling about three... More

We stayed one night in Villahermosa coming from Campeche and going to Canon del Sumidero. Villahermosa is an ugly city with nothing to do in the centre of the city. First the pros of Hotel Madan: it is located right in the city centre and the room was clean. You have a TV and WIFI in the rooms. BUT: the... More

The hotel was adequate for our trip, it has got nice big clean rooms. The bar downstairs can get a bit loud if you are staying on that side of the hotel. Our main problem was that we booked two rooms through expedia for a certain price and when we arrived at the hotel, we discovered that they had a... More

We stayed here after arriving in Mexico. There's really nothing for tourists in the city. This hotel was centrally located near a bank to change money, a grocery store, and a few eateries. We found outdoor music a few streets away and had beer outside. Few people speak English, and tourists really stand out. As a woman, I quickly changed... More

$595 pesos bought a clean room with decent air conditioning and free parking. We were on the top level and had no noisy disco issues, though we did stay on a Sunday/Monday night. In Villahermosa, we loved the La Venta Museum but not much else.

Nice room, good location, excellent restaurant. Everything you'd want in a hotel except the most important thing: a good night's sleep. The bass beat coming from the bar below our room was more than just loud, you could actually feel it through the floors, in fact right through the bed. Sleep was impossible until it finally ceased at 4AM! We... More
