I have stayed in this hotel before and had a positive experience. During my most recent stay in December I noticed some improvements. The new bus station is now even closer, making it a very short walk to the hotel. You can easily walk to the restaurants downtown or catch a van just across the street to the ruins. The... More

Right across the street from the bus station - yay! Difficult to find the entrance and difficult entrance with a suitcase. No elevator in a 3 storey hotel! Room is standard Best Western - quite acceptable but a little smell of mildew. Great view over pool - which is being re-modelled and has no water in it. Breakfast was good... More

Spent a weekend there and wished we had stayed somewhere else. The hotel is well situated at the major crossroads of Palenque and is fairly easy to find. But that's where the positive stops. The rooms are Spartan, not really clean (especially the bathroom) and the beds are extremely uncomfortable. It's quite below average for Mexican hotels and definitely way... More

The hotel has a good location for exploring the town and surroundings. clean and good rooms, and pretty quiet ( if people are not howling around in the corridors as they did one night). We especially enjoyed the small garden with a nice pool after long days sightseeing the area. However, the service at the front desk could be a... More

Im a loyal traveler and I really pay attention to thr reviews place on this website... when checking my hotel options I read those of this hotel. I had previously stayed on an other hotel here in palenque. But had bad experience in that other hotel. Being this a worldwide hotel chain I figure it was kind of a safe... More

The Maya Palenque is a huge disappointment. The location is great. In Palenque's La Canada area and near the bus terminal - in fact right across the street from the new terminal. The pool area is really nice. But it's downhill from there. Checking in was a hassle. It took them 20 minutes to find the reservation - even with... More

It was your regulation Best Western, good, clean, and what you expect. Swimming pool is a great extra as Palenque is very hot and humid. Staff were very helpful/ Only stayed one night as we found a pretty good deal to get to San Cristobal via the ruins, waterfall and swimming hole. The cost of which was less than the... More

For more than $100 dollars a night we were not satisfied at all. If it was only 30-40 dollars like the other hotels nearby, that were the same, I would have been satisfied. The rooms were clean, that I can honestly say. The staff are very nice and friendly. You cannot control the AC, and its humid here, its either... More

I don't have anything bad to say about this hotel. We got exactly what we expected. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The location was good. The pool was awesome for the kids. There is a pool bar setup there but nothing is ever served because there isn't a bartender. Not much else I could say.

Clean, friendly staff, and well located. Be prepared that the receptionist may speak very limited English.
