We are frequent travellers and have stayed in a wide variety of lodgings around the world. My husband booked this "spa" on-line for 3 nights as a special treat for my birthday. From the very first night we were kept awake by a loud family with screaming children, and although I got up to ask the family to please be... More

Piedra de aqua is a fantastic retreat from the Palenque tourist buzz... Although the archeological site is by far not as touristic as Chitzen Itza, we really enjoyed coming into this quiet paradise after seeing the ruins. The pool is clean, and large enough for a dive and relax. The hammocks on the patio of the cabañas were pure relax.... More

This hotel is such a find. Very peaceful after a long drive. Service of staff excellent. Beautiful gardens and rooms. Night swimming in the tropical pool and relaxing with cold beers in the hot tub. Staff even run the outdoor bath for you on your terrace and light candles around it. Thoroughly recommended.

A friend and I stayed here for 3 nights in February and we chose it for its location. There are some good things to say about the hotel, but overall we were disappointed. First off, making a reservation was a challenge. The hotel was recommended to us by another hotel that was full, and when we called to reserve, we... More

I wish I could keep this little gem of a hotel for myself, but I might as well share the wonder. We stayed in Piedra de Agua for a few days in May, with very few other guests, and it was one of the best hotels I have ever experienced. It is wonderfully quiet - except for the screams of... More

The customer service was almost nonexistent. Very little in terms of welcoming us, asking us what we wanted to do/see, did we have any questions, etc. And this is not an inexpensive place, so I would expect some basic interaction. I do realize that my lack of Spanish is my problem and I honestly didn't expect all of the staff... More

Unfortunately we arrived later than expected on our first night, too late to find dinner. However, a pizza was being delivered to another guest, and the staff arranged another order for us, and we were able to have beers as well from the little bar on site. The rooms? Cabins are well furnished with local crafts, bathroom incredibly well stocked... More

The room was lovely and spacious. The hotel was close to the ruins. Great pool and outdoor area. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing is that they aren't many restaurants walking distance and sometimes you just want to relax without having to leave the hotel.
